I grew up with power rangers. Halloween, the MMPR switch helmet to head action figures, the DVD's. After Jetix was canceled, I didn't often watch power rangers unless someone posted a season online. For me Power Rangers was good until Overdrive, with the team-up as an exception. I've seen a good portion of the whole MMPR saga, so I can understand why there are so many similarities to the original.
Since this was going to be the first time on Nick, and the first power rangers show in a while, many things were kept same. At first I hated it so much, until I thought to lay off a bit. The theme; another rock based song with much guitar and GO-GO POWER RANGERS. While A LOT of people find this a cop out, its supposed to bring back to the good ol' days. Of course, BULK AND SKULL's nephew or something like that ARE BACK. But by now, Bulk should be in his 30's, 40's. I kind of liked when the two numbskulls were always playing Sherlock finding out who the rangers were in High School. He's not an idiot anymore, and he is not fighting the minions like in Zeo and in Space... He's changed, but still has some features of the original.
Now the show on its own...I do like that the actors themselves do have a bit more screen time to create more of a plot for the episode. I'll be honest it isn't that bad for some. Pinkie sounds like she's being like that red head from that Victorious show at times when she's unmorphed, like she's trying to create that voice. Yellow Ranger completely sounds fake. Sounds like she's trying even more than the pink ranger to have a fake voice and sound like an idiot. The red ranger is whom I have the biggest problem with. He just sounds so boring and monotone. Kind of like Vypra from Lightspeed, there is no energy in either of their voices. There it is, my attack, nuff said.
The effects are much worse than that of power rangers Ninja Storm and Time Force when they could run at fast speeds and animate monster attacks. It just looks ridiculous now as there seems to be more animation for the attacks as they get blown away real quickly.
The zords, look stupid. but somewhat make sense. Half resembles the appropriate animal, half resembles their symbol. Since these rangers' theme are Samurai and since Samurai are from Japan and since the rangers do emphasize the use of "symbol power", Japanese Characters, Why not have their symbols on their zords and helmets?
While not being the same as what I remember from being a kid, there are some good that has been done, some. Can't say I'd want to watch the who season online, but did feel like running onto ceilings as if I was 7 years old again. I'd rather stick with earlier works.
Lightspeed, Timeforce, and Ninjastorm FTW

This.. was surprisingly the kinda stuff I watched and enjoyed as a kid. But as a teen, not at all. The acting is painfully bad, and the plot is a recycled piece of crap. They start out every episode happy, then oh no! A bad guy is causing trouble in the city. They fight him once but fail. They focus on one power ranger at a time for every episode to overcome that struggle, one to 3 dozen cheesy motivational lines later, they encounter their foe again. They beat him with what they learned, the foe grows bigger. They defeat him/her every time and turn to pose in their incredibly kiddish and poorly made CGI samurai mech as their enemy explodes. A very boring and predictable formula that makes very few variations between episodes. They change things up occasionally but there's no point cause you always know they're going to win. Not that every super hero eel movie/show doesn't do that but there are no twists, no good character developments, nothing. A very harmless show that is fine for kids but not great for teens/adults. But you'd be better off putting you and/or your kids in front of something like Avatar the Last Airbender, or Gravity Falls, or Star vs The Forces Of Evil.
Overall not the worst I've ever seen but far from the best.

Well what can i say, Saban have really done a great job with Power Rangers Samurai, it has a feeling of the "Zordon Era" and the stories and characters seem a lot easier to relate to than at times during the "disney era". The opening theme is a modified version of the original Mighty Morphin and this is definitely a good thing, a small negative is that the season's first episode is slightly different to normal first episodes but you will have to watch it to see what i mean. Overall a very good return for the Power Rangers and i hope you will watch and enjoy it like i do.

when I first watched this show I was cracking in laughter over how bad the acting, special effects, story, costumes and jokes are. It was just absolutely hilarious (that doesn't mean I like it though) acting: out of the piles of movies, TV shows and youtube clips I have seen I have never seen acting as horrid as this, they were either too dramatic or too...gay... special effects: with the special effects in this show at the level they are, an ipod could do better spfx. They were extremely sloppy and ridiculously fake, the producers shouldve thought about who to hire for their special effects as clearly youtube videos have had better special effects with LESS BUDGET. Plot: no...just...no... costumes: HOW COULD THE CIVILIANS OF THE EARTH BELIEVE THAT THOSE PLASTIC HUNKS OF FAKE ARE MONSTERS?!?! I mean those mouths just go up and down and are far from being in sync with the crappy voice actors, I remember once seeing an official critics review of a show so bad its not funny, its called monsuno, the review praised monsuno and my god that writer was blind and deaf times 10. What I am saying is that anyone who legitimately loves this show is just weird... Phrases: AAAAARRRRRRRGGGHHHHHH!!! Overall: when the original p r was made by saban i just hated it, but Disney saved it and made fantastic series followups which i loved, but then samurai came and killed everything, and now with mega force on the way in aus (which is where i live, where it hasn't released yet) who knows what horror us Aussies must face.

