Dreadful
lweidenauer1331 May 2014
There really is no storyline, a group of kids go to Vegas for a 21st Birthday. The drive to Vegas is almost a waste of filming as really nothing interesting happens so it could have been shortened. There is zero suspense as it is so obvious what is about to happen and so not real, it's just silly. These kids are completely stupid as I'm pretty sure they would not have gone to so much trouble to drive to some unknown warehouse just to meet strippers. This is Vegas after all and why would you venture anywhere to find something that is right on your doorstep. At least make the storyline a little more believable. Awful low budget film.

FUTURE EVENTS WILL EFFECT YOU IN THE FUTURE

Warning: Spoilers
This film builds upon the urban legend of organ harvesting. A group of friends with a camera head to Vegas for a birthday celebration...get lured by hookers who work for an organ harvester.

They took a lame plot and made it worse using a hand held camera for far too much of the film. Also listed as a "comedy" you won't find a lot of funny scenes. I did like the one scene where they film Capri (Nicole Sienna) talking to Luke (Josh Cole) from a distant and they dubbed in their voices. Outside of that, I was bored.

Parental Guide: F-bomb, sex, nudity

Disasterously dumb

This was just god awful!!! Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from this movie - direct to DVD. It's a birthday party celebration in Vegas that you'll have wished never happened! The acting is beyond atrocious, the music is terrible, the hand-held camera thing is derivative, the kills are bland and very cost effective, and the script really lame. The killer in this is soooo dumb and the characters all grind on your nerves. There is no tension, no gore, nothing scary, nothing humorous, nothing! They totally "ATTEMPTED" to rip off Hostel but not in a good way. It's junk like this that is so insulting, to think that these filmmakers, if you can call them that, believed that they could piggy back off of decent horror films like Hostel, and try to sell audiences cheap toilet paper is just a slap in the face. I actually feel dumber for having watched this movie. Save yourself some angst and a few brain cells and skip this movie.

Such a scary movie, man it was good
dominicthegecko31 July 2014
Man that doctor scared the fish outta me! I had no lights on in the room, but it got too scary so I had to turn on my lava lamp. It started out funny and stuff, great acting I thought they were not acting until halfway through the movie! (Same with Project X, I thought they were just recording it all). Then it progressed into very scary, I was about to cry, holy moly. Watch this movie, and I bet you will be über scared like I was. I liked it but it was so scary. The girls were hot and the beer was cold, the games were few but the scariness was high. Vegas was a perfect place for the movie to be set in. I don't agree with the other reviews, I thought that this movie was outstanding. Most reviews on movies, especially comedies and horror movies are underrated in my opinion.

A fresh, creative, original, unique, new style slasher film.
lukejbarnett20025 February 2015
This film is about a group of guys who go to Vegas to get some Escorts. After they get them they find out that the whorehouse has deadly repercussions for them.

This film is well directed, has a good pacing, has good acting, it has such a great, creative, fresh, original feel to it, and mostly gets things right as far as keeping you entertained. This is a very well made film. I was really impressed with the professional way it was directed, written, and paced. It had believable, relatable, realistic characters, scary villains, good tension, good acting, clever, realistic dialogue, and a good, fresh, inventive way of filming and presenting it.

The important thing to know about this film is the characters are well fleshed out, unique, and real feeling. You get to know the characters quite well before the killings start. The characters don't feel clichéd at all. They don't act immature for their age. They feel like real, authentic early 20 year old men and woman. It could of had a better ending and way of showing the characters as they were being killed as far as making them seem more real(their personalities weren't shown that much in the scenes where they were killed)and it could've explained more about the motives of the killers, but overall it was really impressive and better than most horror films made nowadays. It has an authentic feel because of the POV, homemade, camcorder way of showing things happening. Most of the film has a found footage, POV perspective to it which makes the things that happen seem more real and convincing. One of the most important things that makes this an above average horror film is the main characters truly felt real, varied, unique, and likable. They felt like real people who act like most men their age do. That level of honesty and authenticity is usually sorely missed in horror films made nowadays. They each had unique characteristics and ways of acting. Another thing is there is a creative twist at the end which gives you a different perspective on what happens at the end of it. This twist is very stylish, very intelligent, extremely original, and very creative, which is in line with this consistently creative film.

It's almost never boring and never is stale in how it feels. It keeps you intrigued and invested in everything that happens to the characters. It makes you care for the main characters when bad things start to happen to them. And, that's the main key to what makes a good film and the main difference between this fine film and most of the other horror films made nowadays.

Amateurish and awful!!!
FredHowe65119 May 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Another god-awful camcorder horror movie, this time about four annoying twenty-somethings who go to Vegas as a 21st birthday celebration. One naturally has a camcorder and records everything. As is pretty much always the case with camcorder horror films the characters can't ever seem to stop talking even though they never have anything interesting to say. The endless chatter grows old fast and you want them to get killed just so they will shut up. Once the friends drive to the remote location where they will be killed off by strippers there is no logical reason to continue the camcorder gimmick so the movie switches to an equally annoying surveillance camera gimmick with some shaky hand-held camera work thrown in for no good reason since nobody is using the camcorder anymore. It's probable that the murderous strippers are hot but the movie is so poorly shot and lit that it's hard to tell for sure. Stripped has no gore or suspense and nudity that you can barely see. It's a thoroughly inept mess that nobody should waste 80 minutes of their time on.

