This tiny short horror comedy is stupid and campy, but the absurd idea of it does somehow work, the iconic horror character of Leatherface is so dead-serious and intense that he's ideal for parody, and this short superbly spoofs some of the scarier elements of the excellent original movie in a very fun and comedic way. It's about three gals out on the town from LA who come across the (I guess in this universe he reformed and tried out a new line of work..)salon of Leatherface and are soon confronted by the hulking maniac, and then ensues a comical chase sequence that plays out like a fake joke movie trailer with a few classic but funny slapstick gags until one of them falls over and he drags her back to a chair in the salon where it shows her screaming in abject terror as he brandishes his trademark weapon in a manner very reminiscent to how he dispatched the wheelchair-bound Franklin in the movie, and it does seem very much that he's butchering her horribly as she appears to be awash in blood - but then as he steps back and she stops shrieking and looks at her hands, she sees that rather than being mutilated in any fashion, she's in fact the height of fashion as all the vicious, violent strokes of the chainsaw have actually been precise delicate motions that have given her the most perfect manicure she's ever had, and the 'blood' was actually a shade of red varnish that he was applying somehow! And then there's one more twist as the girls don't pay him enough and he becomes enraged again and starts hunting them down for real! So anyway one more time, the notion of this is ridiculous but for me it really works, turning the image of a beloved horror character on its head and making him something of a caricature of himself, but still kind of scary at the same time! Fun little short horror gem, I only wish it was a bit longer. Have a nice day!