I WILL NOT avoid the fact that the acting and CGI is absolutely nuts and quite hilarious, but not gonna lie, this was AND STILL IS my go-to comfort show. Not as good as I remember it as a kid, but now as a young adult it still has that comforting charm for me. The nostalgia is extremely strong and I'm so glad I can rewatch it.

Power Rangers Samurai is the biggest what was the point I've ever seen in the series. As we all know Power Rangers takes their footage from the Japanese show Super Sentai and make their own interpretation of it, this time around they use Samurai Sentai Shinkenger and they basically just took the script put it in Google Translate and decided to remove every single Japanese cultural references in a Sentai thats main focal point was Japanese culture.
This was the first show in the Neo Saban era and in my opinion they should have just waited for Goseiger to finish and do that instead but they screwed that up too.
The cast in Samurai were awful apart from a couple of stand outs but the most insulting is Jayden who we are made to believe is half Japanese despite being a blonde white boy with no hint of Japanese features. Why oh why could they just not cast a Japanese American actor to do the role instead we got a poor performance from a guy who wasn't even an actor he was a model.
This show is funny because they took quite possibly one of the best Super Sentai series and turned it into one of the worst Power Rangers series how do you fail that badly.

Okay, so lets get this out of the way, "Is this series stupid and corny like the last 10 Disney series?" no, its freaking awesome! Fans of the original show, children, Super Sentai fans, and people who never got into power rangers will absolutely LOVE this show!!! It has more mature themes while still being accessible to the younger audience. Saban And Nickelodeon have really done a great job to make this series as accessible, enjoyable, and just amazing as it could be. Unlike traditional Power Rangers, Samurai takes it themes, story lines, and tone seriously, while keeping for the most part, light hearted. The series actually follows the Japanese series Shinkenger quite well, while changing things unfamiliar with the American audience, but still keeping a strong, well maintained storyline. Check it out!!!
That theme song tells you all you need to know F in actually story telling A+ in fun

THIS. IS. UTTER. GARBAGE. Oscar GARBAGE. LITERAL CONTENDER FOR THE TV RAZZIES (IF THERE WERE ONE). Let me explain. I really don't like Power Rangers. But I've accidentally stumbled into this piece of garbage, so I will dissect it as well as I can.
Well, that's all. Hope you enjoyed!!
- The acting is awful: Good Graybles, the acting is terrible. The actors were probably were taken from the street, given a script, and forced to read them, it's that bad. All of the actors sound like that guy from Birdemic: Shock and Terror. *shiver*.
- The costume design: Seriously, the budget looks like five nickels and a penny, there are costumes. Let that sink in. Old, 1980 cheesy ninja flick style costumes. Awful, huh....
Well, that's all. Hope you enjoyed!!

It really does not matter how many seasons or installments of the Power Rangers TV series have been made or which company owns such franchise, they all simply and virtually stink like hell, and it is undoubtedly a waste of time and money. First and foremost, the Saban Capital Group, which is formerly called the Saban Entertainment, and Disney (before and after Saban in terms of the ownership of the aforesaid franchise), have had been using stock footages and many props of the original source of the Japanese TV series, by the genre of the Super Sentai, while hiring their own actors and actresses for their own cast of characters that they've set up (where do/did those ridiculously simple names come from?), as well as creating some of their own props, story lines and scenes/footages here and there, as parts of their adaptation of such TV series just to "create their very own." As people with real common sense can tell you, it is an absolute C.R.A.P. (Compilation(s) of Retardedly 4ssho1!sh Presentations), the plans of the production of such TV series have had often been poorly executed almost from the day it was debuted to this very day!!! This sort of adaptation just amounts to plagiarism at its worst, and it has already been overdone. I cannot believe Toei, the Japanese TV production company that is the true creator of many modern tokusatsu TV shows, including the Super Sentai genre, would allow those aforementioned companies to do this. I want the people in Toei to know that Haim Saban, the CEO of the aforementioned company, once called the franchise that he "founded," the Power Rangers, to be "five retards in spandex" (virtually all the characters of his franchise are retards, whether they are in spandex or not). And Guess what? He was right! The people within his production crew just never seem to know what they have been doing to create a TV show with qualities, but rather, they have genuinely made it a fv¢k!n9 joke. All they care about is making money off of the unsuspecting viewers/fans (mostly young and stupid) with the creation of this garbage. There has virtually been no real creativity behind each installment of the Power Rangers TV series except for simply taking other people's/companies' ideas, props, stock footages, etc. of the original TV series of Japan (and of other sources on several occasions) while making some adjustments to them before applying them to its production, and at times, certain characters of the entire TV series to date have had been rehashed from one installment of it into another or so (i.e., Tommy Oliver, Bulk, Skull, Alpha, etc.) with no logical reason or whatsoever. The latest Power Rangers installment, Power Rangers Samurai, simply goes to show you just that (for example, the use of the Kanji by the Power Rangers during their morphing sequence as well as other features that Saban and his crew clearly did not create at all, they just simply made some modifications here and there to fool the aforesaid audience, and by recycling the characters of Bulk and Skull, who have already appeared in the previous installments of the Power Rangers TV series, in such latest installment, kind of raises questions among some of the long-time viewers of the show), just like many of its predecessors, and I'm afraid the future installments of that TV series would be no different, which the production crew of the TV series won't learn from and can't steer clear of their mistakes. I hope that Toei would withdraw the rights of Saban Capital Group (or any of its wannabes should they acquire such rights) to adapt any more installments of their Super Sentai TV series (as well as of other genres should Saban and his crew try to acquire the rights for their adaptation) and sue them for plagiarism and mockery! In addition, the Power Rangers fans overall are a real bunch of fv¢kt@rds for lobbying stupid ideas into and promoting such bv11sh!t, shame on them all! These people are basically morons, who delusionally think such TV series that they espouse is better than its original counterpart (the source of adaptation). Some even have gone as far as saying that they don't need the Japanese TV production people, who have been the ones doing the actual works of creating the Super Sentai TV series that Saban and his cohorts (as well as Disney and its respective ones after and before) have plagiarized and butchered, to create the trash that they love so much, and I agree that they don't need those people or any of their products to create the so-called Power Rangers; however, it has been created at their expense, which really needs to stop. Power Rangers in itself is a failure, and sadly, it has been well-tolerated, which it should not be! Honestly, that TV series is truly a LAUGHINGSTOCK no matter how you slice it! I hope Mr. Saban and his production crew would create the Power Rangers TV series that is totally and truly of their own, meaning no props, stock footages or direct plots/story lines from the original sources, had they done it, such franchise would be worth it even if it may not rival the Super Sentai TV series.

