Radio Silence, the filmmaking team behind Ready or Not, Abigail, and the two most recent Scream sequels, are gearing up to go into production on Ready or Not 2 – but while Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are directing that sequel and producing it with Chad Villella, the trio are also producing a feature expansion of Colleen McGuinness’ short film Loser. Deadline reports that Angourie Rice, who also starred in the short, is set to star in the Loser feature alongside Ella Purnell (Fallout), Finn Bennett (True Detective: Night Country), and Lukas Gage (The White Lotus).
Details on the characters being played by Purnell, Bennett, and Gage have not been revealed, but we know that Rice will be playing Alice, a brilliant but troubled physicist, as she attempts to heal her trauma by using time travel, but gets caught in a twisty, cat-and-mouse game of murder and violence in New York City.

The wolf pack is hoping for Emmys love.
“Teen Wolf: The Movie,” Paramount+’s adaptation of the MTV supernatural-thriller series, has been submitted for the Primetime Emmy Awards for outstanding television movie, Variety has learned exclusively.
Moreover, the streamer also submitted the film in five other categories: lead actor in a limited or anthology series or movie (Tyler Posey), directing (Russell Mulcahy), writing, prosthetic makeup and original music and lyrics (“Lemon” by Tyler Posey). This provides Posey, who plays the True Alpha werewolf Scott and produces the film, three chances for recognition.

Angourie Rice is an expert at playing a teenager, even though she turned 22 this past January. Last year, the actor starred as the teenage version of Rebel Wilson in Netflix's "Senior Year," as well as a hilariously driven student in the irreverent comedy "Honor Society." Rice also appeared in the McU's Spider-Man movies as Betty Brant, and in 2021's "Mare of Easttown" she played Siobhan, Mare's stubborn daughter. Now, in Apple TV+ series "The Last Thing He Told Me," based on Laura Dave's bestselling novel of the same name, Rice stars as reeling high schooler Bailey opposite of Jennifer Garner, who plays her stepmom, Hannah, whom she can't connect with, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays her missing dad, Owen.
"What I really liked about Bailey is that she had such a clear idea of what she loved and what she wanted to do," Rice tells Popsugar. "I really...

Stranger Things star Gaten Matarazzo opens up about his deep fear of the show ending with season 5. For four seasons of Netflix's hit series, Matarazzo has endeared himself to audiences as Dustin Henderson, an integral member of the show's close-knit friend group. Matarazzo and the rest of the show's massive ensemble cast will return in Stranger Things season 5, which will be the final season of the hit Netflix series, and finish the fight against the big bad Vecna.
During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Matarazzo opened up about his biggest concern that comes with Stranger Things season 5 ending the popular Netflix show. The Dustin actor has a "deep fear" of the show ending since he will be losing "pretty great job security" and it will be "back to freelance.” Read his full comments or watch a video below, starting at 2:23:

“Stranger Things” star Gaten Matarazzo told Jimmy Fallon during a recent interview on “The Tonight Show” that he’s living in “deep fear” of “Stranger Things” ending after its five-season run on Netflix. The cast will shoot the fifth and final season this year. Playing Dustin, Matarazzo has been a “Stranger Things” lead since the pilot episode.
“It’s interesting to constantly just be reminded how much people have resonated with it,” Matarazzo said when asked about the series coming to an end. “I mean, it’s something that’s so important to all of us and has just been essential to the growth that I’ve had over all of my teenage years into my 20s. It’s the defining aspect of the past 10 years of my life, practically the past decade.”

TV fans are days away from being inundated with Emmy contenders. Due to tweaks to the Academy’s eligibility timeline, new seasons have to complete their runs prior to May 31 if they want all episodes to be considered for this year’s ceremony — which means weekly releases have to start a bit earlier, hybrid releases may come out in bigger batches, and all-at-once drops could have a slight edge. (Recency bias: It’s real.)
It also means the field as we see it today is about to dramatically shift in the coming weeks. Winter awards always feature a mix of last Emmy season’s favorites and the coming season’s hopefuls, which makes them particularly meaningful for freshman series yet to be considered by TV Academy members. And with Sunday night’s WGA Awards marking an unofficial end to the 2022 calendar year’s awards cycle, at least one major player has emerged.

The 75th Writers Guild of America Awards took place Sunday night, wrapping up the final weekend of guild awards before the Oscars next week. Both screenplay categories are tight at the Oscars, but not all the contenders were present at WGA.
That’s because the guild’s strict rules disqualify a number of scripts every year. This year, ineligible original screenplays include Oscar nominees “The Banshees of Inisherin” and “Triangle of Sadness,” as well as “Aftersun,” “Rrr” and “Good Luck to You, Leo Grande.” Oscar nominees “All Quiet on the Western Front” and “Living” are among the ineligible adapted scripts, which also include “The Whale,” “Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio,” “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On” and “The Quiet Girl.”
The WGA’s original screenplay nominees are “Everything Everywhere All at Once” (Daniel Kwan & Daniel Scheinert), “The Fabelmans (Steven Spielberg & Tony Kushner), “The Menu” (Seth Reiss & Will Tracy), “Nope” (Jordan Peele...

Stranger Things star Gaten Matarazzo wants to see a film adaptation of The Legend of Zelda. For four seasons of Netflix's hit series, Matarazzo has endeared himself to audiences with his performance as the fan-favorite Dustin Henderson, an integral part of the show's core friend group. Fresh off the success of Stranger Things season 4, Matarazzo has remained busy, proving himself as a more than capable leading man in the romantic coming-of-age comedy Honor Society for Paramount+. He also recently provided the voice of the lovable Boris the Drago in the animated film, My Father's Dragon.
In addition to being a versatile actor, both on the stage and screen, Matarazzo is a well-known gaming enthusiast and lifelong Nintendo fan. The Stranger Things star has primarily been a longtime fan time of the Pokémon anime series, though there is one particular Nintendo franchise he thinks is ripe for a film adaptation.

