Another soulless show from Disney Junior

You've seen this many times before. A group of kids of various races? Check. A token girl who's kinda useless while the boys do all the important stuff and make major decisions? Check. Kids doing adults' jobs and driving dangerous vehicles for inexplicable reasons? Check.

These shows are dime a dozen and they all exist just to peddle toys. This thing, Paw Patrol, Dino Ranch, Pikwik Pack, Pupstruction... You've seen one, you've seen them all.

The animation is passable, though the talking cars' headlights weirdly stretch and deform when they speak and it's distracting. There are also songs which are pretty bad. But kids gobble this garbage up and that's what matters to Disney.

Craig Gerber Strikes Gold Again

Craig Gerber created wonderful shows in the form of Sofia The First and Elena Of Avalor. Firebuds is a show that's pretty different from both of them, yet also carries the same level of quality that those shows have. Everything about this show works. The characters are all well rounded. Bo is someone who's impulsive, yet always strives to do the right thing. Flash is someone who's impulsive and all about strength, yet has a huge heart and great sensitivity. Violet is someone who's well rounded because of how she's athletic yet also imaginative and sensitive. Axl is someone who can be quite mature yet also knows when to have fun and be a good friend. Jayden is someone who always wants to make inventions and do the right thing even if he can be stubborn. Piston is some who's law abiding yet also knows how to have fun. There's some really good Filipino representation and even some LGBTQ representation. The messages are simple, but the charm of the characters helps make everything work. I recommend it.

I'm so proud of the writers for including two moms. You don't understand how few shows allow real life races, ethnicities and backgrounds. This allows children to feel accepted and seen. Thank you so much! The show is very sweet and appropriate for kids. The stories are easy to follow and teach valuable lessons. I'm watching this show with a 4 year old kid who is able to stay engaged as well as tell me exactly what's happening. Some action shows only have a lot of flashy flying and super heroes that you can't quite follow the story line. This show has the opposite. It's calming, has the talking vehicles that the little one likes and includes all kinds of people. Great find.

Firebis is a great show that shows you that everyone can be a hero and that all people Are different. And that it doesn't matter which gender you have and that it's totally normal to have two moms. My absolute favorite character is Cory. A they who is new in the serie. I hope that Cory will stay as a main character! So let your kids watch Firebuds. For fun and maybe to learn something important from them. We're already looking forward to the next season and I hope that much more seasons of the serie will me made. And I also hope that other production companies will follow Disney's exemple and make series about diversity.
