Ummm......not sure yet about this series

I adored the original book. I will watch almost anything that is about Vampires...but so far this series is not doing it for me. Lestat is NOT my favorite character in the book. But - the actor playin Lestat is amazing, depicting all of Lestat's moves, cunning, and moods with expert precision, and at this point, I am rooting for Letstat. I did not expect to.

. The actor playing Lois is still seemingly trying to "find" this character.... I know Lois is still figuring out just who HE is, but the actor is not doing enough with that.

Still trying to wrap my head around the complete change in backstory...I will stick with the series a bit longer, but still not loving it.

PHENOMENAL

I can't even begin to put into words how i feel about this episode!!! It's absolutely amazing, made me feel every emotion ever! I laughed, I damn near cried, had my heart broke. Every episode just gives me more and more love for this series! I'm so proud of every cast member they are fantastic. I didn't know how they would top themselves after the amazing episodes that were 1 and 2, but they surely did, none of this is making sense but I'm just so mind blown, I haven't felt THIS kind of way about a series in the longest of time, If you aren't watching this series, you SHOULD be! It is well worth it.

Beautiful Exploration of Characters

This episode absolutely delivered on showing and not telling us who these characters are and how flawed they are in communicating with each other. Th love between them as we know it from the book series is finally on the big screen, as is the terrible way in which their past trauma and external circumstances hinder them. I especially love how the casting and time change give Louis much more agency and make his character not only more understandable but also likeable (not that book Louis isn't, but show Louis is even more so). Another lovely aspect is the humour here and there that exists alongside tragedy. Also I quite enjoyed the gender-swap for Antoinette as it contrasted the difference between Lestat with her vs Louis with Jonah and all its societal implications. Once again an addictive episode.

Going strong!

Once again, amazing episode. I am in owe how the people behind this series managed to change the setting and execute it very well. Louis' struggle with not only mortality and family but with also sexuality and race are making this series even more enjoyable. Jacob Anderson is perfect for the role and also manages to make people really FEEL for Louis. The explicit depiction of the unreliable narrator made it EVEN better. Once again the humour is perfect and the serious parts too. Sam Reid's Lestat is just so charming and extravagant that he has me smilling everytime he is on the screen. Having Daniel confront Louis about his retelling is just amazing and I'm loving everything about this series. Can't wait for the next episode.

The book is not a love story never was....

If your a big fan of the book then you know it wasn't about love but about abuse. You actually hated Lestat over the abuse. Now this tv show just wants you love the abuser. Lestat only loved himself and spending money. This version just ignored that aspect of the character for some reason. I will give AMC credit they just made a vampire romance tv show loosely based on the book. Had they re named Louis and Lestat it would have worked. But this is just a joke at this point. Sad part is the only love mentioned is Louis and Claudia which could be done since she's a teenager not a six year old. Shame they ripped up a classic novel to make this drivel.

Not sure where the show is going, but too bored to care

This episode just feels tired. It feels just like the last two episodes are just like this one. Not a whole lot explored and over and over cycles of the same rerun scenes.

Not sure what audience they are trying to grab, but I'm not it.

It seems like most of it is just characters to piss you off so that you are ok with the premise of the show which seems to be revenge killings based on social injustice.

The whole tempo of the show rides on negative and angry tones. Which I get the real history on this is atrocious, but this is a fictitious then and world. And week after week of the same leaves me wondering why I am using my time off to relax choose your watch this.

If the characters or the story.... Or just anything was more developed and interesting I'd keep watching. Too bad, I thought with the new casting and storylines this show looked to offer a new take.
