Well-built machinery
Mr-Fusion28 November 2016
There's a lot of moving parts to 'I of the Storm', and the feat here is how all of them are maintained while still laying down seeds for the rest of the season. An oxy bus is hijacked , which ends up pulling the likes of Raylan, Dewey, Boyd and Doyle Bennett into its orbit. It's a crime that leaves ripples across Harlan and threaten to bring the Dixie Mafia sniffing around.

Walton Goggins channels Boyd's inner turmoil while everyone around him casts aspersions on his character. When the situation comes to a head in the final moments, it's a believable result, thanks to his abilities in this role.

Factoring into this packed episode is the Bennett clan, each making his own move; Boyd's fighting his past; and several other side players coming into play. Some of it is hilarious, while the whole thing bristles with energy.

Dewey Crow has a plan...

Warning: Spoilers
...and what could possibly go wrong??? Those familiar with my favorite half-wit (to be generous) know the answer is EVERYTHING! And pretty much everything does (that can't be a spoiler!) and it is simply compounded when he tries to set up Raylan as the fall guy. His parting line to his victims (to use the term loosely) is hilarious for those who know the show.

Boyd is trying to settle into his new life while everyone (but one) is pulling him back to his old life or assuming he hasn't changed at all. Let's just say it grates upon him... Along with Dewey, Boyd is the standout in this episode. Dewey for the laughs, and Boyd for the dramatic build-up. Both shine, especially together, but for different reasons.

A little more movement on the Bennett front, but not as much as you might expect (or in my case hope for). The tads are up to no good (Suprise, Suprise!) but Mags is absent this episode.

A high-quality episode, as only Justified can do it!

When Boyd Crowder started to steal the show.

Warning: Spoilers
One of my favorite episodes on the show, I mean, we see Boyd Crowder getting his patience tested scene after scene when once again he's trying to do something right in his life.

Being questioned by Raylan, annoyed by Dewey Crowe and followed by his new coal mine co-workers, Boyd explodes little by little until he couldn't take it anymore, even trying to put Dewey at his place, he snaps when Kyle, one of his co-workers keeps harassing him on pulling a heist against their place of work.

Like the song at the end of the episode said, the devil was finally on the wheel again, Boyd Crowder was back to his old crazy ways, even without the white supremacy bullshit.

10/10, this episode is really one of the high points of season 2 and still doesn't involve the Bennett clan that much.

MVP: Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins).
