Mildly thought provoking
chriscornall22316 April 2011
I have to say i wasn't really ever bored watching this movie but i must admit this mockumentary genre has really run the gamut at this point. Based very loosely on an apparent you tube video depicting the actions of an ELF-like animal rights vigilante organization, the story line attempts to convince the viewer that certain ridiculous scenarios actually coincide with reality. This is the kind of movie that if you go into it looking for reasons to pick apart a low-budget production you'll find them. Having said that i think this movie would have faired a lot better to have developed the characters a little better and spiced up the hunt with a few more surprises. I kinda felt like as soon as i got into it, the ending credits appeared. I felt the beginning and ending were decent, it was the rushed middle content that kinda let me down. Overall not terrible but could've been better.

True story
kosmasp22 March 2021
Things that are based on true stories do not work all the time. The way this is conceived and planned out, make it intriguing, but also quite flawed too. There are the main characters who tell us their point of view of what is happening. Now I'll leave it up to you to decide how much of a morality tale this is.

And who has the upper hand when it comes to moral supperiority. There are arguments to be made on both sides I reckon - but do we care enough for the main characters or their opponents to really engage in them? In a general matter of speaking I'd say we all have our own thoughts and mind made up .. but for the purposes of the movie ...

So boring!
One of the most boring films ever made!! Certainly not a thriller. The acting is incredibly poor and the 'churchy' moralising spoils any enjoyment left in the film. The film feels like watching a particularly uninteresting episode of crime watch with all the long, boring mocumentary interviews - I think a story about a old ladies purse being taken by teenagers would be more gripping than this! After watching it I researched where the film came from. It has clearly been 'self-funded' my some trust fund kiddies with more money than skill and seems to have flopped everywhere. They tried a 'viral marketing' campaign to promote the film but Youtube pulled it. They set up fake accounts to promote the film and even spammed movie forums - but no one is interested.

I don't think this film would even hold the attention of the most avid hunter. All I can say to the team that made this is don't give up the day job (or the money from mummy and daddy)!

Embarrassingly awful
menace-lamenace19 April 2011
This sounded exciting but turned out to be one of the lamest films I have ever seen. The biggest problem is that you feel utterly unsympathetic towards the main characters. The bad acting is only highlighted by the documentary style, the action is boring, and the plot is covered with holes. The torturers are so one dimensional and badly researched that you wonder if the writers had any idea what they were talking about at all. It would have been so easy to show more of the activists and turn them into really meaty villains,(regardless of which political side you are on), but no... it\s just terribly written, poorly acted and a complete waste of time and money. Watch it for a good belly chuckle at its sheer awfulness, but that\s probably all you\ll get out of it. Yawn yawn yawnnnn. Lame!!!

Boring and ill-informed
helenclare8 April 2011
This is one of the most boring films I have ever seen. Although marketed as based on a true story it is obvious that it's totally fictional. Apparently this film was supposed to invigorate debate about fox hunting. It has failed to do this as the debate is about the storyline. Has this happened? Would it happen? The answer to both is no. The anti's are accused of dumping dead foxes on the porches of the hunt fraternity. The truth is that the hunt have done this to anti-hunt campaigners. A search on YouTube will bring up numerous videos of the hunt physically and verbally assaulting anti-hunt campaigners. Women are their favourite target. Animal rights is not about torturing humans to save animals. Had the film been unbiased then the anti's would not have been masked the whole time. Information about them would have depicted them as compassionate people and their beliefs about why the hunting act should not be repealed should have been explained.

The film is pro hunt propaganda. You'd be better off watching A Minority Pastime

Worse movie of the year
tomlu130 May 2011
The title of the film initially peeked my interest. I figured it was going to be a horror flick. The whole documentary idea was very distracting. Right when you thought the movie was getting a little dramatic, there's the documentary voice over. I mean, what is the deal with that? 30 minutes into the movie, I was bored out of my mind and could not focus and I rarely feel this way with movies. Even some of the bad ones. I was forced to fast forward it little by little until the whole movie was over. Than I'm like, "That's it?" It was beyond a "D" movie. Low budget to the max with highly untrained actors. Not worth the money folks. There were never a climatic part to the movie and the documentary approach made the movie far worse than what it already is. I recommend you watch this movie while you are asleep at night.

LOL @ fake description!
jinzoclash6 January 2018
"BLOODED finally tells the full story behind one of the most extreme internet virals of modern times." I have LITERALLY never heard of this movie until this very moment. I've never even heard of the event it's based on. "Extreme internet viral"? WHERE? Not here in the USA. The write up is more proof this was just some pack of little brats trying to manufacture popularity... ...and failing horribly. Bored me to tears. I had more fun fapping and building a Gundam model while this dragging, sloppy movie had temporarily adorned my monitor in a 1-time showing.

Ponderous British tripe
RogerB-P3RV320 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Animal rights group secretly films Lucas Bell - a pro-activist of fox hunt - active participation in the game with four other companions in remote Scottish island in 2005. Supposed true story is reenacted in the actual locations with actors (revealed to the audience during the pre-credits). The 'real' person narrates the events behind the camera. And what is the event that is so important it had to be dramatically realized? Basically the hunters become the hunted. Ponderous British tripe.

Interesting idea, well delivered.
howtallisawombat4 April 2011
At first you feel cheated by the film's 'documentary' approach. you know the character's survive because they're right in front of you being interviewed, but as the film picked up speed you realise that this isn't a slasher film and that character survival isn't important.

The film is a moral dilemma, are the hunters in the right as innocent victims? or are the animal rights protesters in the right for defending animals through drastic measures? Really, both are right, and both are wrong. But it's up to the audience to pick a side.

this refusal to pull the audience one way or another is a very strong narrative technique, the film will divide audiences, and some people will dislike it as a result, but those are the same people that will want to just see a straight horror film where the killer is known from the start and the victims are easily identifiable.

Strong performances, stunning visuals and a clever script help produce a fine film which is thoroughly enjoyable and will keep you thinking about it long after the credits have rolled.

Great documentary/movie, delicate subject.
lezz66 April 2011
Warning: Spoilers
To start of the movie is great. I wasn't familiar with this story so everything came by surprise. Its a very delicate subject to talk about in the first place and you'll find that out during the movie. Animal preservation is very important we can all agree on that. This movie is about a group of people going to the Isle of mull in the United Kingdom. Among the people 'Lucas Bell' a fox hunter in the UK who believes fox hunting is a sport and tradition etc. I don't know his whole story. They end up in a messed up situation being hunted. The people who have actually been trough this give comments during the movie. Very exciting movie and its hard to tell how its going to end.
