Sideshow Brings Frankenstein'S Monster To Life: "First brought to life by the words of Mary Shelley, the creation known as Frankenstein’s Monster has taken on many forms throughout popular culture. Inspired by the iconic literary character and his visual legacy across the centuries, the Frankenstein’s Monster Statue by Sideshow honors the creature’s horror roots and tragic nature with a new, original design.
This stunningly detailed, fully sculpted piece shows the hulking figure cloaked in the pelt of a black bear and clad in patchwork pants. Two large electrodes emerge from his back and silver staples hold his reanimated flesh together. He is painted with a cadaverous mixture of yellows and reds, emphasizing how Frankenstein’s creation straddles the line between life and death.

Christopher McQuarrie’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One expands on the themes of technological anxiety that animated last year’s Tom Cruise vehicle, Top Gun: Maverick, which McQuarrie co-wrote and began with the threat of human pilots being phased out in favor of drones and artificial intelligence. Here, the generic roster of villains that dot the Mission: Impossible franchise reaches its logical endpoint, with the interchangeable global terrorists replaced with an experimental A.I. dubbed “The Entity” that’s become sentient and gone rogue, prompting various national agencies and independent parties to embark on a hunt for the program’s site of operation to either destroy it or weaponize it for their own ends.
In both movies, the thematic subtext of A.I.’s looming threat is obvious, as much a warning against dehumanized warfare as a commentary on the increasingly soulless, anti-human nature of blockbuster filmmaking that...

In addition to her storied musical career, the late rock legend Tina Turner may have the best run of movie character names of all time. She only played someone else on screen three times in her life, but each occasion was memorable (and memorably named). From The Acid Queen in Ken Russell's "Tommy" to Aunty Entity in "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" to The Mayor in "Last Action Hero," Turner's short-lived cinematic career was defined by roles that felt like they were crafted just for her — with stylish names to match.
Turner's biggest film role came via George Miller, who really did craft the role of the third "Mad Max" film's villain around Turner. According to a retrospective written for NME in honor of the film's 35th anniversary, Miller and co-writer Terry Hayes made up the role for Turner after Miller was captivated by her after seeing her in a British TV interview.

Los Angeles, May 25 (Ians) Soulful diva Tina Turner, who had a lengthy run of ’60s and ’70s R&b hits and struck major pop stardom in the ’80s, died on Wednesday in Switzerland, reports ‘Variety’. She was 83.
“Tina Turner, the ‘Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll’ has died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland. With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model,” her representative said in a statement to ‘Variety’.
More than a decade after her crossover hit ‘Proud Mary’ with husband Ike, Tina Turner ascended to the pinnacle of pop fame with the 1984 Capitol Records album ‘Private Dancer’. The collection, which spawned a trio of top-10 pop hits, sold five million copies and garnered four Grammy Awards, adds ‘Variety’. Though she never matched that breakthrough solo success, she recorded and toured profitably until her retirement in 2000.

Europe during the Middle Ages was a place of contrasts, where serfdom squalor festered in the shadow of royal splendor, an era of death and deterioration that somehow managed to produce magnificent castles and glorious cathedrals. The weekend is officially in sight, and we have a question for you... Who's down for a little vampire action to get through the morning? Not the brooding or sparkling kind either. The real deal! If you answered "yes," then this story is for you!
From award-winning director Ben Mole comes The Case of Mary Ford starring Branko Tomovic (Entity), Yannis Stankoglou (Hostage), and Dimitra Hatoupi (The Third Night) with newcomer Tamar Karabetyan.
Check out the first set of stills from the flick, which was adapted from the award-winning short story by John Mole and tells the story of the Greek legend of the Vrykolakas, a vampire from the sea.
Synopsis
New York City, 1913. Recent Greek immigrant Mary Ford is accused of killing her lover. Mary claims the real murderer is her husband. But her husband… is already dead. Maria’s defense relies on the story of how she came to America.
