Young Justice, ever since it first started airing on television, was hailed for its expansive worldbuilding, and for the inclusion of diverse stories across a range of characters that pulled from every aspect of the DC Universe. Continuing that tradition, it seems that Young Justice has added yet another corner of the universe into its canon, one that belongs to a shortlived CG series, belonging to one of DC’s most powerful heroes.

The show was unfortunately canceled due to bad toy sales, just like Young Justice. The show was also canceled for failing to capitalize on the Green Lantern film, which flopped horribly in theatres and was panned by critics and audiences alike.

The years spent by Bruce Wayne training to become a crimefighter are some of the most fascinating in the Batman mythos, and have been explored in multiple ways across various mediums. A new DC animated feature, Batman: Soul of the Dragon now offers the intriguing prospect of a 1970s-set story wherein a young Bruce embarks on the path to martial arts mastery. We recently received the trailer and first clip from the film, and now have an introduction to Richard Dragon, one of the main characters from the Bruce Timm-produced movie.
In the video, which you can catch above, voice actor Mark Dacascos describes how we meet Dragon in the 1970s as a super spy who trained with Bruce alongside master O-Sensei. We then see Dragon in training, and being pointed out by O-Sensei to Bruce, foreshadowing the partnership between the two depicted in the recent trailer. At this point,...

The first of the month is typically when the variety of streaming services on offer bolster their respective libraries with a mixture of original and pre-existing content, freshening things up for subscribers in the process. January 1st also happens to be the first day of 2021, though, so people might be expecting a little more than just a handful of new additions, and HBO Max are stepping up to the plate in a big way.
Of course, Wonder Woman 1984 is set to entice millions to sign up for Warner Bros.’ platform, especially when the entire slate of theatrical releases are also heading to the streaming site on the same day that they hit the big screen. And keen to capitalize on the inevitable influx of new customers, HBO Max is adding a massive amount of film and television titles on January 1st, with the onslaught set to continue over the next 30 days.

Whether they’ve been Vandal Savage, the Dominators, Nazis from Earth-x or Doctor Destiny, each have presented credible threats to the likes of the Green Arrow, the Flash and Supergirl.
But in the case of something as all-encompassing as “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” the ante must be upped considerably. In this case, our favorite heroes will be tasked with battling a foe capable of destroying entire universes: the Anti-Monitor.

I’ve got a fantastic new trailer to share with you today for the beautiful-looking Chinese animated film White Snake. The magical adventure movie is inspired by ancient Chinese lore known as The Legend of the White Snake. It tells the love story of a hunter and a mythical snake disguised as a human hunter.
The movie comes from Amp Wong (animation lead on Green Lantern: The Animated Series) and Ji Zhao (assistant editor on The Grandmaster). This is their first time directing a feature film. The movie presents a "sumptuous tale of trickster demons, deadly mythical beasts, assassins, wuxia action, and the promise of eternal love."
Here’s the official synopsis:
From Light Chaser Animation, one of China’s premiere animation studios, comes a visually stunning new take on a classic legend. One day a young woman named Blanca is saved by Xuan, a snake catcher from a nearby village.

The concept of the DC Comics’ mystical characters gathering to combat occult evil always sounds good but of course, execution is everything. When it was done sparingly, as in Swamp Thing #50, it was quite effective. As an ongoing series, it proved tough to manage since each player was plucked from a title that had a fairly unique look and feel.
That said, the newly released animated Justice League Dark film is incredibly entertaining and certainly a cut above the last half-dozen releases. From a story by Jld writer J.M. DeMatteis and Ernie Altbacker, Altbacker’s script shifts the super-heroic DC Universe to supernatural threats that Superman (Jerry O’Connell), Wonder Woman (Rosario Dawson), Green Lantern (Roger Cross) and the others are less equipped to handle. Altbacker is no stranger to heroes and magicians with credits including Spooksville and Green Lantern: The Animated Series and he does a fine job weaving the various threads.

