Rather impressive...

Right, well with the 2022 feature "Heart Shot" being a short film running at 19 minutes, you're not in for an in-depth venture into the storyline. But I will say that writers Lauren Ludwig and Marielle Woods actually managed to put together a very intense short film here.

Sure, the storyline is not all that elaborative, but of course with only 19 minutes of run-time, who would expect it to be. But I will say that director Marielle Woods does manage to squeeze a good amount of intense action out of the storyline in those 19 minutes.

With that being said, then "Heart Shot" sort of felt incomplete, and that sort of took away from the overall enjoyment of the short film. I certainly would have liked to see more, because there was a rather hard-punching intensity to the narrative that would benefit well from a longer playtime.

The acting performances in "Heart Shot" were good, and the two leading actresses Elena Heuzé (playing Nikki) and Nia Sondaya (playing Samantha) really carried the movie quite well with some strong performances. I was impressed with what they delivered, especially in such a short time. Needless to say that these were two actresses that I wasn't previously familiar with.

This short film was actually rather impressive and in-your-face, which definitely surprised me.

My rating of "Heart Shot" lands on a six out of ten stars.

I know, it's a short film, but it looks like a music video, by the way, there are some MVs that, even if they are short, give the impression of something complete. But this one, no, it seems too much for too little time, sorry to be negative.

Expect the unexpected

I dont know wtf I just watched but I was not ready for it based on the trailer. Felt very incomplete :/ Wouldve preferred just the nice bits tbh, because the acting was good and the cinematography was great, I really loved the style. Just go in knowing it's not exactly a romance.

So bland...

When I saw that the two main characters were femme for masc, I was excited. Usually it's difficult to find this because the media doesn't view it as "hot" since it doesn't appeal to men (which I absolutely hate).

Anyways, I didn't realize at first that it was a short film (which is obviously my fault), so I was kind of shocked at the ending. Other than the shooting scene where Nikki kills like 5 people at once, there wasn't really any suspense. The part where her sister strangles her just seemed really forced, like why wasn't Sam trying to help her? The older sister's acting was pretty bad as well. I actually cringed when she started speaking.

Overall, I feel like there wasn't anything interesting or creative in this short film. I don't think anyone should waste their time watching this.

I have absolutely no idea how anyone gave this film any stars higher than 4.

The girlfriend of a loved up same sex couple is attacked and the other one has a dark secret. Small shoot out and slow fight ensues. Yawn. No spoiler as thats the premise of 90% of all action/revenge movies since the 70s so nothing new.

If you have ever seen any home invasion/revenge movie since death wish in the 1970s then you have also seen this.

It Feels like film was written by 3 people but they didnt speak to each other, they just glued all 3 scripts together and made a film without reading the whole thing through.. I presume the 9 and 10s are from people who have never seen a movie before.

I keep saying this but..If you score this 10 then that means no film that has or will ever be made can be better than this.

The people we chose to love and those that love us in return creates such a beautiful, but delicate connection, that can be shaken and tested along the way in many unexpected ways. Pretty well acted considering the experience of the cast members.

Acting was ok and the action wasn't the worst I've ever seen. Nothing impressive about this short. Maybe if Netflix made it a real movie or a tv series it could be good, but for now it's just a 5 out of 10.

This one is weird, because it feels not finished or well polished. I feel like they should make another one where every concept feels tighter and more full.

The characters in this film are so real and fresh feeling. Also I love how it feels super feminine and Badass at the same time. It somehow feels delicate and strong all at once which blows my mind. We need more stuff like this! Pls Netflix!!!

It was not what I expected it would be from what I read from synopsis but then I was pleasantly surprised.

As i mentioned before it is a big surprise in small running time. While every scene sequence of this 15 minute short adds something new it feels more like a pitch for a movie or the series and it deserves to have one . Acting , action and direction are to the point . Elena Heuze needs special mention for her acting so does Marielle Woods for her direction . Tune and background score at the end of the short remained with me for minutes .

It surely is 15 minute full of entertainment and I hope in future we get an extended version of it in the form of a movie or series , probably .

Lovable short action film

I never seen such a cute loveable couple on screen, I felt like a kid again see this teenage love story play out.

A twist of all twist woke the action fan in me abruptly and again I loved it, want more of it!!!

Shocking and beautiful, love hurts sometimes and in this film this fact is magnified, all of who we are impacts our relationships, we bring us to those who care about us. Well acted and wonderful.

Short but intense

You wouldn't think you could get a strong feel for the characters and have an intense fight scene in 19 minutes (most full length action movies these days seem to consider 19 straight minutes of action short), but they did.

To me it's a sign of a good movie when I'm still thinking about it days later. I hope Netflix makes the full length movie of this. I'd go!

It's a very ambitious feat to mix genres in this manner in a short film. We go from romance to action in the blink of an eye. Definitely feel like it needs a feature to explore these themes further. Hoping Netflix decides to make it into a feature.

Queer action and romance

Wow I looooved this. The tense moments kept me on my toes, the romantic moments were warm and dreamy, the twists and turns were exciting! I really hope they make this into a series or feature. I need to know what happens next.

Although I did really like the open-ended nature of this short I was left wanting more! Great camera work, music, chemistry between the actors. This would make a lovely series!

19 Minutes!? Sequel Required

Fitting into several genres, the twists and turns were unexpected but very much welcome. I wasn't expecting this to be so short but I was also not expecting it to be so good. An accidental find!

The plot is interesting, I wish we saw some more action from the other female lead but all things considered this is great. A sequel would be awesome as well, content like this is very much welcome in my books as there's not enough like it out there. The plot certainly would support a sequel. The well written diversity, well written characters, scenes, decent acting, good action and good chemistry between the leads.

Perfect choreography but sad this is available for young children to see at Netflix so insanity gets brought into the heads of our kids in the neighborhood.
