Rick Ford contracted severe poison ivy in his left arm while filming the shootout in the woods. Completely oblivious to the poison's presence, Rick rubbed his elbow with an open wound into the poison while laying up against the wall. His arm swelled up so badly he missed a week of work. Rick's doctor told him it was the worst case of poison ivy he had ever diagnosed.
The character of Bill Hassel was created in 1981 by 9 year old Rick Ford when playing in his back yard in Clifton, NJ.
Three different actors played the part of the axe wielding Continuum Guard. Connor Ford for most of the fight, then a split second of Rick Ford being struck in the chest with the axe, and then finally Andersen Silva bravely flying through the wooden door. The door scene was shot first, several weeks earlier.
The final shot on the beach with Hassel looking at Anya was filmed in the middle of about a dozen curious onlookers sitting in their beach chairs.
Hassel nodding to Dobson is a reference to the previous short film. Dobson was the lucky survivor of Hassel's revenge in Hassel Unbridled. Chad Podell played the Continuum boss both times.
