- Dexter is moving out of the house he shared with Rita. Debra tells Dexter he should live in the apartment. He seems happy that things are being simplified in his life... which of course leads to a shot of Lumen, very much still in Miami.
Dexter and Harrison do some recon on a Lance Robinson who uses the Internet to rendezvous with innocent men and, on four occasions, kill them.
We see Lumen putting on makeup and a dark wig.
While Debra briefs the department on a plan to grab the Fuentes brothers at their favorite club, Deputy Chief Matthews calls her out for what he thinks is a flawed plan of attack. Maria follows Matthews out and he tells her he thinks she's been wasting too much time getting Angel out of trouble. He warns her it's "your ass" if another murder happens.
Angel and Maria argue about the sting. He says he could have handled Internal Affairs on his own and thinks she cooked the operation to bring down Stan Liddy (Peter Weller) in order to protect herself rather than help him.
Lumen sticks a loaded gun in her purse and heads out.
Debra goes to Quinn's house looking to hang out. He acts weird at the door and she gets suspicious it is another woman. He brings her in and introduces her to Liddy. Quinn tells her he's just prepping Liddy for his IA hearing.
Once Debra leaves Liddy briefs Quinn on what he's dug up on Dexter so far. Liddy thinks Dexter is too clean to be legit.
Dexter leaves Harrison with Sonya and heads out to take care of Robinson. Dexter uses a rented RV to grab Robinson. While tying Robinson up he gets back-to-back calls from Lumen, ignoring them both. He finally calls back a frantic Lumen who says she has "shot one of them" and needs help. Dexter loads the unconscious Robinson into his car and leaves.
Quinn seems to be having way too much with the ladies while working inside the club. Watching from the surveillance van Angel notices Debra is jealous.
Dexter gets to Lumen and is obviously annoyed she is still in Miami and he has to clean up after her mess. They walk around the corner and see the man she shot (and thought was dead) is missing. While they search for him she tells him she found the man at a bar across town and brought him to this warehouse at gunpoint. She isn't able to give Dexter any hard evidence the man was one of the men who raped her and Dexter gets angrier and angrier.
Angel thinks his marriage is in trouble. Debra wants him to try and make it up to Maria. They get a call on a possible homicide that sounds like Lumen's shooting. Debra heads out.
Lumen is growing increasingly alarmed at Dexter's crime scene know-how and when he gets a page their current location has been called in he tells her he works for the police department in a "complicated" fashion. They finally find the guy she shot hiding in an adjacent structure.
Angel spots a girl (Jasmine) on video and goes into the club to introduce himself. He quickly asks her if she wants to "get out of here" and they leave together.
Dexter starts to help the man, Dan, Lumen has shot who says he never met Lumen before tonight. Dexter leaves to take a call from Sonya, who shows Dexter that Harrison has been saying multiple words. Despite telling Lumen not to move, when he returns she's jamming her shoe into his mouth and demanding he give her more names of the men who raped her. Dexter has to pull her away and in the process Lumen drops her cell phone. They return and find him talking to another accomplice. Clearly he was one of the men who raped her. Dexter finishes Dan off and they get to work on clean-up.
Debra finally arrives at the scene. She and Masuka work the initial scene and start following the blood drops. Debra calls Dexter, wondering where he is. She fills him in and we see that the imprisoned Robinson is now awake in his trunk.
Dexter returns to Dan and Lumen. He tells her to leave and meet him later. They see Robinson is escaping and Dexter tackles him just before he was going to run into Debra and Masuka. Debra and Masuka spot Dexter's car and he pops out from behind the door. Dexter has staged the scene to look like Robinson shot Dan and then died during some sort of kinky asphyxiation fetish action.
Angel and Jasmine are sitting in Maria's office. It turns out Jasmine knows the Fuentes brothers and has outstanding drug charges. If they drop her charges she will help them get the brothers. Angel apologizes to Maria, who admits he was right about some of the things he said earlier.
Debra comes home to Quinn's place and tells him she was upset over how he was acting at the bar. She admits to having feelings for him and they both agree they want a legit relationship.
Dexter had sent Lumen back to his and Rita's place. She had been taking a bath in the tub Rita was killed in and Dexter has a tough time being there. Lumen asks him about his family and they end up discussing their personal lives. She says tonight she felt at "peace" because Dan is dead. She knows that peace won't last and the only way for her to be happy is to find the rest of the men. Dexter now thinks helping avenge what was done to Lumen might help him deal with his feelings about Rita's murder.
"How many more were there?" he asks as the episode ends.
