Very Nice Story with a light comedy
faisalfaves22 January 2023
This movie is really need to be shown at least in all South Asian countries. Director portrayed the whole message nicely. Nowadays people only want action thrillers and bollywood masala movies, but when some new social awareness film hit the screens nobody wants to watch with their kids and family. Sex Education is really important in our society where people are dying everyday because of their own silly mistakes. Everyone must know about these types of messages and be aware of at least their own anatomy.

I really suggest everyone to watch this light movie, and share the message with their loved ones to be safe and live long. Enjoy.

Its a decent attempt at a very important aspect of our lives - Sex Ed and Protection
piyu02722 January 2023
Last year, a movie (Janhit mein Jaari) was there with Nushrratt Bharuccha in it on the same lines of this movie. The story premise is quite similar thus concept might feel repetitive.

But this movie is up a notch just because it targets the core reason for people not wearing protection - that is Sex Education.

Its very predictable throughout but hey! Its not a suspense thriller anyway. Its a fun movie to watch with a social element.

You can ignore it if you are aware enough, but one with social stigmas about using protection should watch this just to get a hint at that its not a big deal.

Also to understand, what women go through just because men are not sensitive enough or just being ignorant about such an important aspect of life.

Partly Entertaining...!!!
PANDIAN12062125 January 2023
A sensitive also bold stereotype topic handled well by Tejas Vijay who surprises us by adding Satish kaushik who charisma is effortless and easily steals the show ... Rakul preeth in another meaty role post successful performance in "DOCTOR G"...she does cute and expressive way carrying the film single handedly with some of the crispy performance by rajesh tailang and prachi Shah... Despite not being preachy early release of "JAN HITH MEIN JAARI" reminds well at places within a span of 6 months is a mild debacle for the flick.... Overall a good social msg whole heartedly presented by RSVP films falls flat as partly Entertaining.

Funny and watchable
m-ramanan26 February 2023
RATED 7/10 Language: Hindi Media Partner: Zee5

The movie is adequately funny and carried the much needed message throughout the movie. I quite enjoyed the first part. The cast is perfect and its natural....

But the second part looks bit preachy and lack of story telling, especially towards the end. It doesn't mean that the movie is bad... but it becomes more predictable and ended with lecture note.

Must watch for everyone and might not be comfortable to watch with parents... but definitely must watch with partner.

Repeating again for 600 char limitation Must watch for everyone and might not be comfortable to watch with parents... but definitely must watch with partner.

Nice movie with very delicate message !!!
sanju-4232129 January 2023
This is actually a movie with social awareness. I initially thought this movie is about some fun elements related one but when I stated watching i was wrong.

This movie is like Padman and Toilet where those movies talk about their specific content and chhatriwali talks about condom

In this generation people are running out of stories like love story , terrorism serial killer, auto biography, mythology etc.. But we have superb subject around us like Chatrwali I truely appreciate team and support for this movie..

There are many such things where people need to get awareness like miscarriages , preganancy problem , teenagers misusing their private parts themselves without proper knowledge etc.. About all these things people won't talk openly but end up with disasters without taking proper precautions or treatment etc. . i encourage team to explore more about such subject and bring up with enriched story line screenplay like Chatriwali ..

I honestly liked pills side effect concept in this movie. I expect more realistic examples to be shown like that and let any topic to be explained in detail to student or anyone.

Still this movie has a great content and storyline.

People should watch understand and follow this.

Movie had the potential
parth_p87_17 February 2023
This movie had a potential but it's did not stand on it. The story has proper start but has lead character meet each other, the story turn out fast phase and leave the main topic in first half. As the second half begin of movie, after that story catch the topic which the concept of that movie and should be carry first. Over all the movie is ok. Rakul Preet Singh and Sumeet Vyas work was good but supporting characters catch the movie. The character which is been carried out by Rajesh Tailang steal catch whole movie and I love that part of it. Over all at conclusions movie is good for one time watch.

Misguided
naveenkrishnanh23 January 2023
Another misjuided social commentary - though meant to give messages on safe sex, only ends up misleading the public !

Condoms are good for safe sex and contraception pills does have issues - but here also the film does not talk about the full contraception options !

In the case here the optimal solution for the sister-in-law and / or brother in law like Vasectomy or Fallopian Tube tying (since they have completed their family long back) is not mentioned let alone suggested.

