For anyone who grew up watching Power Rangers in the '90s and 2000s, it's hard to forget the catchy theme songs, fight scenes, and villains. Many can agree that some of the best series were the earliest ones especially Power Rangers Lost Galaxy.

While the American version stayed true to its Japanese villains and main characters, it added more persona that made them so memorable for fans. Some even had a crush on the Red Ranger (Danny Slavin) and feared Scorpius (Kim Strauss), a heinous and vile evil creature. Some Power Rangers were more fan favorites than others and many of the villains didn't sit well with the audience.

Rory Gilmore has a pretty great life on Gilmore Girls. She gets to live in Stars Hollow, a small town where everyone cares about each other, and while it's too bad that her dad is absent, her mom more than makes up for that loss. Fans watch Rory experience love and heartbreak over the show's seven seasons, and any hard times in her life are always balanced by fun movie nights with Lorelai.

After steering two Happy Death Day films marrying slasher and time-loop tropes together for box office success, the question for writer/director Christopher Landon was, “What’s next?” Add Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse and you’d be right to assume it would be another horror comedy of some kind, but what sub-genre would be injected to give it a unique yet familiar flair? Or better yet: whose script would provide that injection with an overall sensibility he could get behind? Landon didn’t write the first Death Day film after all. Nor did he originate the treatment that became Scouts Guide. So when Michael Kennedy approached him with an idea he hoped to pitch to Blumhouse inspired by those films’ narrative inventiveness, Landon immediately asked to join the Freaky party.
Kennedy’s premise is entertaining: utilize the body-swap concept in a high school setting, but make the adult...

Vertigo Releasing has acquired the UK and Irish distribution rights and launched a trailer for ‘Minamata’ featuring Johnny Depp.
New York, 1971. Following his celebrated days as one of the most revered photojournalists of World War II, W. Eugene Smith (Johnny Depp) has become a recluse, disconnected from society and his career. But a secret commission from Life magazine editor Robert Hayes (Bill Nighy) sends him to the Japanese coastal city of Minamata, which has been ravaged by mercury poisoning; the result of decades of gross industrial negligence by the country’s Chisso Corporation.
There, Smith immerses himself in the community, documenting their efforts to live with Minamata Disease and their passionate campaign to achieve recognition from Chisso and the Japanese government. Armed with only his trusted camera, Smith’s images from the toxic village give the disaster a heartbreaking human dimension, and his initial assignment turns into a life-changing experience.

“Walking Dead” producer Gale Anne Hurd says that the Black Lives Matter movement rather than #MeToo has been the game changer for representation in film and television.
In a far-ranging Canneseries online conversation about her career, she also discussed sexism she has faced, future plans for “The Walking Dead” with a new spin-off series and movie, and how she keeps returning to the theme of “ordinary people thrust into extraordinary circumstances who find the inner strength to defeat evil.”
Hurd started by thanking legendary producer Roger Corman for not only giving her a chance in the film industry after she majored in Economics and Communications at Stanford University in 1977 but also for not limiting her career opportunities because of her gender. “I thought I’d be his assistant for life,” she said about the position for which she had applied. Are you ready for the Zombie apocalypse? New trailer arrives for ‘Train to Busan presents Peninsula’

Studiocanal UK has debuted a new trailer and release dates in November for ‘Train To Busan’ follow-up ‘Peninsula’.
Following on from Train To Busan, one of the most successful Korean films ever made, writer/ director Yeon Sang-ho presents the final instalment of his zombie trilogy. Peninsula depicts a post-apocalyptic vision of Korea four years on from the events of Train To Busan, in which the entire country is overrun with zombie hordes.
Jung-seok (Gang Dong-won), a soldier who previously escaped the diseased wasteland, relives the horror when assigned to a covert operation on the quarantined peninsula with two simple objectives: retrieve and survive. When his team unexpectedly stumbles upon survivors, their lives will depend on whether the best—or worst—of human nature prevails in the direst of circumstances.
The film was the first Korean film in the same universe to be invited back-to-back as part of the Official Cannes 2020 selection.

Last week’s episode of Legends of Tomorrow, “Freaks and Greeks,” was a fun frat party full of zatoichi beer pong and mean girls, but it ended with a bit of a bombshell: Astra drinks from the cup of Dionysus, granting her immortality for a day so she could use the Loom of Fate, and Lachesis, Charlie’s fate sister and the one pulling Astra’s strings in Hell, caught up to Astra and called in the favor she’s owed. That’s all going to come to a head in “I Am Legends.”
Here’s the official synopsis:
“After drinking from Chalice, the Legends have immortality for 24 hours, which gives them time get to the Waverider and use the Loom of Fate. However, they quickly discover that the sisters have stolen the Waverider and they are stuck at Constantine’s (Matt Ryan) house in the middle of nowhere in London during a Zombie Apocalypse.

In the world of zombie horror films, you have to sift through a bunch of subpar films to find something truly worth your time. So many films in the subgenre just recycle the same ideas and themes, borrowing way too much from the legendary George Romero. But in 2016, the South Korean feature, “Train to Busan,” was released and showed that there’s still some life left in zombie films.

