Another Frankenstein-themed flick is coming our way that looks like a nice cheesy sliver of 1980's weirdness, and we have your first look at it right here. That's right, Dreadheads... grab you knives and forks and get ready to tango with Frankenstein's Hungry Dead.
From cult indie director Richard Griffin (The Disco Exorcist, Exhumed, Murder University, Nun of That), look for the flick (also known as Dr. Frankenstein's Wax Museum of the Hungry Dead) on special edition DVD from Wild Eye Releasing in early 2015.
Synopsis
Halloween night 1983: A group of teens break into a wax museum for some fun but instead find a gruesome secret awaiting them deep in the basement. Doctor Frankenstein himself has been piecing together the ultimate monster and creating a small army of the dead with the leftovers. Now, the teenagers must stop Frankenstein and his growing zombie horde or be sewn into the legendary mad doctor's latest masterpiece.

For episode 23 we invited Director Richard Griffin back on the show to discuss his latest, post-apocalyptic action film Future Justice. We’re discussing the making of the film as well of some of Richard’s other films, Nun of That and The Disco Exorcist. In a greater discussion about the post-apocalyptic genre itself, Richard discusses some of the films that inspired Future Justice, like the Italian post-apocalyptic wave of Bronx Warriors and Fall of New York. Our conversation eventually turns to the world of indie filmmaking and some of the challenges and privileges of working on the indie level. Give a listen, and don’t forget to share your reviews of Hey You Geeks on iTunes!
Please give us a rating and review on iTunes. It would be very much appreciated!

You know exactly what you’re getting into with a film like The Disco Exorcist, especially given that the film opens with a disclaimer that exclaims the producers can’t even remember making the movie! A grindhouse-inspired sexploitation flick the film follows Rex Romanski, a swinger, a womaniser and nightclub dancer. His aim in life is to seduce women and then casually dump them. However one day Rex meets his match in Rita Marie, a conquest who also happens to be a black magic priestess. When he spurns Rita for porn starlet Amoreena Jones, she reigns all hell down on him in a rampage of demonic possession, murder and mayhem.

Its Monday again and as a long week stretches ahead we though the title of Richard Griffin’s sex-filled, outrageous, homage to 1970's exploitation movies might well bring out a smile. His aim in life is to seduce women, and then casually dump them. He meets his match in Rita Marie, a black magic priestess. When he seduces her and spurns her, she reigns all hell down on him and the nightclub in a rampage of murder and mayhem. Get down or get dead with the coolest ever boogie man! The Disco Exorcist is a lowbudget indie horrorcomedy throwback to the possession films (and Exorcist ripoffs) of the 1970s filled with blood nudity sex nudity drugs nudity black magic and oh yeah lots and lots of nudity. On the same low budget as his other indie films director Richard Griffin has produced a pitchperfect tribute to the time when disco ruled. Its so successful both because of how well it blends 70s style with effective humor and how good the performances are.

Once again, those magnificent bastards over at All Things Horror are throwing another amazing party, and you — yes, You — are invited.
Just so you know, the party in question is a film festival called Shudderfest, and it will take place this weekend, October 26 and 27, at the Somerville Theatre in Somerville, Massachusetts. If I were you, I'd make arrangements now, because it's going to be the Eastern seaboard's preeminent Halloween event.
For years now, Chris Hallock and Mike Snoonian, the proprietors of All Things Horror, have sought out and screened the best of independent genre cinema during monthly screenings at the Somerville. But I have to say, this time, they've outdone themselves.
The festivities begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, with H. P. Mendoza's I Am a Ghost, a supernatural thriller that recalls the work of Polanski and Kubrick. This will be followed by a screening of American Mary, the...

The 6th annual Sydney Underground Film Festival is taking over all three screens of the Factory Theatre for a blow-out four-day event on Sept. 6-9.
Making it’s World Premiere at the fest on the 8th is the highly anticipated President Wolfman, the latest “green movie” by director Mike Davis that he’s cobbled together from public domain footage and feature films and set to an outrageous new soundtrack. The film looks like it promises to be a rollicking good time.
Other highlights of the fest include Guy Maddin‘s latest trippy film noir, Keyhole, about a mobster revisiting his homestead’s old memories; Bob Ray‘s documentary about Austin, Texas’ homegrown Total Badass; Bobcat Goldthwait’s media takedown God Bless America; Michal Kosakowski’s underground murder fantasy documentary hit Zero Killed; Richard Griffin’s funky The Disco Exorcist; and more.

Scorpio Film Releasing, creators of The Disco Exorcist and Nun of That, have provided us with the official trailer for their latest feature film, Murder University. It delivers suspense, thrills, and a bloody good time in the spirit of a 1980's slasher.
Synopsis:
A series of brutal, cult-like murders are taking place at a New England college. Josh Greene (Jamie Dufault), a shy freshman, is the lone survivor of a series of murders that are reminiscent of a similar string of killings some twenty years prior. Filled with blood, boobs and bell-bottoms, the 2011 cult horror film The Disco Exorcist pays tribute to the sleazy exploitation films of the 1970s.
The film revolves around Rex Romanski (Michael Reed), a 1970s disco swinger who loves and leaves the wrong woman - the wicked black magic priestess Rita Maria (Ruth Sullivan). So now it’s up to Rex to undo the scorned Rita’s rampage of revenge, murder and destruction before she claims more lives, and takes over the soul of the woman he loves (Sarah Nicklin)
Directed by Richard Griffin (an enthusiastic independent filmmaker whose previous credits include 2007’s Splatter Disco and 2005’s Raving Maniacs), the unrated Disco Exorcist has gotten some exposure online and on the underground film circuit. Heralded by adjectives like "unique," "original," and other words to describe how different this film is from modern horror fare, comes Exhumed . This is a decidedly different approach to the genre for director Richard Griffin who brought us Nun of That and The Disco Exorcist and it stars Debbie Rochon, Sarah Nicklin, Michael Reed, Michael Thurber, Rich Tretheway, Evalena Marie and Jonathan Thomson. I'm not ready to start waxing poetic about how "different" this looks because, honestly, it doesn't. Stylistically, it may be a departure for the guy who directed Creature from the Hillbilly Lagoon . But every director has to mature, right? A trailer and a poster are here and we're sharing them with you below. Here's how it's being described...

Remember last week when I was whining incessantly about not having a trailer for Richard Griffin’s upcoming horror endeavor “Exhumed”? Apparently someone was listening to my rants, as this week we’ve been sent the official preview, which you can find lurking suspiciously below.
