Motive was unclear Warning: Spoilers
SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

. .

. .

. When the big reveal and confession came, (as they always do in these Lifetime movies) Tia's motive for killing Naomi made no sense. There was no reason to kill her either because at that point Brianna was a missing person and there were no suspects according to the news reports that were shown of her disappearance.

Unless I missed something, Naomi had no clue it was Tia who killed Brianna, so Tia killing Naomi made no sense. All she had to do was go on with her life and Brianna's missing person case would've eventually gone cold and closed.

Other than the confusing reveal, it was ok and the acting was good. I just didn't get that whole stupid confession....and why the hell bring their tied up and drugged bodies to their old high school?!

And how on earth did that small girl manage to get the both of them tied and passed out into the school gymnasium in the daylight without being noticed?!...And with a full picnic basket to boot! I kid you not!

The psycho girl had a whole freaking picnic spread right there on the gymnasium floor!!! Why the hell go through all that trouble lol. Like I said, the whole ending made no sense!

Predicatable whodunit!

This movie was a complete waste of time. 3 best friends, Naomi, Willa, and Tia, go out to celebrate the holidays and Naomi turns up dead and it is ruled a suicide. Willa, doesn't believe it, though and she won't stop until she finds out who and why? Both answers come obvious right away. Skip it!

Meh...
rebeltaz-1870526 September 2022
I'm going to give this a five because it's not completely horrible. Sad how that is seen as a positive today, isn't it? Anyway... the story is ok. It's a Lifetime movie, though, so you know what you're getting going into it. Pretty much everything out of Lifetime is a cookie cutter chick flick.

The acting is not award winning, but it's not laughable. The lighting is good. I will admit I didn't see the ending coming, but I wan't that involved in the story, so...

I guess if you like the type of movies Lifetime puts out, you'll probably enjoy this. You already know whether that's you or not, so I don't think I need to say anything more.

Goofy movie.

Particularly the climax. That final scene had me laughing a bit. The movie did well to have multiple suspects and it kept me guessing as to if either were capable, but by the actual villain's reveal, I felt like I was watching a comedy sketch making fun of a Lifetime movie. The movie was so bland that it's not worth spoiling.

It's always hilarious to me how adults (occasionally older than me, and I'm in my 30s) end up back at their high schools for the climax scenes, and yet none of them find it weird. I loved my hs, but being asked to go there at night would raise a red flag or two. Just saying.

Possible a good writer hired for this bad project
Jithindurden26 February 2022
Going into it, I expected trash and I got trash, but in that trash, there were a few things that flickered and showed some promise. The writing, that is a few plot points and some of the dialogues were surprisingly very well done. But those are overall just flickering here and there and couldn't really help the movie itself. I guess the concept was given by the Lifetime channel executives and the writer built upon it. I hope they get chances to really write something worthwhile.

Terrible

I've had dreams that played out better than this movie! Nothing made sense throughout the movie and it still didn't come together at the end. I don't know if it was just poor editing or the poor acting, or a mixture of both.

Deadly Girls Night out
coltras3528 July 2023
The story revolves around Willa, who returns to her hometown for the holidays after years. When she goes on a girls' night out with her high school friends Naomi and Tia, things go awry as Naomi is suddenly found dead. Police say it's suicide, but Willa thinks otherwise and cue a lot of creeping around the victim's house and investigating.

Starts out blandly but progressively improves with some suspenseful moments and some fine mystery, however I wasn't too keen on Willa - played by Gina Vitori - finding her not very likeable. The investigating bits was fun, and it's not a dull film, but it's the protagonist that lets it down.

Getting Her Kicks
lavatch5 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
At Edgewater High School, Willa won the state championship in Taekwondo, and she especially excelled at her kicking techniques. It is clear early on in "Deadly Girls Night Out" that Willa will be putting her skills to great use.

Willa has returned home after failing at all her jobs in the big city. She reunites with her friends Tia and Naomi, who were the Three Amigas in high school. Then, disaster strikes when Naomi commits suicide. But did she?

The investigator side of Willa moves into action to make discoveries suggesting that Naomi was murdered. The perp had to have been someone close to her. Trent Adler, the spouse of Naomi is the #1 suspect. But there is enough strange behavior from Wilia's father Emmett that he must be considered a suspect as well.

Growing up, Willa spent time with her dad gazing at the stars. When Willia's mother died, she was never the same. Now, she even has difficulty in trusting her dad.

My favorite character was Milo, the computer geek who helps WIlla crack the case. There was a fine ensemble cast and good suspense leading up to the big plot twist. The actress playing Willa was successful in conveying both the vulnerability and the strength of character of a kick-boxing champ from Edgewater trying to find an identity at age 30. Her most promising opportunities may be in law enforcement.
