- Of all my toys, I love the doll the best...
Babysitter Sam drives to a house, and she waves to a child Angela Manderley watching her from the window. Angela disappears, closing the curtain behind her, and Sam goes into the house and calls to the parent. There's a paint of Angela on the wall. The Manderleys come down, startling Sam. They ignore her attempts at small talk and lead her to the living room, and Sam finds crayon sketches on the table. Mrs. Manderley says that Angela will come out when she's ready, and Sam sees Angela apparently standing behind a nearby curtain.
The Manderleys say that thy must be off, and warns Sam that they'll be home late. She confirms with Sam that no one will be waiting up for her at home, and Sam says that it's just her and her cat. The couple leave, and Sam takes out a candy from her pocket and loudly wonders if Angela wants them. Angela doesn't come out, and Sam pulls away the curtain to reveal nothing but a pair of shoes there.
Angela comes up behind Sam and grabs her by the ankles, smiles, and tells Sam that she tricked her. Sam congratulates her and Angela says that she knows all about Sam, and says that she likes to be boss. The girl says that Sam seems fun, unlike the other babysitters she's had in the past, and offers to take Sam to her bedroom so she can show Sam her dolls, and says that they're going to have a lot of fun. Behind them, a doll on a shelf moves.
Angela takes Sam through the house, and uses a remote on her watch to turn off the lights. Sam uses her pone light to find Angela in her room, and Angela asks Sam not to be cross with her because she was just seeing how well Sam could see in the dark so they could play hide and seek later. The girl shows Sam her dolls, which are all disfigured. Angela finds one doll, tells it that it shouldn't be there and should have stayed on its shelf, and pulls its head off. When Sam asks what's going on, Angela says that she hates it when things don't do what they're supposed to. Sam suggests that there might be a more gentle way to get the message across, and picks up the doll. Angela stops her, saying the doll is being punished, and yanks it out of Sam's hands and throws it on the floor.
The girl says that they're her dolls and she makes the rules, because she's the boss. Sam tells her that doesn't mean she gets to be cruel, and Angela dismisses Sam as a poor babysitter with no future. The babysitter tells Angela her remark is hurtful, and Angela says it's what her mother said about Sam. She shows Sam a photo of her mother, and says that her mother was the CEO of a big company in London and one day Angela will be a boss of a company, too. Sam says that she wants to have business some day, and Angela tells her that if she wants to succeed, Sam needs to learn how to dominate. She runs out to get some clothes so Sam can dress up as a businesswoman, and Sam looks at the dolls. The babysitter hears a clattering noise and looks under a cabinet, and finds a doll on the floor.
Angela comes back with a dress and tells Sam that she must wear it. When Sam hesitates, Angela grabs her arm and insists that Sam must wear it for the game. Sam agrees and Angela directs her to a nearby bathroom to change. The bedroom door is locked, and Angela uses the remote on her watch to open it.
Sam goes to the bathroom and changes, while Angela makes tea. The babysitter comes down and joins the girl, who secretly pours a drug into the tea. She pours the tea for Sam, who drinks some of it. Sam hears the clattering again and asks Angela if she has a cat. Angela says that she hates cats because they're so willful, and when Sam takes out her phone, Angela grabs it and throws it in the pot of tea. Sam pulls out the ruined phone and then passes out from the drugged tea. As she collapses, Angela tells Sam not to cry or she'll look like one of the disfigured dolls, which opens its eyes.
When Sam tries to crawl away from the table, Angela grabs her head and chants in Latin. Sam crawls over to a nearby mirror and finds porcelain growing over one eye. Angela realizes that Sam didn't finish all of her tea, and Sam staggers out into the hallway while something moves behind her. The front door is locked, and Sam hears Angela giggling in the distance.
Sam runs and one of the nearby dolls cuts her legs. The dolls turn to watch Sam, as she yells to Angela that she needs to go home. Angela appears down the hallway and says that they haven't gotten to the fun part yet, and Sam should come back and finish her tea, or she'll have to make Sam stay still another way. Angela turns on the lights and the dolls jump out at Sam. Sam runs, into a room, and Angela comes up holding a doll and says that Sam is right where she wants her.
The babysitter closes the door and barricades it, then tries to find an unlocked window. She doesn't, opens a cabinet to find a hammer to break it, and finds a pile of driver's licenses from other babysitters. Sam sees another open cabinet door and hears tiny feet skittering. Angela yells through the door that the dolls are hers, and they do what she says, and yells at them to get Sam. The lights flickers on and offers, and each time they come up more dolls approach Sam. They attack Sam, holding blades.
Sam cowers in a corner as the dolls move in on here, and yells at them to stay back. She recognizes the faces on the dolls from the photos on the licenses, and tells one of the dolls that she was once a person. The doll stops moving, and Sam says that she can help it and takes the blade from her hands. The doll cries, and Sam tells it that she doesn't have to be scared anymore. The other dolls stop, whispering, and Angela pounds on the door yelling at Sam to let her in.
The babysitter restores the remaining dolls where Angela has disfigured them, and Angela breaks in and asks Sam what she's doing. The dolls don't respond to Angela's command to kill Sam, and the girl tells one of the dolls to slash the others, for disobeying her. The doll ignores her, and Sam tells Angela that she made a mistake thinking cruelty is power, and Angela can still learn that cruelty isn't strength and offers to help the girl.
Angela takes Sam's extended hands, and then starts chanting. A doll slashes Angela before she can finish, and Angela vows that she'll make Sam pay for turning her dolls against her. The dolls block her way to Sam, and Sam runs out as the doors close behind her. The dolls chant the same spell that Angela used, and the girl screams.
The Manderleys return, and Mrs. Manderley worries that Angela will be mad if they came back too early. Mr. Manderley says that it's a shame and Sam seemed like a nice girl, and his wife tells him not to talk like that or Angela might turn him all the way. Sam runs out the front door, and the partially transformed parents go inside.
Later, an eyepatch-wearing Sam moves into a new room with toys. She finds a doll of Angela in a box and drops it in shock, and the doll opens its eyes.
Of all my toys, I love the doll the best... She only cries a little when I hurt her.
