After years with the female ensemble Celtic Woman, the Irish-born, red-haired Orla Fallon steps out for the first time on her own in a new PBS special, and companion CD/DVD release, "Orla Fallon's Celtic Christmas: Live in Concert."
The singer and harpist, who looks like Tilda Swinton in the world of Narnia on the cover, stars in a gorgeous new special, covering heavenly arrangements of holiday classics like "Carol of the Bells," "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear," and "Joy To the World." It's exactly as one would imagine a "Celtic Christmas," with lush strings, Fallon's harp-playing and ethereal singing adding a new twist to traditional arrangements.
