Eid isn’t Eid if you don’t have a Salman Khan film to gush over. Since back in 2009, it is fully accepted in the industry that Salman owns Eid. Indian and world audiences have loved him over and again. Whether it was the remake of a Telugu film Pokiri in Wanted, the romantic spy action of Ek Tha Tiger or the cross-border comedy that was Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Salman has firmly settled himself as the man for Eid in Bollywood. Last year was no different with the blockbuster Sultan. From all indications however, this year will be different. Even though Kabir Khan is helming the megaphone again, this film is different to anything that has come before from Salman or Bollywood. Cj Entertainment has sold remake rights for its South Korean epic Ode To My Father to India’s Reel Life Production Pvt. Ltd.

Saturday’s episode of The Voice India, opened with a quick re-cap of the first two weeks of the show and a precap of this weekends show. The focus then shifted to the coaches who gave a comic breaking news update that coach Sunidhi had coach Mika’s sunglasses! I really do love watching the hilarious comic moments between the Fabulous Four!

The first contestant to perform of week three, was Snigdhajit Bhowmik who is 25 years old from Kolkata, West Bengal. Snighdajit performed ‘Dhan Te Nan’ from Kaminey. Coach Mika was the first to hit the buzzer followed by coaches Shaan, Sunidhi and Hr. All four coaches praised Snighdajit’s performance and then started their comic requests for him to join their team. Coach Hr even sang a popular Bengali phrase as Snighdajit is Bengali! After much cajoling, Snighdajit chose to be in team Shaan.

Recently, Imran Khan, who will next be seen in Katti Batti, made news when he snidely made a comment on veteran filmmaker Rahul Rawail saying 'Is Rahul Rawail still around?' Though the filmmaker seemed upset with the comment and also tweeted 'My sympathies with this mentally challenged person', his nephew Rajat Rawail took to the social networking site Facebook lambasting Imran Khan for his statement.

The second week of The Voice India opened with a quick recap of the first week; showing the contestants that had been selected and also the coaches expectations from the singers.

The first contestant of Saturday’s show was Boston born Nalini Krishnan. Nalini is 21 years old and is born and bought up in Boston, USA. She is studying music and wants to be a singer/music director. Nalini sang ‘Jallah Wallah’ from Ishaqzaade. The coaches were extremely impressed by Nalini’s performance. Coach Hr was the first to hit the buzzer, followed very closely by coaches Mika and then Shaan. Coach Sunidhi did not hit the buzzer. After much comic grovling (!) and pleading from the coaches, Nalini chose our favourite coach Hr, and is the third contestant to join Team Himesh.

The second contestant was Sayan Chaudhary. Sayan sang the popular song ‘Har Kisi Ko Nahin Milta’ from Boss.

‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ is now the 13th highest collecting Bollywood film in India, ahead of ‘male superstar’ films like Agneepath, Ra One, Rowdy Rathore, Singham Returns and Dabangg.

The film is almost certain to beat the collections of Salman Khan’s 2011 Eid release ‘Bodyguard’ and also has an outside chance of going past the 2012 Christmas release ‘Dabangg 2′.

Saturday 6th June saw the first episode of The Voice India. As many of you are aware, The Voice, is already an extremely popular international singing reality show concept. The Voice has now arrived in India and has the multi talented Himesh Reshammiya (Hr), Shaan, Mika Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan as its ‘fabulous four’ coaches. The show is hosted by popular television actor Karan Tacker. Two of the coaches are also seen in their new looks: our favourite coach Hr, wears golden shoes, and has a statement tattoo on his arm to show off his new lean look. Now that Bollywood's most sought-after star Salman Khan is out on bail, he is concentrating on his upcoming film Bajrangi Bhaijaan. While the buzz is that Salman shot for his introduction song 'Selfie' in Kashmir, Remo D'souza, who has choreographed the song, said that the song has already been canned in Mumbai's filmcity studio before the (hit-and-run case) verdict.

Remo says, "The song has already been shot in the film city. In fact it was shot before the court verdict."

Actor Salman Khan celebrates his 49th birthday today. Ever since the flamboyant ‘bad boy’ of Hindi Cinema made his debut in 1988 with the film Biwi Ho To Aisi, he has always maintained a good balance between his work as a entertainer and his work as a humanitarian.

As Kick continues to do well at the box office, the makers have released a new song promo which features the song ‘Tu Hi Tu’. This particular song has been composed by Music Director Himesh Reshammiya and has lyrics by Mayur Puri. The song has three versions, and the promo features the voice of Neeti Mohan. Singer Mohd Irfan and Salman Khan have sung the other two versions of this song.

In a recent interview to Bollywood Hungama, Music Director Himesh Reshammiya said that his songs which are usually the last to release from a soundtrack, always receive a great response from listeners. ‘Teri Meri’ from Bodyguard and ‘Main Jahan Rahoon’ from Namastey London were examples of this. There is no doubt about it, that these two songs are definitely evergreen hit melodies. We are sure, the same magic will continue with ‘Tu Hi Tu’.

Saturday’s show opened with much excitement as superstar Salman Khan would be gracing the stage of Jhalak once again. Before Salman’s entry, host Manish lost his watch, and host Ranvir lost his glasses! Then Salman entered the show and performed on the super hit Kick song (which has music by Himesh Reshammiya), ‘Jumme Ki Raat’. Salman was warmly welcomed by the hosts, contestants and judges. Director par excellence Kabir Khan, best remembered for his film Kabul Express, New York and the 2012 Salman Khan starrer Ek Tha Tiger, is all set to work with Salman again. It is learnt that Kabir is set to work with Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor for his next film titled Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

The film which will be presented by Salman himself under his own company 'Salman Khan Ventures', will have Salman play the role of the title character Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Commenting on the film Kabir says that the story of the film will be very relevant to today's times and will feature a larger-than-life background with a human story. With the shooting commencing this November, the film will be shot across many parts of India and is slated to release on Eid next year.

Kick is the latest Eid offering from Salman Khan after Wanted, Dabangg, Bodyguard and Ek Tha Tiger, all of which have been top grossers at the box office. Kick is a remake of the Telugu film of the same name making this Salman’s 5th remake of a South Indian film in the past decade. Kick also sees the re-teaming of Salman with Nadiadwala and Grandson Entertainment, their last collaboration being Jaan-e-Mann.

If few days ago we informed that Karan Johar’s Shuddhi was going on with Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles, it seems that these reports were just rumours,and it was Kareena herself who confirmed that the film is a shelved.

When asked about the question, Kareena categorically denied the information. “It is all created by you all (media). Shuddhi is shelved. Karan is working on The Warrior remake I think with Sidharth Malhotra and Akshay Kumar… this is what Karan said. It (shooting) will start in August,” she told Toi reporters.
