Avinash Tiwary and Medha Shankr are leading Ginny Wedss Sunny 2, a rom-com sequel written and directed by Prasshant Jha. The film follows Netflix’s 2020 Hindi pic Ginny Wedss Sunny, which starred Yami Gautam and Vikrant Massey. Producers for the sequel are promising a “fresh story and twist, promising a blend of romance, family fun, quirky comedy and heartwarming moments.” Vinod Bachchan is making the film under his Soundrya Production banner. Sunday’s 2025 BAFTA TV Awards have already seen one Baby Reindeerstar take home her first BAFTA mask. Jessica Gunning, who portrayed Martha Scott in the Netflix mini-series, beat out fellow castmate Nava Mau in the BAFTA TV category of Best Supporting Actress, per Deadline.

Gunning was also up against Katherine Parkinson of Rivals, Maxine Peake of Say Nothing, Monica Nolan of Sherwood, and Sue Johnston of Truelove. Gunning now adds the BAFTA to the list of awards she has picked up for Baby Reindeer.She picked up an Emmy, Critics' Choice Award, SAG Award, and a Golden Globe for her breakout performance in the series that’s based on a true story.

May 1, 2025, witnessed the arrival of two new releases in Bollywood – The Bhootnii and Raid 2. Ajay Devgn starrer enjoyed favorable trends and was expected to steal the thunder. It remained the #1 choice of the audience, giving Kesari Chapter 2, Jaat, and The Bhootnii a run for their money. But Gopichand Malineni’s directorial held its fort well with a 56% drop.

Let me start by saying that I was very late to the Black Mirror party — multiple seasons late. However, I eventually dove into the deep end and haven’t come out since.

Episodic anthology shows are a truly unique viewing experience. They allow audiences to jump in at any moment, and best of all, they don’t require watching every single episode.

To be clear, I have seen every episode of Black Mirror, and all I can say is that the hands behind the series were right to get back to basics with tech stories.

I believed Eiichiro Oda was done with the tragic backstories of major characters, especially after Sanji’s second one traumatized us all. However, he decided to reintroduce Bartholomew Kuma back into One Piece’s storyline. This character hasn’t had a break ever since his childhood, and the torture might just continue.

There is, however, one part of Kuma’s arc that is incredibly out of place for me. While I know he sold his will to the World Government as a slave in exchange for Bonney’s treatment, his actions in One Piece proved he had some will left in him.

He uses this to ask Vegapunk to program him to protect the Thousand Sunny until the Straw Hats return after their two-year hiatus to train individually in One Piece. However, wouldn’t it make more sense to rescue Bonney instead of protecting Luffy and his crew?

Indie animation producer and distributor Gkids and Japanese stop-motion animation studio Dwarf announced that they will jointly develop a new animated film based on the original autobiographical manga “Sunny” by Taiyo Matsumoto. The project was selected for a session at the Annecy Animation Showcase at Cannes, which is part of upcoming Cannes Animation Day, a joint initiative between the Marché du Film at Cannes and the Annecy Festival.

The Eisner Award-nominated manga “Sunny” depicts an ensemble of children working through various trying circumstances and won the Japan Media Arts Festival Excellence Award and the Shogakukan Manga Award, among others.

Michael Arias will write and direct the movie. He previously helmed 2006’s “Tekkonkinkreet,” based on Matsumoto’s manga of the same name, which played in competition at the Berlin Film Festival and won the Japanese Academy Award for best animated feature. Arias has served as translator for additional Matsumoto works.

Among them is Sunny , which has Tekkonkinkreet director Michael Arias helming an adaptation of Taiyo Matsumoto's manga. Details are light at the moment, but Gkids is producing the dwarf studios feature, with completion penciled in for sometime in 2029.
