Underwhelming
conorray12 November 2021
Well there's certainly a little entertainment here, but overall it was pretty dull. This feels more like an Unauthorized parody from before Disney owned The Simpsons, and not a real crossover like it should've been. Very few characters speak and most of the ones that do sound sound off. Having Bill Farmer voice Goofy would have at least made it a little more authentic. Overall this just the Simpsons in a bad spoof of House of Mouse, which would have been a much better addition to Disney+ than this.

Wow totally off Korean subtitles or captions
unina-8380615 November 2021
I am a fan of the Simpsons , so I just finished it right before. It was extremely shorts people, it was okay, and still smart ad film for Disney +. That's okay. I am second English learner and I try always watching with sub. This time I accidentally I watched with Korean captions. Wow, totally off timing, missing half of script or totally odd thing added to me. Or may lazy drunken translator with half of payment.. wow. I am so amazed about it. The Disney truly needed to double check the foreign subtitles. I really want to tell them , but I have no idea of that. I just leave messages instead.

This isn't a short; it's an insult.

Just when you thought 'The Simpsons' couldn't get any worse, Disney goes and does something like this. We all wanted the show to stop before the mouse got his grubby mitts on it; imagine how we feel now. 'The Simpsons In Plusaversary (2021)' is the definition of insulting. It's nothing more than an insanely blatant advert for Disney+ disguised as as a piece of legitimate content for Disney+. The redundancy of advertising something to an audience comprised entirely of people who already bought it is astounding. I honestly think this will drive more people off the platform than it will convince to stay on it. I'm almost in awe of how bad this is. There's just nothing here. I mean, this is quite possibly the most nothing thing I've ever seen. It has pretty much no redeeming factors; even the jokes and sight-gags that should theoretically work just don't. It's absolutely terrible and I'm sad now. What has Disney done to my beloved 'Simpsons'?

I think I'm actually worse off for having watched this. Like, I'm ill. I'm literally ill now.

Thanks, Disney, I hate it.

A Simpson episode or a 5min Disney commercial.

The closes thing they came to actually be satire was vague hinting, Goofy was gay.

Guess that what happens when disney own to much. Soon there probably homer simpson team park. Were you can park your trail trash dad.

Makes me hate Disney more

The "story" of this if you even want to call it that is that Homer didn't get invited to the anniversary party for Disney+, but Goofy gets him in. They have a beer together, and a bunch of other Disney characters make appearances.

There is absolutely nothing here to latch onto. Even if you watch it just to see all your favorites in one room, most of them don't speak and the few that do sound terrible. Goofy's laugh is completely offputting, Donald doesn't even sound like a duck as soon as he starts talking and Grumpy sounds like The Rich Texan. I don't really know why they couldn't get the official voice actors for some of them, but these impressions are so bad you could ask a hobo on the street to do better ones.

The main selling point is Homer and Goofy bonding with each other, but they're not given very much. Goofy mopes over being seen as goofy and Homer finds him annoying. Then we get a tearful goodbye at the end when they're forcibly separated. You have no idea where Homer's sudden love for Goofy came from, so it feels phony and lazy.

And I kid you not, I think there might be no jokes at all. Or if there were they were such lacking in tact, timing or wit I couldn't notice them. I know this is a clichéd saying, but when I'm watching a COMEDY I'm expecting at the very least a smirk.

Then the icing on the cake is something so earbleedingly abysmal it can be compared to the ending song of Lisa Goes Gaga. Lisa sings... about how fantastic the Disney streaming service is and how all your favorite shows and movies are there. It's not only incredibly sappy and cringeworthy to listen to, but manipulative as hell since they're not even hiding that this only an ad in disguise of a short. It's the kind of shameless self-promotion that makes you want to vomit up your skull.

The Good, The Bart And The Loki is almost as bad, but I can still call that a product made to "entertain". This however is cheap patronizing garbage that only those who are already in love with Disney+ and everything it stands for will appreciate it. And even some of those subscribers might get sickened by the blatant sense of pride.

This is...

