Sex & Nudity

- Multiple women shown fighting in sports bras. One scene the main character is seen taking her shirt off and her bra is briefly shown.
- The sexual content actually gives positive messages. After a loving kiss, the woman says she'd like to go slow. Only one distant shot of a woman in a bra and pants. One man is pleased that both sexes sleep in the same room. A woman imagines resisting a man who tries to force himself on her.
- A young man removes his shirt to show a young woman his tattoo and she touches it as she looks at it and he describes what it is (we see his bare back and shoulders). They then passionately kiss.
- In a hallucinatory simulation meant to test her on one of her biggest fears, a man kisses a woman and pushes her on the bed. She says no and struggles as he grabs at her clothes and then she defends herself by kneeing him in the groin. She then wakes up.
Violence & Gore

- In a simulation a girl is tied to a wooden plank in the ground in the middle of a burning fire, though she gets out.
- A dog, in a simulation, attacks a teenager and a young girl. Neither of them are hurt.
- A young man commits suicide by jumping into a chasm. Nothing is shown apart from his body afterwards, no blood is present.
- Numerous fights between Dauntless initiated are shown throughout the movie, as training. Teenagers punch, kick and slap each other. Bruises and minimal blood are shown.
- A young man shoots a girl in a simulation (no blood is shown).
- A young man throws knives at a teenager while she stands in front of the target board (one of them barely hits her ear, some blood).
- A teenager throws a knife at a woman and it goes through her hand. Barely any blood but still a bit shocking.
- There is an attempted mass execution and although it doesn't succeed many people are shot and killed.
Profanity

- 1 use of "fuck" but is barely audible, 2 uses of "bitch", and 2 uses of "asshole".

- A young man injects himself and a young woman in the neck with a mind-altering serum.
- We see a glass capsule full of a serum that is described as causing the recipient to be susceptible to suggestion.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- A teenager is beaten up and has a large bruise on her cheek that she holds an icepack to afterwards.
- A teenager commits suicide by jumping into a deep chasm. The death is not shown, only the recovery of the body.
- The scenes in which they have to escape their fears are extremely intense and can become frightening.
