Cliche Qodrat
fluffset5 December 2022
Indonesia do too much horror movie, until we know already what will happen next. The different that Qodrat offer is the fighting scene, out of nowhere suddenly Qodrat perform martial art like what you saw in The Raid Redemption or Night Come For Us. Other than that, it is all regular possessed scene, countless jumpscare and everything you ever know from indonesian horror. All the cast did their best, especially the actress. The cinematography is beautiful, some remote hometown at seaside. There is till 100 word to fill, who come up with this required characters, I have no idea what to write, oh yeah, this movie is quite scary, even though its cliche, its still scary. Enjoy.

Solid Exorcism Movie. If you like that, you'll probably like this.

Hi. I'm Chris, and I'm an old white dude that likes horror movies.

I caught this on a whim on Amazon and was pleasantly surprised. There's a fair amount going on here. Moral quandary, the clergy and power, all done in a very space yet entertaining. The jump scares are reasonably well done, there's some solid CGI and the addition of martial arts that comes here and there a bit out of nowhere was, to be honest, kinda cool. Not second rate stuff, either.

I've seen some remarks about accuracy to the Islamic faith and - seriously? It's an exorcism movie. As a theologian I'd love to sit down with you and your favourite Christian exorcism movie and I'll have some notes. You will have to wait for me to stop laughing, however.

It gives a stark, grim, taut view of the path of an exorcist and the corruption of faith. If you like horror flicks and possession movies in particular I can safely recommend this really interesting example of Indonesian Horror films.

Nothing original anymore
enlightened-110873 June 2023
What is happening with asian movies? Nothing original anymore. The plot, the acting, the make up, even the music seemed to be plainly plagiarised from the western horror movies such as 'the nun', 'exorcism of god' and 'the exorcist'. The only difference, it was fitted with things familiar in Islam such as 'syahadah' & of course, verses from Quran to make the movie looks 'asian' or 'islamic'.

I'll watch the movie if it was played free... But don't expect me to go to cinema and spent several bucks on the movie.

Acting was good i guess. But Qodrat appearance as an ustadz was not appealing. Overall i give this movie a score of 5.

Warning: Spoilers
This is typically Indonesian way of horror movies one hero ,Demon and an evil religious man that abuses religious rites for money and glory Our Hero Qudurat is the saver... Direction is fair good camera is perfect but story is repetitive and expected Graphic for Demon is perfect but the serial events are loose I recommend it for you if you are horror movies begginer but not for experienced personnel I can say its failely good just 6 of 10 Not boring but there is something missing in horror aspects.. Anyway the hero is good actor and mother of Alif boy.. overall good movie to watch but do not expect more.

Good Horror entertainment
saadrahman-309263 April 2023
I don't watch many Indo horror film and it was pretty damn scary to me. It was basic and slow at start but it picked it pace quickly.

The fighting scenes were really on a different level. The sudden random martial art reminded me of IP man or any other martial art movie (lol) but in a very good way of course.

Loved the acting, place and the thrill it brought. One thing I specially loved was the relevance in islamic context. The reality of possession and how to deal with such being was very spot on.

There were times I had goosebumps. I enjoyed the story. Even though I loved the movie, the ending was very basic .

BUT REST ASSURED, THIS MOVIE WILL DEFINITELY GIVE YOU THE HORROR YOU WANT. (you can watch it with family)

Horror Superhero Film
furiousravir27 July 2023
First of all, i never saw this much of action scenes in any horror film. The action scenes and the cinematography was great. For some moment i forgot that i was watching a horror film not a martial art film. The horror scenes were scary enough. But the i could not digest the action and horror and religion together. The storytelling was flawed. There were loopholes. But the film promises to have them cleared in the second Quodrat film. I wonder who would wait for that film. I laughted my lungs out after watching the ending. You can watch the film with freinds and cousins. It's a new kind of cinema.

Good indo horror
rabia-7518926 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I have watched few indo horror movies in the past like Sabrina, Kuntalanak. This is by far one of the best. From start of the movie till the end you it's very intresting and fast pace first ten mins you get to see the main characters past & present.

Out of nowhere you get some martial arts in the movie which is quite fun as in horror movies you dont see that very often i would say its Silat fighting style like the fight scenes you see in The Raid. The acting is spectacular specially the possessed child. I thoroughly enjoyed this as these days there hasnt been much good horror movies out I do hope they continue the story of Qodrat.
