Uta is named after the Japanese word for "song", which fits her as a musician.
Despite being not canon, this film reveals some new information that is likely canon. For example, Shanks' origin being found by Gold Roger and the Red Hair Pirates showing off their powers and strength.
Despite AmaLee, who is an accomplished and published singer, voicing Uta in the English Dub, she does not dub her songs from their Japanese origins, and all the songs are still sang by Ado. AmaLee did however do a Dub of New Genesis that can be found on iTunes
AmaLee, Uta's American voice actress, did her own recordings of the songs in the film and released them on her LeeandLie YouTube channel.
This films marks the first animated appearance of Monkey D. Luffy's "gomu gomu no mi" form also known as "Gear 5." This is significant as it is ahead of its appearance in the anime.
