Tooth Brushing is an educational short film about the right way to brush teeth starring the "Peanuts" gang

Just watched this. It's a short film featuring the "Peanuts" characters-Charlie Brown, Linus, Snoopy, and Lucy-demonstrating how to brush your teeth. The animation is by usual animator Bill Melendez and the music is by Vince Guaraldi which means either this was actually made before 1976 or the producers used recordings of his score from other Charlie Brown specials since he died in '76 after completing work on "It's Arbor Day, Charlie Brown". Anyway, this was both informative and funny especially when Lucy arrived when she doesn't know about something concerning one of her items...I managed to find this on Facebook and I believe the video of this I watched was linked from YouTube. So that's a recommendation for Tooth Brushing if you're interested in all things Peanuts.

This short film (5 minutes!) was made in the late 1970s for the American Dental Association. I am guessing it was believed that the Peanuts characters would be a good way to try and 'reach' young kids, and teach them some of the basics of oral hygiene. I don't remember ever seeing this in school, and honestly I didn't even know it existed until recently, but sure enough, if you Google it you'll find the video on YouTube and other sites. It seems Charles Schulz made a few others, too. One about flossing and another about - get this - air pollution!

As for this film, it has Charlie leaving the dentist, having learned a lot about the proper way to brush teeth. He encounters first Snoopy and then Linus, and walks/talks them through proper brushing technique. As they are in Linus's house at the time, Snoopy uses someone else's toothbrush to practice, which, needless to say, is NOT proper brushing technique lol.

I thought it a little odd this was shown, as the intention of the film was to teach 'the right way' to brush, but it's clear it was done for laughs. OK I can go along with that. Overall not a bad time-waster for 5 minutes. Heck it probably took more time to write this review than to watch it!

7/10. Funny enough. A must for diehard Peanuts fans.