The four stories directed by Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee and Karan Johar appear in that order on-screen. The four directors, none of whom have directed a horror film, expand the scope of the genre and question whether what scares us always lies outside of us. Things get off to a good start with Zoya's technically brilliant tale. The man who quietly (and always weirdly) helped to define American Independent Cinema in the 1980s, Jim Jarmusch has stubbornly made his own kinds of films in his own way. If Hollywood ever thought they could make him fit into one of their boxes, they were wrong to try, and eventually, his actor admirers sought him out to be in a series of idiosyncratic and always fascinating films. Here’s our ranking of his singular output:
13. “Coffee & Cigarettes” (2003): Sure, it’s the last one on this list, which technically means it’s the “worst,” but even the least plotted, most indulgent and freely floating Jim Jarmusch film provides memorably weird, comedic pleasures. This brazenly pointless sequence of non-events is 11 segments long, each one starring different actors, all of them talking — most frequently about the Tesla Coil — while drinking coffee and smoking. All except for Gza and RZA, that is,...

After winning a ton of new fans (and a hefty $135 million box office take) for his inventive zombie thriller (on a train!) “Train to Busan,” filmmaker Yeon Sang-ho is back with another spin on a beloved genre. This time, it’s superheroes. In his upcoming new film, “Psychokinesis,” Ryu Seung-ryong stars as a seemingly regular man who discovers that he has superpowers (mainly, it seems, he’s able to move things with his mind) and decides to use those powers to help save his daughter. Hijinks appear to ensue.
Netflix picked up the domestic rights to the film back in November, though the film is already slated to bow in South Korea in the coming weeks. For now, domestic audiences will have to be held over by a quick new trailer for the film, one that gamely sets up its premise and what appears to be a generous dose of comedy.

Word got out that Arnold Schwarzengger would follow up his supporting stint in The Expendables 2 and his comeback starring role in The Last Stand with a leading turn in another action-thriller: Black Sands, a new project directed by onetime stunt supervisors Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh (the upcoming Act of Valor) based on a screenplay by The A-Team writer Skip Woods.
The film was then being described as a Commando-style flick that would pit a loner (Schwarzenegger) against a vicious weapons manufacturer; now, the project (which has not been retitled Black Sunday, despite reports to the contrary) is said to be more of a genre mashup.
Arnold Fans has the scoop on Black Sands, which will reportedly star Ah-nuld as an immortal warrior (he describes his character as “kind of an angel”) who battles ...

Actor/Director Says He Got Script Notes From Clint Eastwood On Project, Talks Working With Ji-Woon Kim On 'The Last Stand' After early supporting roles in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High," "The Color of Money," "Platoon," "Stakeout" and "Good Morning, Vietnam," Forest Whitaker finally landed a leading role, winning Best Actor at Cannes in the process, in 1988's "Bird" the biopic of jazz legend Charlie Parker directed by Clint Eastwood. Nearly 25-years-on, it looks like the actor-director is finally returning to another jazz icon, stepping behind the camera this time, although enlisting the help of his old collaborator on the film. We caught up with Whitaker this week at the Marrakech Film Festival, and he revealed he's got two directorial projects on the way or in the works: "Better Angels," a project focusing on Ugandan child soldiers in which he'll also star, and "Getting To...

Following their semi announcement of a sequel to their big hit of the summer, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Fox has hired a writer for a sequel to their second biggest: X-Men: First Class. The choice, however, may not bode well.
Compared to some of the other films released in the Summer, X-Men: First Class did poorly. While the numbers were okay, the possibilities for a sequel didn't look strong. It grossed about $146 million domestically off of a $160 million budget, which on first glance my seem bad. However, it grossed an additional $206 million overseas, and has seemed to done pretty great in DVD sales. So, despite being the least grossing X-Men movie (but one of the most critically successful), Fox seems to be moving in on at least developing a sequel to the film.
Superhero Hype broke the news, although Fox has yet to confirm the news. But,...

This past summer saw the continuation of the 'X-Men' film series in the form of the prequel or possible reboot, 'X-Men: First Class.' It actually lost a little money domestically, recouping a little over $145 million of its estimated $160 million budget, but everything turns in the favor of the franchise when you toss in that $350 million worldwide total. In a bit of news that may frighten 'X-Men' fans to their very core -- at least the extremely vocal ones -- the 'First Class' sequel is going to share a connection with 'X-Men: The Last Stand.' That connection is Simon Kinberg, one of the contributing writers to the aforementioned film. According to Superhero Hype, he's writing up the script for the 'First Class' sequel. In addition to 'The Last Stand,' Kinberg did some writing on 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith,' 'Jumper,' 'Sherlock Holmes,' and two upcoming films,...

It was easy to be all about Thor and Captain America this summer, in the lead-up to The Avengers. But lest we forget, there was another, separate Marvel property that did rather well in 2011, and a sequel to X-Men: First Class is now officially underway, with Simon Kinberg penning his first draft as we speak.Who he? Well most immediately relevant is that he was one of several writers on X3: The Last Stand, Brett Ratner's appropriation of the reigns from Bryan Singer. He's also got writing credits on Mr and Mrs Smith, Jumper and Sherlock Holmes, and is a writer and producer on the forthcoming This Means War and Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. There's no solid intel on what shape the further adventures of Charles Xavier, Erik Lensherr and the Junior Mutants will take. First Class director Matthew Vaughn told HItfix earlier this year that "I thought...

When X-Men Origins: Wolverine hit our screens back in 2009, we all felt the beloved X-Men franchise had taken a horrible turn for the worse. It’s true perhaps the downfall began with X-Men 3: The Last Stand but particularly by The Wolverine the saga was beginning to show it’s age and was no longer feeling very imaginative or as smart as Bryan Singer envisioned when he first translated these cerebral comics for the big screen.
Origins had strayed too far away from what was established before in previous films and the comic book source material. It’s cinematic crimes are too numerous to mention but thankfully with X-Men: First Class’s new setting and prequel approach, the franchise has been give an entire new lease of life and the latest installment may be one of the best in the series.
