When a former cop is shanked in prison, news about his past begins to surface. He is there for killing his foxy wife who has been around quite a bit. Prison cell investigation reveals a list of cops and others who appear to be possible hits. Even Brass is on there and Ecklie. There are lots of unanswered questions and things get harsh when one of her police conquests gets arrested. Greg brings forth some amazing evidence.

Cast list spoiler

Warning: Spoilers
When the actress playing a murder victim got second billing of the guest stars, you have to figure it's a "fake-your-own-death" plot. From now on, I'm treating the cast list as a "spoiler alert. "

The Dead Woman

The Dead Woman When the former police detective Vance Tolsom is murdered stabbed in the neck in a riot in a corridor in prison, Langston and Nick investigate the case. Vance was convicted for killing his promiscuous wife Anne-Marie Tolsom, who was a police officer. Her body was never found and Vance has always claimed innocence. While checking his belongings in the cell, Nick finds a notebook with a list of Anne-Marie's sexual partners composed by police officers and detectives, including Ecklie, Brass and Vartann. Futher, Vance had a motion for a retrial based on new evidence. Catherine decides to reopen the case and investigate Vance again.

"The List" is another great episode of "CSI", with many doubts and suspects, but well resolved in the end. There are many twists when the team learn that Vance Tolsom was framed, a surprising conclusion, when the fate of his wife is discovered. My vote is eight.

One Of The Best Episodes
ccthemovieman-119 January 2012
I thought this was one of the better episodes of the season: a taut, tense thriller right from the beginning. It also had so many twists and turns - one of them a real shocker - that it kept your attention. Watching this on DVD, I had to re-play a couple of scenes just to catch up with what was happening and things get a little convoluted.....but it's a great story.

A cop who had been convicted of killing his wife, himself is killed days before a new hearing is scheduled. Most people are still convinced he did, indeed, kill his beautiful-but-very-loose wife (she had slept with many cops)......but still, something is not right. He left an intriguing "list" behind, one that includes characters we CSI fans are very familiar with. As more and more facts come to life, some CSI folks think he could have been innocent.

This episode will definitely get and keep your attention.