This is absolutely awful. This time, instead of mocking this crappy company, they just promote it. It's literally just 6 or something minutes of saying that Disney is the best streaming service...

Disney ruins everything
MrStoopid12 December 2021
Remember that bit in the Simpsons movie where Bart puts a black bra on his head and proclaims himself to be the mascot of an evil corporation? This abomination is Disney's revenge upon the Simpsons for making that joke and on you for laughing at it.

i can't watch this anymore ...R.I.P the simpsons
iceman-johnson27 November 2021
I have such fond memories growing up with the simpsons. Me and my friends would quote lines from the show even into adulthood. But for a good few years the simpsons has been on the decline. The jokes aren't funny, the episodes are dull and p.c and the spark just isn't there. I knew it wasn't good when i started to hate the characters i once loved and i think you can even tell the voice actors are no longer with it and are clearly just there for the cash there's no passion anymore.

I haven't watched a new episode in a while as it hurts to see how horrible they have become but i saw this this and thought "ok,it can't be that bad"for some reason i thought it was a christmas special or something. But after 1 minute in its clearly just advert for disney+.

I got to the point where they were encouraging you to stick your kids in front of the t.v and you should subscribe to their channel otherwise you'll make the stockholders cry.they kept showing all the companies disney now own on a mobile phone. I get it's meant to be a joke but its not very good and it felt cheap and tacky and the jokes are horrible.

Like Moe can't understand donald duck, says he must be choking. Barney tries to give him the heimlich. He's not. Choking End of joke ....where's the payoff ? Who wrote that crap and thought it was funny ? Drunk homer pulls out an old quote from the 1986 movie stand by me to goofy "i don't know if your a dog or a cow blah blah blah". They couldn't think of anything better than that ? They stole a "joke from the 80s" The writing genius has clearly gone and all we are left with are complete idiots.

I'm done with the simpsons, i honestly felt bad after seeing this and how horrible it's become.

Im never watching the simpsons again i just can't. Its like watching someone cooking your favorite meal but instead of cooking it just right then giving it you at the right time they keep cooking it and spitting in it till its burnt to a crisp and all your left with is something that resembles something you love absolutely destroyed because the chef was disgusting and lazy and had no clue how to handle it .

Fun idea, but too "short."
mgentalen12 November 2021
Simpsons in Plusaversary, is a Simpson's short, where every Disney character is invited to celebrate well, the Disney Plus anniversary except for Homer.

Homer uses Goofy to get in, it's fun to identify what character's the animator's put in, a fun song Lisa sings, but in all to short.

A definite must watch though.

Sheer, stomach-turning garbage
apelieuproar-693899 May 2023
Some years back (I'd guess this was in 2018) when Fox put up its entertainment division for sale, Comcast bid against Disney and ultimately lost, obviously. At the time I desperately hoped for Disney to win because I really wanted them to acquire the Fantastic Four so they could be introduced to the MCU. It never occurred to me then that Disney would also be acquiring 'The Simpsons'. I had long stopped watching the show so perhaps I just didn't care. Or my fandom of the MCU put blinders on me. Marvel Studios (a subsidiary of Disney) was putting out good stuff.

But that was coming to a close and pretty much ended after 2019. Marvel Studios has put out nothing worthwhile since (unless you count 'Spider-Man: No Way Home', which is more a Sony film than a Disney one). And the FF are still a ways away from entering the MCU so the characters won't have any interaction with most of the classic MCU characters. When the FF DO finally make their MCU debut Disney is sure to screw it up as they've done with practically every other property they've gotten their diseased mitts on.

That includes, of course, 'The Simpsons'. As I said, I hadn't watched the show for a dog's age so I was indifferent at best about Disney acquiring it. Now that I see sheer crap like 'Plusaversary' and 'The Good, the Bart and the Loki', boy do I regret ever hoping for Disney to acquire Fox Entertainment. As the saying goes, "Be careful what you wish for" and, holy crackpipe, is that ever applicable here. I shudder to think what the show is like nowadays.

Disney was the worst thing to happen to Star Wars, have managed to ruin the MCU, and now they are the worst thing to happen to 'The Simpsons'.
