Sex & Nudity

  • No sex, but many kissing scenes and women in low-cut or provocative dresses. Several scenes show men kissing women who are not their wives, and one shows Marilyn Monroe trying to seduce Bobby Kennedy by leaning against him, moving his legs around when she drops an earring, and letting her dress strap fall off her shoulder.
  • A lot of talk about adultery and loose sex. Joe Kennedy openly condones his sons cheating on their wives and cheats with the maid in his own house.
  • Jack Kennedy's philandering is discussed at length as well as Jackie's struggle with it.
  • Many phrases regarding sex are used, including a man saying he knows some men and "who they like to screw".
  • A man walks into a bedroom and begins to kiss a woman, they shut the door behind them
  • A woman in a low cut dress hands a man a drink and as she walks away, the man looks sensually at her butt

Violence & Gore

  • Shots are heard offscreen when both JFK and his brother are assassinated. Jackie is shown after Jack's shooting with blood on her clothes. Bobby Kennedy is shown, dying, after he's shot.
  • Rosemary Kennedy, who has a mental deficiency, is seen shouting in frustration at her inability to express herself and is restrained a bit roughly by her father.

Profanity

  • Basic profanity, nothing severe

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Men smoke several times and there are also scenes of people drinking, including a drunk Marilyn Monroe.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The possibility of nuclear war and battle tactics are discussed at length.
  • Joe Kennedy is shown after a stroke and his attempts to deal with it, as well as the physical affects on him, are saddening.
  • Rosemary Kennedy's mental disorder is covered and can be very upsetting, the most disturbing scene by far being the one when her parents see her for the first time after her lobotomy, and express great despair and grief (especially her mother) when they find that the procedure was not a cure and basically destroyed rather than helped her.
  • The scenes with both the main Kennedy wives (Jackie and Ethel) grieving over their murdered husbands' bodies are very emotional and sad.
