This is a brilliant series, well worth a watch. Every bit as good as the World at War, the ITV series about WW2. Jonathan Lewis voice is perfect as the narrator. Considering all characters mentioned are now long gone, the use of photos, newsreels, letters and diary enteries give the viewer a fantastic experience of the time. What a total waste of manpower and the youth of the world. The futility of war. And the mistakes made at the Versailles Conference which led to the rise of Hitler and the Nazis.