"Keith. If I don't make it out of here, I want you to lead Voltron." Fans of the original '80s Voltron series had to be expecting this to happen but with Sven..er Shiro surviving season 1, some held out hope that the Netflix remake would be heading down a different path. Judging by the ominous season 2 teaser, that doesn't appear to be the case. The entire voice cast from season 1 is expected to return for season 2, including: Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead) as Keith Jeremy Shada (Adventure Time) as Lance Bex Taylor-Klaus (Arrow) as Pidge Josh Keaton (Green Lantern: The Animated Series) as Shiro (formerly "Sven") Tyler Labine (Tucker and Dale vs. Evil) as Hunk Kimberly Brooks (Mass Effect) as Princess Allura Rhys Darby (Flight of the Conchords) as Coran King Zarkon as Neil Kaplan (Transformers: Robots in Disguise) Back in July, it was confirmed that season 2 would be...

Hot on the heels of last week’s teaser trailer comes our first detailed look at Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders. If the footage above is any indication, this new animated film is keeping the spirit of the classic 1960’s TV show alive and well. The visuals are especially crisp and vibrant and Adam West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar return to reprise their iconic roles of Batman, Robin, and Catwoman, respectively.
While the movie’s plot remains mostly shrouded in mystery, the official synopsis does provide a few hints:
“It’s back to the 1960s as Batman and Robin spring into action when Gotham City is threatened by a quartet of Batman’s most fiendish foes – Penguin, The Joker, Riddler and Catwoman. This time, the four Super-Villains have combined their wicked talents to hatch a plot so nefarious that the Dynamic Duo will need to go to outer...

In January, Cartoon Network announced a new DC animated series titled Justice League: Action. The show, which will feature Kevin Conroy returning to the role of Batman, features the 'Big Three' leading the Justice League in short, action-oriented adventures. You remember Voltron, right? Just in case you're not quite as ancient as I am, it was a cartoon about a bunch of astronauts flying around in color-coded space-lions, who then combined to form one giant robot named Voltron. And yes, it was just as awesome as it sounds. Now Netflix have teamed up with Dreamworks Animation for a brand new animated series titled Voltron: Legendary Defender, and we have the first full trailer and updated cast/character list below. • Princess Allura – Kimberly Brooks (Ben 10: Omniverse, Justice League: War) • Coran, the chief advisor to the princess – Rhys Darby (What We Do in the Shadows, Flight of the Conchords) • Shiro, Black Lion pilot – Josh Keaton (Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Transformers Prime) • Hunk, Yellow Lion pilot – Tyler Labine (Reaper, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil) • Lance, Blue Lion pilot – Jeremy Shada (Finn in Adventure Time, Batman: The Brave and the Bold) • Pidge,...

Morning all, lovely weather out today. Birds are singing, coffee in my cup, and just Voltron! So awhile ago I wrote up a story about the new Netflix series Voltron Legendary Defender and there was a fair bit of excitement too cause giant machines combining to for even more giant robots is kind of my thing. I had a high praise for the voice cast, animation style, and mecha design which while different held a standard of tradition that would help keep the purist fans happy. Well this morning we got the first trailer so watch that and my rambling fanboy praise will continue afterwards.
Okay so I no longer need any more info and demand immediate access to this right now. Now let me say that there seems to be an addition to the team and we’ll go into that in a second. But the voice acting seems...

Friday, March 25, 2016 – Live from the packed WonderCon 2016 Voltron panel, executive Producer Joaquim Dos Santos (The Legend of Korra, Avatar: The Last Airbender), Co-Executive Producer Lauren Montgomery (The Legend of Korra), and writer Tim Hedrick (The Legend of Korra, Avatar: The Last Airbender) sat alongside newly unveiled cast members to showcase never-before-seen artwork and footage of DreamWorks Animation’s all-new Netflix Original Series Voltron: Legendary Defender, debuting June 10, 2016.
Dos Santos shared “As children of the 80’s who grew up with Voltron what was there not to love? You had 5 awesome lions, piloted by 5 awesome heroes who combined to form a giant, sword wielding Titan! It unapologetically married Sci-fi and Fantasy in one incredibly over the top, bombastic package. Fans of the new series [Voltron: Legendary defender] can look for us to keep all those elements but also expect a much more fleshed out universe with a rich backstory and characters who will evolve over the course of the series.

