- After their bank heist goes wrong, a desperate criminal, his out-of-control brother, and their motley crew of ex-marines must escape New Orleans and the determined FBI agent who pursues them.
- Jamie is a guy who has a normal life with a regular job. One morning, he leaves his daughter with the babysitter and goes about his day looking carefree, like a child in a park. People seeing him would not have thought that Jamie plans to join a group of ex-marines to rob a bank at gunpoint. Surprisingly, his own brother named Mic is part of the crew, and he looks quite intimidating with a bald head and mean eyes compared to Jamie.
Although Jamie seems like an ordinary guy, he has a hidden side. He has a girlfriend named Ava, and he aspires to be a responsible father, taking good care of their family. To support their daughter who needs surgery, Jamie secretly donates a substantial amount of money through a crowdfunding site. Ava is aware of Jamie's criminal activities but holds onto hope that he will change his ways someday. Ava works at the bank that Jamie and his crew are planning to rob.
The robbery happened just as they planned. The crew prepared themselves with all the necessary equipment and entered the bank to steal a huge amount of 3 million dollars. They didn't know that the police were outside, ready to stop them. As soon as the crew stepped out of the bank, the local police and FBI officers attacked them. Unfortunately, the entire crew, except for the two brothers, were killed. Another man survived, but he suffered severe injuries during the intense gunfire. Shockingly, six cops lost their lives in the violent confrontation.
Mic is really furious and wants to kill the person who betrayed the crew to the police. He thinks the cops knew about the robbery beforehand, and that's why the FBI got involved too. Mic doesn't feel sorry for killing the cops because he believes they were there to hurt them, not arrest them. On the other hand, Jamie doesn't care about Mic's reasons; he just wants to find the traitor. However, Jamie's main worry is getting out of the area safely. They are responsible for the cops' deaths, and Jamie knows that the police will be after them all over the country. But first, they need to get the injured guy the help he needs.
Special Agent Frank Ross arrives at the scene to catch the cop killers who are still on the loose. Now, the brothers are in a desperate situation and have to find a way to escape, especially Jamie, who has a family to take care of. The stakes are high, and the brothers need to make quick and smart decisions to get out of this dangerous predicament. He talks to the bank tellers, including Ava, to gather any important information they can remember. The bank is small, so Agent Ross is curious to know why there is such a large amount of money in the vault. He gets help from Agent Mike Hays and Lt. Bauer, who tell him they receive a tip from a Vice officer.
The tip is about a man named Edward Smalls, who helps Jamie and Mic by providing information about the bank's cyber security, enabling them to carry out the robbery. Agent Ross has a conversation with Smalls to learn more details that could help identify the criminals. Smalls confesses that he gives the information because the men threaten him. He describes the two men as brothers, with the younger one wearing a locket and the elder having tattoos with specific names on them. Using the names mentioned by Smalls, Agent Ross is able to identify the brothers as Mic and Jamie. Now, it is only a matter of time before they are caught and brought to justice.
In the end, Ross does find Jamie's locket in the sulfuric acid, and this convinces him that Jamie is telling the truth. The whole crew that robs the bank is no more; everyone is dead. Among the remaining suspects, Ava, who works as a bank teller, is the last one. The truth is that Jamie had pulled off a bank heist before this one and secretly gave Ava the money for Joan's surgery. Ross approaches Ava, and they have a conversation about fatherhood, during which she gives him some really good advice. Ross' gut feeling tells him she might be involved somehow, but he doesn't want to harm Joan's life. He believes Jamie is dead, but after a few years, it turns out that he survived.
Bill warns Jamie that Nussy will take a huge cut, meaning he will only return 30 percent of the 1.5 million dollars stolen from the bank. Jamie is in a tough spot, but he knows he has no choice. Ava sees Ross at the bank and comes back terrified that Jamie will be caught. Seeing her so vulnerable and fearing that he would leave Joan fatherless, he decides to make the deal.
Mic doesn't know that Jamie has made a deal, which he considers terrible. He expects a fifty percent cut, but when they receive the money, Mic is surprised by the small amount they get in exchange for their hard-earned 1.5 million. Jamie tries to explain that they have no choice, as they need the cash to escape from Ross and the other officers who will arrive soon.
During the argument, Nussy's brother, who brings the cash, sees Mic's behavior and gives him an ultimatum, pulling out his guns. Mic, being volatile, feels disrespected and shoots Nussy's brother. Now, Jamie has no choice but to support his brother. His main goal is to escape, but he can't leave Mic behind. Mic kills Nussy's brother, and Jamie has to take care of the rest of the crew members.
Jamie decided to leave Mic because he knew Mic caused problems. He finally listened to Ava, who was the only sensible person around. Mic gets furious at Jamie's choice and starts blaming Ava. The brothers get into a fight, and then Nussy shows up. They had killed Nussy's brother, and he is furious about it. Nussy's men capture Jamie, Mic, and Ava. Ross and his team hear about the shootout involving Nussy's brother and realize it must involve Mic and Jamie. They had the bank money that needed to be cleaned, so something must have gone wrong during the deal. Following this hunch, Ross goes to Nussy's place.
At Nussy's place, he plans to dissolve Jamie in sulfuric acid and make Mic watch his brother die. Jamie and Ava are tied up and helpless. Mic tries to calm Ava down and bargains for their lives, asking Nussy to kill him instead. However, his plea fails. When Nussy gets too close to Jamie to pour sulfuric acid on him, Jamie seizes the chance to escape and kicks Nussy. Mic takes care of the others, and in the end, he shoots Nussy the same way he shot his brother.
Jamie realizes that Mic won't stop the killings, so he chooses to leave his brother behind and go away with Ava. They get on a bus to leave. Ross shoots at Mic and asks about Jamie's whereabouts. Mic decides not to give him up and tells one last lie before dying. He says that Nussy had killed Jamie. They believe Jamie is dead, but after a few years, he fulfills his promise by calling Ava and Joan to come to the island near the Bolivian border, where he has been living for the past few years.