Dared to be different
befoulmetalroosa15 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This isn't the typical 'found footage' film. No ghosties, ghoulies, three-legged beasties and things going bump in the night. This is a whole new level to organ harvesting. The first half of the film was quite funny. The four young men acted as retarded and testosterone-fueled as young men normally do when faced with a trip to Vegas. On the way, they stop and pick up the best friend/casual screw girl of one of the men, because she wants to meet her full time boyfriend there. They get there, and frivolity and revelry ensues. They get massively drunk and phone a local whorehouse for directions and an appointment.

That's when everything goes wrong, both with the trip and the movie. Up until then, it was a fun and mildly humorous flick, enjoyable for the homage to the ribald buddy movies of Hollywood. Once you get into the slice and dice portion of the film, it rapidly descends into truly wretched torture porn. The 'doctor' who does the harvesting skulks around in the dark warehouse with a surgical mask covering the lower half of his face for the entire second half. He's not even mildly interesting, nor is he really creepy, which defeats the purpose of having him there in the first place. The whores are passably pretty, with the exception of the woman who takes the birthday boy downstairs for a private dance. There's just something stunningly beautiful about a woman who really loves to dance. The way she moves her body is musical. That was the only good part to the whole second half. The blonde was simply breathtaking in the way she moved her body, and the rapturous expression on her face elevated it to another level. It was a good effort, but could've done without much of the second half.

Garbage in a disk
christhefilmfanFL20 May 2013
Warning: Spoilers
A group of friends go to Las Vegas for a birthday party. The guys visit some strippers, only to be killed by organ thieves. Unfortunately, "Stripped" is the latest hand-held disaster to hit the Horror genre, this time completely ripping off "Hostel" in the worst of all possible ways. The film feels like a bunch of obnoxious 20-somethings just grabbed a phone camera and began filming their idiotic adventures in Vegas, which just makes us hate each and every character minutes after they are introduced. Anyone who doesn't turn this film off after the first ten minutes and waits to see the murders will be sorely let down again by the boring death scenes and the ludicrous killer. The director breaks all of the rules of the "found-footage" genre by frequently switching to a third-person perspective in a failed attempt to heighten the tension. In the end, you'll be wishing you never wasted your time or money watching this garbage.

so lame. nuff said...

Warning: Spoilers
Stripped is just plain horrible, and not in a scary way, even by Z-movie standards. It feels and plays like a bad student film project with a three thousand dollar budget. It takes place in Las Vegas and involves murderous strippers luring people to to a remote location to "strip" them of their organs.

The writing is lame, the dialogue is cliché, and it doesn't even have those wonderfully corny one-liners you usually get in that type of movie. The acting is laughable and doesn't even reach TV Soap quality, which would have been nice here actually. Worse, all the characters are annoying. The suspense and enjoyment are non-existent, and the movie (at 80 minutes) felt twice as long as it actually is, and this is from someone who usually enjoys those kind of movies as long as there's some cleverness, enthusiasm and talent behind it. This review is already too long for such a piece of manure. Don't get suckered by the cover art. Don't expect good titillation, gore or fun. Don't pay it, don't even watch it for free. If you already did, then you now understand what I meant. You want something good in a similar vein, rent Lesbian Vampire Killers instead.

Bad Try at a possibly good movie
sibeon16 June 2014
I am a big fan of found footage movies... This isn't one that I would suggest, but it is one that could have been so much more.

The biggest mistake for me was the all of a sudden floating cam just before the strippers went at it. It took completely away from the found footage vantage point, if there is only one or two cameras, you have to stick with that.

Acting was average, but the girls were good looking.

A few people here mentioned that it was a Hostel copy, it was in the feeling that the beginning of the movie had, but not in the plot, the plot was organ thieves in this movie, in Hostel the plot was pay to kill someone. I feel it was trying to pull from that movie a bit, also from The Hangover in the sense of having a wild crazy night, except this time with horror rather than comedy.

In the end, this movie gets 0 stars in my opinion, but I think someone should pick up the rights to re-make it with better actors, more gore and a way way way better villain. Add some shock scares, more nudity and more gore! Then you got a movie.

This Movie Should Have Been Called "Hostel Lite"
mariajonasfahlsing21 July 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Is anything in this movie original? I mean, come on now, the intro and outro are from Plan 9 from Outer Space. Also, the plot is essentially Hostel on American soil.

The guys use the words "gay" and "fag" as pejoratives several times in addition to swearing too much. Really?! Did this movie need gay- bashing and homophobia to make the audience realize that these young men are unlikable? No, not so much.

The guys are annoying with their talking over each other, drunken antics, trashing the posh hotel room, treatment of each other, and assertion that women are only good for one thing: their sexual gratification. I couldn't care less about any of the characters, so why should I have any kind of emotional response when the guys start falling victim to the organ-harvesting doctor/surgeon at the brothel? In fact, I cheered, because they were finally going to stop whining, moaning, complaining, and picking fights with each other.

Okay, everybody's dead. Lame excuse for a movie is over. Yay! Don't waste your time on this one. It's not worth it unless you just want to laugh at how awful it is or provide your own Rifftrax, which would be fun.
