Fun, educating and novel but there's one weird thing...
gen8627 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Is it fun - YES Do you learn new stuff - YES Is it a novel idea - YES Does it keep your attention - YES Is it entertaining to keep guessing if the person is lying or not - YES

What's weird about it: Basically if all three of them always say she's lying it's the best strategy and the fastest way for the contestant to leave. Because if she gets only ONE wrong answer, she's gone. Thus the 'guessers' will also get equal points. In that case, not sure how the next person is decided, may be it's random.

The only motivation of them to say she's telling the truth is that they will get more points so they can be the next contestant.

But what doesn't make sense is that if ONLY ONE PERSON every single time says YES, SHE'S TELLING THE TRUTH she will get a MILLION DOLLARS. And that's that! There's no way around it! How easy is to scam this show? How hard can it be for someone to strike a secret deal backstage, they just need 5 min alone. One of them gives a promise that he/she will always say the contestant is telling the truth and they will share 500k after. There's the trust element here of course, but it's worth a try if you ask me...

It's kind of weird to be honest, not sure how the show producers can prevent such a thing from happening.

Good fun
radhrh1 May 2022
Entertaining and novel game show, although there have been games shows based on lying before. For what it is it's good fun although the questions seem a bit random, obscure even. I guess the whole point of the show is the contestants don't know the answers and hence have to lie to win but half the fun of game shows is to answer the questions at home. As it's a US show the questions have an American bias but even so the contestants answer more wrong than correct.

It's a tough sell
burgerman9330 April 2022
There's some entertainment and one-liners with having Howie Mandel as a host - but this isn't the most interesting concept for a game show. If you're looking for a faster paced show, then I would have to steer people towards "The Chase". I might give this a couple more episodes to see how it pans out, but I don't see much potential.

I think it would be a bit more interesting if the contestant isn't aware of whether their answer is right or wrong after they lock in their answer. If their answer is right, there's no additional incentive in doing an explanation, since they win the money free and clear.

Good idea, bad execution

Even reality game show need some suspensions of disbelief. The game show's idea is solid but contestants and they way things are presented are way too fake to enjoy it.

At least it's watchable
valensere-6860629 April 2022
The concept of the show is kinda dumb. What I will say is that Howie is a great host, and the contestants are overall pretty entertaining.

However, if only one person believes the player throughout all the questions, that player wins the million? I get that the other contestants are trying to play themselves, but it feels... I don't know, messy.

I will keep watching since it's pretty fun.

A nice show with a flawed format.
jlambert-910-12305928 April 2022
It is a nice concept to see a solo player go head to head against three contestants who play for accuracy. Outside of this however the format is somewhat flawed.

Glaring issue with the show
izay1422 August 2022
Not one time in the entire season do any of the contestants call BS because they know the actual answer to the trivia question, and sometimes they were really obvious. This may be by design/producers insisting they don't do it, but I call BS.

Fun show with a few minor flaws.
madhalaster28 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This was an enjoyable watch.

The issues others have pointed out are really non-issues. The goal of each contestant is not to get rid of the current contestant. Their goal is to guess correctly if the current contestant is telling the truth or not. It is not in their best interest to vote "BS" every time, because that will make their accuracy drop and then they will be replaced with no chance to actually try to win money themselves. It does not look like the contestants are given time to interact with each other to "plot" to cheat the game, as even the players who are replaced each time does not appear to be consistent. Some contestants were replaced after a single attempt, and others were given two attempts before being replaced. The one main flaw with the way this works is if one of the three current contestants falls so far behind the other two, then at that point there is no longer any point for them to try to guess correctly since they have no way to catch up to the other two. So they can just vote yes every time and push the player to 1 million, or they can vote no every time to remote the effective active panel to 2 people. There were many cases where one of the three players was so far below the other two that they were effectively pointless as nothing they could do would allow them to catch up and become the next person going for money.

The one other issue with the show is the way the prize money scales and is awarded. Once you hit a certain level on the prize ladder, it makes no sense to keep going further as the risk to reward ratio is completely gone. For example: if you have your money locked at $250,000, then going for $750,000 can be worth the risk. Going from $500,000 to $750,000 you are betting $250,000 to gain $250,000. Once you successfully win $750,000 though, it is no longer worth it to try to go for the $1,000,000. Since you would be effectively losing $500,000 just to gain an additional $250,000. The same if you lock even lower. One of the contestants locked at $100,000, then made it to $750,000. It would have been crazy for him to continue trying to go to $1,000,000 since he would have been losing $650,000 just to make an additional $250,000. The risk to reward ratio is completely not worth it at that point.

Even with these issues, it was still a fun watch, and interesting seeing how different people react to truth and BS, and how different people correctly or incorrectly judge lies. So many people were so certain that the other person was telling a lie only to be completely wrong, and the same in the opposite direction.

Complete rubbish
sanjaypersad2 June 2022
I was very excited to watch the show and eagerly out it on. I have found the show itself is flawed in many ways and very slow and monotonous. I forced myself to watch a second episode but my family and myself could not take it anymore.

