This episode is the absolute standout from the first three. I was engaged the whole time. I had high hopes for this one just based on the preview.
It takes a premise that is inherently hilarious in itself, that of Antarctica based mind controlled dinosaurs, then capitalises on the idea and perfectly executes a solid show. It throws things into the mix that add to the hilarity like Mengele's gladiatorial arena, music loving ape men & shamanistic jungle women. This makes it feel like a new, fully realised world has been entered into.
We start to get more of a feel for the Danger 5 characters as distinct personalities. Especially Tucker with his sensible chuckle magazine. Also Claire and her desire to remain chaste and pure. Pierre is always adorable and this time we get to witness his bongo prowess.
My least favourite part was the ape men and their constant music references. Also the crystal that was clearly one of those Himalayan salt lamps. But that's not enough to detract from the overall quality of the episode.
It would have been easy to come up with an idea like dinosaurs, however the genius lies in the execution. It reinvigorates the concept and makes you truly excited for what other bonkers scenarios the show can come up with!