If you're ready for something not only entertaining but also actually interesting, find out where to watch Honor Society.
“It’s been a 4-year plan, and it’s coming to a close today.” Thus begins the Oran Zegman-directed film, Honor Society, with lead actress Angourie Rice speaking perkily to the camera in a manner reminiscent of 1980s John Hughes classics, like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Also like Ferris Bueller, what begins as a deceptively fun flick focusing on typical high school antics and angst soon reveals unexpected layers of thoughtful complexity — and some serious surprises. This is a film you’ll want to watch more than once, and you’ll tell your friends where to watch Honor Society, starring Angourie Rice — MCU’s Betty Brant from the Spider-Man franchise — and Stranger Things star, Gatten Matarazzo.

Greg Mottola's celebrated teen comedy "Superbad" will celebrate its 15th anniversary this week. People old enough to watch raunchy, R-rated comedies in 2007 will likely recall the overwhelmingly positive response it received. It crept into the pop consciousness, and "Superbad" became slowly canonized in the years after its release. Actors Jonah Hill and Emma Stone (previously credited as Emily Stone) had breakthrough performances, and reliable comedic actors like David Krumholtz, Dave Franco, Kevin Corrigan, Martin Starr, and Joe Lo Truglio strengthened an already solid comedy script written by Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg.
One of the most recognizable actors from "Superbad" is Christopher Mintz-Plasse, the dorky best friend of the film's two 17-year-old leads. Mintz-Plasse's character, Fogell, has, against all odds, managed to secure that most coveted of high school artifacts: a fake ID. He intends to use it to buy some contraband beer for an all-out, end-of-high-school party that night.

Gaten Matarazzo is having one of the best summers of his career. He kicked off the summer by reprising his role as Dustin Henderson in the highly anticipated fourth season of Netflix's Stranger Things, returned to Broadway in Dear Evan Hansen, and recently made his Paramount+ debut starring in the original movie Honor Society. Matarazzo plays a bit of a romantic interest for the lead character, Honor, who is desperately trying to take down her academic competition so that she's the one her guidance counselor chooses to recommend to Harvard University.
On the surface, the coming-of-age movie seems like a run-of-the-mill story, but fans were surprised to learn that it had a few shocking twists and turns up its sleeve. Stars: Angourie Rice, Gaten Matarazzo, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Armani Jackson, Avery Konrad | Written by David A. Goodman | Directed by Oran Zegman
Honor (Angourie Rice) is an ambitious high school senior whose sole focus is getting into an Ivy League college… assuming she can first score the coveted recommendation from her guidance counselor, Mr. Calvin (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). Willing to do whatever it takes, Honor concocts a Machiavellian-like plan to take down her top three student competitors, until things take a turn when she unexpectedly falls for her biggest competition, Michael (Gaten Matarazzo).
By taking a quick look at all of the promotional material for Oran Zegman‘s Honor Society, one would be forgiven for thinking it’s a cute and sweet coming-of-age high-school comedy with little else to offer. In all reality, it is all that but it also comes packed with some surprisingly dark and highly emotional material that took me completely off-guard.

The Paramount Plus film about a high school girl singularly obsessed with getting into Harvard is an enjoyably fanged journey through senior year
Honor Society, a dark comedy about prestige-obsessed high school students, opens with familiar faces of pop feminism: Beyoncé and Billie Eilish. They’re the faces Honor Rose (the Spider-man movies’ Angourie Rice) sees on her wall as she undergoes her lengthy morning routine before senior year – white strips for her teeth, jade roll on her face, straightener on her blonde bob. The montage recalls the opening scene of Booksmart, another sharp film about overachieving teenage girls. But whereas Booksmart’s ambitious protagonists sincerely worshipped Rbg, Michelle Obama and Gloria Steinem with contempt for the less driven, Honor’s posters are proudly utilitarian, her attitude pure disdain. “They’re all bullshit,” she says to us, “but these are the gods of my people, so I must worship them.

Gaten Matarazzo's first "Dear Evan Hansen" show doubled as a mini "Stranger Things" cast reunion. Costars Sadie Sink and Maya Hawke attended Matarazzo's opening night for the Tony-winning Broadway musical on July 19 to watch him portray Hansen's family friend Jared Kleinman on stage. Now, Matarazzo is opening up about what his friends' support meant to him.
"I didn't even know they were there," Matarazzo told Popsugar about his friends' appearance while promoting his new Paramount+ film "Honor Society." "Just to see them there was like the icing on the cake. They were just so ecstatic for me. It just almost made me very, very emotional. And I don't think they know that, how much it really meant to me, but I'll text them."
Matarazzo added that the whole cast are always really supportive of each other's projects. "Caleb [McLaughlin] was just working back to back on two projects in different cities,...

Gaten Matarazzo is still reeling from the fan reaction to the "Stranger Things" finale, which was released on July 1. Lots of people have told him that his scenes as Dustin reacting to Eddie's death made them cry. "It's such a weird thing to say thank you to," he tells Popsugar. "They're like, 'You made me cry,' and it's like, 'Oh, thank you.'"
Matarazzo admits that filming Eddie's (Joseph Quinn) death scene was extremely hard. "We knew that it was going to be close to the end of our journey on the show together, and to wrap it up in such a really intense and really, really scary way was satisfying, but really difficult," he explains.
"I was going into it really scared, like, 'I need to cry, I need to do all this stuff, I need to be focused,'" Matarazzo says. "[But then I thought], just chill out,...