Also there are spermicide gels, female condoms etc. Which are also ignored completely !

Condoms are not the best form of contraception ! They are just one of the cheap options - but they are not infallable, good ones are costly, cause environment issues (construction of condoms are not at all green and they cause non degrading and non re-usable hazardous waste )

What a fantastic but educational movie, I loved it so much. Great Job!
stoicmoin7 February 2023
I'm extremely disappointed by the people of India who have given bad reviews about this movie. I'm from Bangladesh and I loved this movie. I loved it so much that I've given 10/10 to this movie. This is the first time for me. I never rated any movie 10/10 before. The highest rating for me was 9, and it was for "Shawshank Redemption".

Those who are judging this movie so much should be ashamed of themselves. Bcoz in my opinion the storyline, acting & directing everything was perfect. There are environmental concerns of producing condoms and other factors. But this movie is based on the social stigma about condoms. If you are so looking for information go watch a documentary.

You negative people from India should learn to appreciate the amazing movies that you guys are making. In Bangladesh, I can't imagine of getting movies like "Chhatriwali" from our movie industry in hundred years. We are so far behind. This is a great movie. And I will watch it over and over again.

Common sense is missing
Raj_Erudition23 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Chhatriwali is missing basic ideas of contraception.

This movie is missing common ideas and showing miss pretension about society. This movie is emphasizing on use of condoms ahead of contraceptive pills which is not bad at all but there are other contraceptive methods such as copper T, tubectomy or vasectomy etc.

Anyways, nothing is new about this movie and story telling is poor.

All the actors worked hard in this movie. Rakul preet singh is excellent and Sumeet Vyas has small work to do which he did well.

Some of the dialogues are funny to watch and some are quite annoying. Director tried to make it simple but it turned out to be boredom.

OUTSTANDING!!!
shaikhirshad-4122310 February 2023
RAKUL PREET SINGH what a performance! Simply nailed it the way she acts in the movie totally stole the show. Whenever she appears on screen she can easily dominate the other actors. Hatts of to the director who directs such a social topic that is not easy to direct. Screenplay is so fast-paced that not even one second you blink your eyes and it's just delight to watch this type of movies if you have proper story telling with humour and emotional connection. Star-cast is brilliant in the movie. From lead to supporting actors all have done fantastically well and the topic that director wants to show to the audience or trying to connect with it. I can definitely say it has reached within the audience. Bym & songs all are good locations is beautiful. The movie end in a simple way but director can easily create a different perspective in ending which would've given movie a much better ending. But then to it's a total worth watch movie. For humour, social message, problem faced issues etc. Strongly recommended for the audience.. (9/10).

Lady on a mission to solve women issues
madanmarwah31 January 2023
This movie seeks to speak on behalf of women who suffer in silence with the discomfort of the side effects of the contraceptive pill when their husbands do not use a condom for whatever reasons. We have a young chemistry graduate ( Rakul Preet) residing in a small town Karnal in Haryana who likes to apply principles of chemistry in day to day life and takes up a job as the quality head of a condom manufacturing company for lack of a better choice. Since the job is likely to cause embarrassment to her family she hides this fact but not for long leading to friction with her husband ( Sumeet Vyas), with her family and the orthodox community of the town in general. She then starts a crusade to educate and instigate local women to pressurise their husbands to use condom and free them from the pain of the side effects of the pill. This is not as easy as it seems as the women discover. ( In a lighter vein, the movie may not go down too well with pill manufacturers).

Director Tejas Deoskar just about manages to give an average treatment to the plot keeping it a bit too simplistic. No in depth or incisive analysis of the subject at hand but just skimming the surface keeping in mind the sensibilities and the taboos involved besides considerations of the censors and the box office. The small town sensibilities are also not so convincingly shown. A female teacher waiting in a make shift arrangement in a field to teach sex education to school kids seems too far fetched. The reference to Kalpana Chawla doesn't seem to fit in. The acting of all is barely average and no complaints on that.

Sex Education is Important
athakare-916586 May 2023
Chhatriwali is a Hindi movie that revolves around the importance of safe sex and sex education. The movie features Rakul Preet Singh as the lead character, Sanya Dhingra, who is trying to change society's mindset about safe sex and sex education. The movie is directed by Tejas Prabhaa Vijay Deoskar and written by Sanchit Gupta and Tejas Prabhaa Vijay Deoskar.