OK, let my start off by saying that I'm not a power rangers fan, i mean sure i like the action figure, the fighting scenes but it always was silly to me yet i can enjoy it and a proof of that is the above average, good series power rangers Dino charge and rpm, and i didn't watch most the seasons.there is a standard in every power rangers series, average acting, great fighting scenes, swords, blasters, megazords, zords that are clearly made to resemble toys that you can find in stores, with all that, it is still kinda watchable, what happens when you grade down every thing i just mentioned? yeah........holly sh!t, what were they THINKING?!!!, the story lines are clearly made by 5 year old girl, yeah, not even a boy for this series, the acting is ridiculously terrible, every thing is so toned down to an extent that even sponge bob is darker than this, and i mean literally, you sit there and watch the power rangers with all their goodness, saying noble words and train well in what appears to be a cheesy atmosphere of cloud cu-cu land, the writing is terrible, the acting is terrible, i hate all the rangers, all of them, the action scenes are OK, the villains are terrible, the writers didn't go to the extra mile to at least give us intriguing characters, above the average stories, and we were stuck in a time waiting for this bull sh!t to end impatiently, don't watch it, don't rent it, don't watch it online, this is one of those shows that you just sit and laugh at its so terrible kinda funny episodes while drinking with your friends just like last weeks batman and robin party.

This series was refreshingly fun and full of B-movie fun except in a TV series.
It seemed to accept it was going to be cheesy and from episode one on, the bad acting(unintentional)and the cheesiness(intentional) was well done and provided fun lines and fantastic moments.
It had some serious moments that were made cheesy with the overacting and humiliating lines and events. We have a serious rivalry like the Red Samurai Ranger vs Decker who believed in honor, then we have the gold ranger who sells fish and makes fish puns. My goodness the Gold Ranger/Antonio lit up the room with his fiery Latin personality.
In the end, we know what Power Rangers is and this was an exceptionally well done B-Movie-esque extravaganza and so fun and cheesy and memorable corny lines.
9 out of 10. Fun-Fun-Fun. Cheesy-Cheesy-Cheesy. Well worth your attention.

This is an excellent TV Series with amazing actors and it is just like all of the other Power Rangers TV shows, but this would have to be my favorite. I have too admit Brittany is cute, but whoever says that this show is bad or the acting is terrible is wrong because there is amazing acting and i don't think anyone else could play the roles better than these guys. This is an add on from the older Power Rangers and its the same apart from the way the Rangers morph and they aren't in the same uniform as the older series but they are still doing the same thing. They are using their Elements, Symbol Power and Zords to fight Master Xandred and his Nylock army. Its amazing and i wouldn't change a thing in any way. They didn't get them off the street and give them the script and make them read it. They are actors and they are amazing actors, i would be privileged to meet them.

This show was a big part of my childhood, I watched it on constant repeat and i rewatched a bit recently and aside from the laughable effects it still holds up really well to this day, I can't ever find myself to not love this show.
I personally love samurai it's one of my favourites but they acting sounds forced/ sarcastic in a way but I still love the show a lot 💘