Warner Bros. Animation
For over 20 years now, Warner Bros. Animation has been producing some of the finest programmes and films in the business, with their most successful outings of course revolving around the titular heroes of the DC Universe. Recently however? Their releases have been less than exemplary.
The decline can be traced back to the demise of DC’s old universe, with the New 52 sadly alienating a great deal of fans with its rupturing of continuity and unchecked editorial interference. Sadly, its roots have also worked their way into DC’s once immaculate animated efforts, with films like Justice League: War and Son of Batman embedding themselves very comfortably in the annals of animated mediocrity. Uniform art styles and rigid story telling never used to be the norms of Warner Bros.’ animated adaptations, but they certainly are now.
It’s not just the films that have suffered either...

This is the last day of Comic-Con, and they will be closing it out with some big TV panels like Supernatural, Sons of Anarchy and The Strain. You can go through the full schedule here, but you'll find some of the highlights listed below.
Supernatural Special Video Presentation and Q&A - Series stars Jared Padalecki (Friday the 13th [2009]), Jensen Ackles (My Bloody Valentine 3D), Misha Collins (Ringer), and Mark A. Sheppard (Battlestar Galactica), along with executive producer Jeremy Carver (U.S. version of Being Human), return to Hall H to answer questions from the audience about what's in store...

They say unseen footage will be shown. Now, this is subjective, because we only had 11 episodes air in the United States, two more on the DVD / Blu-Ray release and a few more have aired overseas for those that can find them for download, so more than likely it will be one of these epsiodes, but we don't have confirmation yet. I will update you when I find out more.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has confirmed that the original all-ages animated feature Jla Adventures: Trapped In Time will hit DVD on January 21st, 2014. The DVD-only release will be available exclusively at American Target locations starting next week. Dubbed a “stealth release,” wherein a home entertainment product is given no promotion and limited availability due to its perceived audience reach, Jla Adventures: Trapped In Time is an all-new animated feature featuring the Justice League facing off against the classic Legion of Doom. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has currently not provided any official details about the animated movie, but Jla Adventures: Trapped In Time producer Giancarlo Volpe (Green Lantern: The Animated Series) has recently taken to social media to drop a few tidbits. With a runtime of roughly 52 minutes, Volpe called the animated feature an “all-new adventure, featuring the Justice League and the Legion of Doom, plus a couple curve balls.” Volpe...

Fans of Cartoon Network’s Beware the Batman may have reason to worry as the newly launched CGI series has suddenly disappeared from the network’s schedule, much like Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series did last year.
Both Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series mysteriously went on hiatus before returning months later to air their final episodes and if history is any indication, it’s possible that the show may be preparing to shut down for good. If true, this would leave Teen Titans Go! the only DC-based tv show currently being aired on Cartoon Network’s DC Nation block of programming.
While it’s still to early to tell what the fate of the show may be, the fact that DC’s “Katana” comic book series was cancelled last week doesn’t bode well for the series, which prominently featured the sword-wielding Japanese super-hero.

Are you ready for some Doom Patrol action?
I don’t try to hide the fact that I’m still disgruntled over the loss of Young Justice. It made me a little standoffish when Beware the Batman first premiered. Would the Batman get the same treatment as Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series? Is it worth investing my time, only to be rewarded by another Cartoon Network cancellation?
This is the kind of question you have to ask yourself when a new series airs. Although the pilot for Beware the Batman was a little shaky, the subsequent episodes have gotten exceptionally better. However, strong plots, great characters, action, mystery and suspense don’t necessarily make for great studio returns… Sometimes you have to mix in a little goofy Teen Titans Go action.
Well, with the DC Comics shorts, you don’t have to worry about cancellation. The latest...