The movie has received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. Rakul Preet Singh's performance has been praised as a true revelation, and she has done justice to her character. Sumeet Vyas, Rajesh Tailang, and Satish Kaushik have also given good performances. The movie's screenplay is crisp and engaging, and it doesn't digress much from the agenda. The movie's message is clear and important, and it is conveyed effectively without being preachy.

The movie's use of humor to address a serious issue has been appreciated by many. The movie is a family entertainer that should be watched with children and the elderly, as it conveys an important message. The movie's flaws are minor and don't take away from the overall experience.

In conclusion, Chhatriwali is a thought-provoking movie that addresses an important issue in an engaging and effective manner. The movie's performances, screenplay, and message make it a must-watch for audiences of all ages.

Boring done to death treatment made for classroom veiwing
Biswas_21 January 2023
We have now entered into an era when people only love or prefer watching films that are interesting or high on mass masala. Chhatriwali is neither interesting nor any mass masala. It is basically a social message film made to spread awareness on condoms , a topic that was already covered last year through Janhit Me Jaari.

It follows the exact same path as Janhit me jaari, a girl gets a job in Condom factory and now she has to hide it from her conservative family while trying to promote use of condoms .

The difference is the humor part. Chhatriwali has absolutely no humor while attempting at trying to make you laugh with it's even worse dialogues. This makes an already uninteresting topic a bore to watch , so much so that, atleast I , half of the time kept scrolling through FB memes and 2 hrs runtime felt like 4 hrs . Atleast Janhit me Jaari made the veiwing experience a bit more interesting with its witty humor. Chhatriwali is a boring done to death film.

Some sequences also felt so awkward. I don't know if any school has any teacher that literally asks the girl students to leave the classroom as he teaches reproduction chapter to the boys. Then , in a sequence in the beginning, Sumit offers a seat to Rakul and Rakul assumes that be flirting!! Like wheres the sense? She calls herself a chemistry graduate educated lady but doesn't have the slightest knowledge to differentiate between flirting and generosity??

Dialogues as i mentioned before are horrible. Some of them felt like some beginner has written them. Everything in this film has been given that cliched treatment with no novelty. Men will stare when a woman joins a condom factory, families will stare when they hear the word condom, people shown still struggling to speak out "condom" while buying one from a shop, all these are cliches already used before in millions of such films.

Performance wise everyone is average.

Songs are there and none are good and are forgettable.

Overall, a film to be shown in classrooms and tribal centres to spread awareness. Others expecting some time pass or interesting watch, stay away.

An educational entertaing Movie
AnoopVarma15 March 2023
Janhit may jaari (Theatre release in 2022) Chhatriwali (OTT released in 2023) Both streaming on Z5 Both films are on same social taboo topic with much self confidence.

Now both films dealt with serious issues such as teenage pregnancy, maternal mortality, unsafe abortions, empowering women with reproductive rights.

Both the movies are brilliantly scripted on relating to society control on women sexuality, lack of extensive sex education, poor access to contraceptives services by women, which are the main reasons for the unprecedented rise in teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.

Importantly both the movies used humour and punch lines in local language of Karnal Haryana and Chanderi MP to educate small town peoples with fun packed two hours entertainment which keeps you laughing till the end.

Hats off to Directors Tejas Vijay Deoskar of Chatriwali and Jai Basantu Singh of Janhit may Jaari for making in a low budget of 12 to15 crores, a entertaining and meaningful sensible informative Film with beautiful dialogues with zero vulgarity, well edited, excellently performed by lesser known actors.

If we can watch a senseless action senceless romance packed movies in name of entertainment, why not such type of topics which needed talking openly, sholuld be made repeatedly.

Such Films should be shown to young teens as well as to women.

Now question is why Jan Hit May Jaari failed on box office answer is simple , our culture and traditions doesn't allow us to talk about condoms and sanitary pads openly by a woman and that's why this film failed at box office.

Copy
dixnicychopra5 February 2023
This movie contains good messages and all but I like to point out that the movie is clear cut copy of Janhit mein jaari. Not only one concept it copied all portions from JMJ. After all JMJ is far better than this movie and Nushrat shown good performance than Rakul also.