Loved it but wish they left the questions on screen
jon-1090730 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
They have the question on screen for maybe 10sec and remove it to the viewers. That's the only thing I wish they changed about the show. The element of BS to justify your answer is pretty cool and makes it more entertaining & allows people to go pretty far.

Scripted game show?
otisotis994 May 2022
Only 2 episodes in and doesn't seem logical that they can come up with a story just like that for every question whether they are bs'ing or not. And if they're wrong on some pretty simple questions you're telling me none of the 3 contestants actually knows the answer? Throw in the fake audience noise and just not an enjoyable show.

It's all fake
frank-8809724 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Very disappointed Howie would associate himself with this show. Most of the contestants are professional actors. One guy has 15 credits before this show. Others obviously used it to launch a career. If the contestants are all fake it stinks of rigged winners and prizes. This also makes me reluctant to watch any other Netflix "contest" show. It's fun to cheer for the person off the street. Cheering for people who know ahead of time if they will win is like watching bad wrestling.

Deal or No Deal had real contestants who have no other acting credits attached to them.

It would have been a fun show if not for all the fake people and professional actors. It literally is all bull sh$t. It's also funny that I can't mention the name of the show in the review because of profanity.

Off my chest lol
teatomancova21 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Listen, it's a great show. Super funny. But it's been months and I can't stop thinking about the man who confidently told the woman Better Call Saul doesn't take place in Albuquerque, New Mexico as it's the events after Breaking Bad and she started doubting herself. Babe it DOES take place in Albuquerque, you were correct.

A show made only for US Citizens
varunisdifferent30 April 2022
The title says it all. All questions asked are very local and specific to the United States so it's probably well suited to only a specific target audience. Don't know why Netflix even bothers airing this across the globe.

Details vs people
jessup-864461 May 2022
I saw a developmental psychologist talking about men and women; he was explaining that, generally speaking, men are concerned/care about details, while women are concerned/care about people.

Watching this show I keep seeing that play out over and over. The men call BS when the details don't add up, the women call BS when the people don't.

8/10 Fun gameshow. More interactive version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

Obvious Loophole
kushtrimsimoni1 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I mean 2 min into the show and you understand that if just one player decides to "believe" the contestant then its 1 m$ guaranteed and you can split with the mf that made you win.

Really slow moving
rmmil30 April 2022
There is so much filler between each question. It takes 4-5 minutes from the start to even begin each episode, it didn't hold my attention more than a few minutes.

Painfully slow and not engaging, and then the gameplay itself is just odd. A group of contestants could easily work together to scam this show.

Anyone want to make a million dollars? ;)

love this show, love howie and the contestants
kevinschili28 April 2022
Love that it doesn't matter how smart you are or your trivia knowledge, what matters is if you can BS! I wanna play this! Other review is wrong, first contestant shows how it doesn't matter what you know but what you can make people think you know!

They misspelled the title...
ancelgerla2 May 2022
I think something went wrong, because they misspelled the name of the show since I believe it should have been The Bullsh*t Gameshow. They keep adding rules, it has this fake vibe because of the laughing record and the way some of the competitors overact and it's just not that funny.

If you like the Game , watch the Show!
Max_Lucas19 May 2022
I just hate game shows! I swear, some of those have been on my entire life, and I'M 53! Even now I hear some of those theme songs and I cringe. So I avoided them.

I got pulled back into game shows with the release of "LOL: Last One Laughing Canada". I didn't see it as a game show. With Bullsh't, It has more of a game show feel. But the game is about bluffing, who's better at it, men or women?

The only thing that could make the game show any better would be Hollywood Stars and money to charity.

Doesn't seem real
stanleygray19 May 2022
When the contestant is calling BS, I find it strange that not one of the other 3 know the correct answer to call their BS. Not once did this happen. Frustrating that even simple answers are BS and no one calls it logically (knowing the answer themselves). I only kept watching because I love trivia, but doubt I'll make it to season 2 if there even is one.

Too much fake drama
genehenson3 May 2022
This show could have been pretty entertaining. Howie Mandel is always an entertaining host and concept of the game show is pretty fun. It's pretty similar to some popular board games.

However, they producers have decided to create this false sense of drama in the show where contestants have to "call out" the person guessing trying to be funny and dramatic. It really just comes off as totally annoying and off-putting.

Would love to see this show continue with a new set of producers in charge of casting and coaching.

As it is, it's much better to watch it on mute.

So different I loved it.
SafariPlum2 November 2022
This was so different to any other game show I have watched before and I loved it. This game was so "out of the box", I thoroughly enjoyed every episode. I adore trivia and knowledge based games, so ended up binge watching the entire thing in one sitting. Can't wait for more.

Howie was brilliant, funny and engaging as the host, and I was laughing through much of the show.

A little more trivia not so specific to the USA, would be nice to see in future. Maybe even allowing players from anywhere in the world, or making different editions for other countries too.

It does seem as though it would be easy to exploit. They had a great mix of people from all walks of life.

Oh it's bad
Maxax7772 May 2022
I love Howie Mandel - but this show is bad!!! It's just more typical Netflix junk! I don't know exactly when Netflix jumped the shark - but they sure did! Netflix has totally left quality on the curb! They somehow decided that having low quality junk programming would work as long as they have A LOT of it!
