- Jackie soothes Grace's anxiety about the upcoming saint pageant. Kelly continues to win over the All Saints crew. Zoey connects with a twelve-year-old boy whose mother was brought in as a drug overdose. A Native American patient momentarily lifts Coop's depression. Jackie pockets a Fentynal delivery that was meant for Oncology. Kevin confronts Jackie with the dental floss/drug stash he found.—Anonymous
- 2 a.m. Jackie is woken up by Grace freaking out about her heart racing. She asks her mom to check her pulse Jackie turns it into an opportunity to have 2 a.m. Cocoa.
Downstairs, Grace reviews gruesome saint deaths for her parents. She's worried about picking from the wrong of 10,000. Her parents calm her down and send her off to bed. Kevin tells Jackie she's a good mom -- and she has the mug to prove it.
Jackie waits outside a diner, smoking a cigarette, before going in to meet her pill pusher. She's upset that $200 only gets her five pills. He points out he gave her six and hugs her to pass her the pills.
Walking out of the diner she runs into Sam, who asks if she's a "Friend of Bill," he knows her dealer as a sponsor in AA. She has no desire to talk to Sam, but he tells her about a woman who told a story in a meeting about stealing pills off her boyfriend after he OD'd. Jackie fakes a call from Kevin to shake Sam.
Zoey finds Thor standing outside the hospital, hoping to learn whether rumors that Kelly runs to work shirtless are true. Zoey used to have a real problem with Kelly, until they went out last night and Kelly paid for all her drinks, and a French onion soup. They're impressed with his Peace Corps stories about hanging out with Sean Penn in Haiti. They see Jackie approaching from the other direction and Thor describes the challengers. When Jackie reaches them she's uninterested in their bar tales.
Inside, Mrs. Akalitus talks to Kelly, who also worked at her rival Lilly Chung's hospital, Bellevue. She wants his thoughts on childhood obesity issues, to beat her in attracting Michelle Obama. He said she leaned heavily on the acryonyms. He sees a picture of Michelle Obama on her desk and mentions his mother the judge knows her and he met her once.
Zoey works on her blog, "Nursing It, Yo." Sample entry: "Fear of Pus: How to Overcome It." O'Hara invites Jackie to a champagne function after work, but she pretends like Kevin is keeping her on a tight leash.
A 35 year old woman is brought in unconscious. Her young son Walker called it in. He waits outside. The mom didn't wake up after going to a concert last night. Zoey takes him to the cafeteria for breakfast. He asks if she smokes.
Kevin brings Grace and Fiona to school, but Grace drops her saint cards getting out of the car and freaks out. He promises to find all 87 of them. He fishes under the seat and finds a floss can with Jackie's blue pills in it.
At work, Jackie ignores Kevin's call. She stops the elevator and takes a pill out of her sock and downs it. She tries to decide whether to take two, but puts the other in her bra strap.
Zoey chats with Walker outside. He hasn't seen his dad since he was 11. She shares that hers is in prison. He asks if it's a good hospital "in a 'is my mom going to die' way". She says she smoked menthols when she was his age.
Jackie treats an iron worker with a fear of heights. He got hit with a kite, which they fly on their lunch break. He explains that everyone thinks Native Americans aren't afraid of heights, but he is, he just handles it differently.
Cooper and Thor play with Cooper's old toys until Jackie busts it up. Cooper is still sulking over his moms getting a divorce. She tries talking to him reassuringly, distracting him with the promise of an interesting patient. Cooper starts out enjoying the stories of steel workers and brings it around to his moms divorce. Kelly gets Jackie to tend to Walker and tries to save him from talking to the Native American about how he had a teepee in his room as a kid.
O'Hara reads the mom's tox screen for Jackie. She's on pills like Jackie and a bunch of booze and still out cold. Jackie is alarmed.
She finds Walker, who is waiting for his deadbeat dad. Jackie tells him he was right to call it in. Jackie ignores another call from Kevin. She tells Walker his mom is on a ventilator but will probably be able to come home in a few days. He asks if his mom is a drug addict. Jackie starts to make excuses about how being a mom is a hard job, but he interrupts. "She's a f----- drug addict, OK?" he says.
Eddie takes a call for fentanyl patches from oncology. Kelly comes to get the iron worker's pain meds and Eddie send him off with the patches, which are stronger than morphine and highly sought after. O'Hara comes by to glue her shoe heel. She invites him to join her.
Kelly wanders the hall looking for oncology. Jackie finds him and offers to take the patches up if he changes a catheter for her.
Jackie complains to Mrs. Alakitus about Kelly getting Saturday night off work. She tells Jackie that Kelly is a "winner."
The steel worker sees Cooper's boot and guesses he had a bunion. They bond over bunion pain. The worker goes to leave and lets Cooper keep his kite. "Thanks, chief," Cooper says, totally stepping in it. He explains he calls everyone chief.
Outside at night, Jackie sees Cooper trying to fly his kite, running the wrong way for the wind. Kelly comes out and sees Eddie getting in O'Hara's car and notes to Jackie that he never would have put them together. Neither would Jackie.
At home, Kevin immediately confronts her with the pills in floss. She protests that they're old, from the road trip they took. She denies, denies, denies. She shows him the 30 day sober chip she got from her drug dealer and then tells Sam's story about what a woman said in his meeting as if it were her own. She reassures him it's over and they're OK. She hugs him, putting her arms around his neck. As she does, we see the Fentanyl patch on her arm.
