Frankenstein (Benedict Cumberbatch as the Creature)

Directed by Danny Boyle. This adaptation of Frankenstein is far away from the 1930s Universal monster movies.

Faithful to Mary Shelley's story. This is a stage experience. Benedict Cumberbatch contorts his body as the disfigured creature is born.

His presence horrifying the villagers. He meets his maker, the duplicitous Victor Frankenstein (Jonny Lee Miller.) He stops the creature who has evolved in his understanding of the world to have a female mate.

Now the creature seeks revenge on the man who thought he was a god.

The production is primarily a stage play produced by the National Theatre. It was shown on screens and recorded for television broadcast.

Cumberbatch and Lee Miller alternated the roles of the Creature and Victor Frankenstein.

It is an immersive production with body horror, philosophical musings and even some comedy. The audience laugh regularly with some bizarre and uncomfortable goings on.
