Several costumes used during the fancy dress party are actual superhero costumes with some tweaks. Alicia (Antonia Thomas) and Kelly (Lauren Socha) are dressed as the Silk Spectre (Modern and Golden Age respectively) from Watchmen: Die Wächter (2009), but the yellow portions have been dyed. Nathan (Robert Sheehan) is dressed as Mr. Incredible from Die Unglaublichen (2004) with the I logo covered up and worked into a new symbol.

This is the second episode to continue the tradition of ending an episode with the gang standing over the community centre roof, reflecting on the episode's events and looking over Wertham.
When Alisha (Antonia Thomas) sticks up for Simon (Iwan Rheon), Nathan (Robert Sheehan) mockingly asks her "Do you love him?". He said the exact same words to Kelly (Lauren Socha) when she told him to stop teasing Simon, only this time, Alisha did actually love him. (Episode 1.6 Folge #1.6 (2009))
