Sweet, cozy and a good watch for the whole family
patrickfilbeck1 July 2022
An Vrombaut's first major project on his own is a very sweet and nice little series consisting of bedtime stories. The idea is simple and - as is often the case with children's series - all the more effective because of it; it is well thought out in any case. The adventures a little girl has with her friends from the zoo are a nice and simple story with an educational factor. This one doesn't come up short, but it also doesn't overtake the whole series in an unpleasant and fun way. The voice acting is more than solid and the art design sketchy yet quite clear and distinct, sweet it certainly is.

Vrombaut hasn't created a masterpiece here, but an undeniably good series for kids who want to be tucked into bed at night. Alternating this series every now and then with reading a children's book aloud should bring joy to the whole family in meaningful activity. It's nice when children are taught something without propaganda and have the chance to learn. Vrombaut's idea is, contrary to many a terribly religious children's series, simply fundamentally democratic.

64 Zoo Lane: A Mixed Bag of Charming Animations and Flawed Humor - A Decent 6/10 Show
hdoerr-021087 January 2024
I watched the animated children's show 64 Zoo Lane when it first came on Noggin. My experience with the show was a mixed bag, with positive and negative aspects. On one hand, the animations are charming, with vivid colors and cute character designs. The show's storyline is engaging and well-paced, with fun and adventurous elements that kept me hooked.

However, some characters were grating, with certain personalities and quirks that did not sit well with me. Moreover, the show's humor sometimes felt forced and contrived, with jokes that felt too obvious and predictable. Despite these flaws, 64 Zoo Lane is a decent show that can appeal to its target audience with its wholesome and positive themes and messages.

This bedtime show is a 6 out of 10. While it is not the best kids' show out there, it still has its merits and can be enjoyed by those who appreciate its style and content.

The perfect bedtime stories

10 years since I reached the age where I stopped watching this show, and hardly a week goes by when either myself or one of my friends doesn't reference it. Each short story is animated in a wonderfully story-book style, and the whole concept is generally very sweet. Obviously I cannot recommend this to the adults who may read this review, however I genuinely believe it is a brilliant show for its intended audience. The simple plot lines make it easy to follow, and the new animals make it rather educational for very young children.