I'm confused how this movie got average rating of 7 out of 100 in IMDb. Before doing these type of movies the OTT companies should search about the plot and all. By these resources this movie makers should have made another movie with any social relevant topic. JMJ producer or director can claim copyright infringement against this movie. Anyway I accept the theme and social message but can't accept this copy paste.

this movie should be show first before starting reproduction chapter in class
rs-6858315 April 2023
I recently watched a thought-provoking film that tackled a sensitive topic in a humorous and insightful way. The film, which starred Rakul Preet and Satish Sir, explored the societal stigma around contraception and the impact it can have on individuals and relationships.

As the story unfolded, I was impressed with how the film cleverly used humor to address a serious issue. The witty dialogue and comedic situations helped to engage the audience and bring attention to the topic at hand. The acting performances by both Rakul Preet and Satish Sir were exceptional, and their on-screen chemistry added depth and complexity to the story.

What I appreciated most about the film was its ability to show the reality of how societal thinking can affect individuals in very personal ways. The story's protagonist, played by Rakul Preet, was faced with the challenge of convincing her husband to use contraception, despite his and his family's staunch opposition. Through her struggles and triumphs, the film demonstrated the importance of making informed decisions about family planning and the consequences of societal pressure to conform.

Overall, I highly recommend this film for its thought-provoking subject matter, great acting performances, and clever use of humor to address a serious issue. It is a must-see for anyone interested in exploring the complex realities of relationships, family planning, and societal norms.

Copy cat movie
tryinglift11 March 2023
This movie is a exact copy of janhit meri jaan. What is wrong with these people. I guess once kaushik realized what a dump this movie was, he had a heart attack. Bollywood ran out of original ideas decades ago. They should learn something from south indian (tollywod) movies. I don't know why buying condoms in india is such a big deal. I live in usa, i visited in September of 2022 and i went to a chemist to buy condoms, he pulled it out of a drawer and stuck it secretly in a brown paper bag so no one could see it. India copies everything American, how about they sell condoms like they sell it here. Just put it on shelves in the stores and let customers choose.

Kabhi nai sudharne wala system hai.

Bad storytelling
itsmerahulrocker25 January 2023
Pehle khud k he kaam se Sharm kro,,aur jab gharwalon ko pata chale to khud he ghar chitr chale jao even without saying ur lovable husband...wtf.. "work is worship" if you are ashamed of your work then how can hope from anyone else. Movie ki story aur tight ho skti thi. Misleading information was plotted in the movie. Acting wise movie is very much pretty. Sumit vyas was very cute. This is Not must watch movie at all but you can watch the movie but not with the family. Rakul preet is good in the movie in both ways "acting n look wise ". Chhatriwali is pretty much entertaining movie. If you are free then you can watch the movie.

Negative rating

Sameer lodaya

The movie deserves a negative rating

Same repeated dull and uninteresting topic which is now a days a very stale in this jet age of technology probably there must be some issues in rural areas regarding this problem but Iam sure govt and ngos must be educating the public there is absolutely no need to make a movie on this again and again and spending crores of rupees rather than donate it for the same cause

Rakul was bad so was the pace of the movie Sumit got a good chance of a being a lead

Sorry to makers for giving negative review I hope they take this review positively and come up with a new content.

Lost from the start
rehmankhilji11 March 2023
Rakul Preet Singh, the director and makers giving her lead on a social issue which is very much there, till date, in this part of world. Going on lines of Ayushman Khurrana and Akshay Kumar, taking up a small issue, making a movie, raising the voice. However, Bollywood making too many on similar lines, hence, a little odd, movie is completely unacceptable to the masses. Same with this movie.

Satish Kaushik, last attempt, but as the lead was so unimpressive that all the co stars regardless of their performance are put to complete waste.

Jokes and everything in the movie is just too boring and a complete waste to watch.

Unimpressive.

Message - It's okay to ruin a man's life
dheerajvyas123417 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The message this movie gives to society is that 'it's perfectly normal to ruin a man's life by telling a lie before marriage.'

Movie has nothing else to show anything except sexual matters. And that too not in educational way, but in a vulgar way.

Lead actress was working in an industry which was considered bad in actor's family. Yet she lied to marry. Later when her in laws asked to quit the job, she denied. Now the Boy is left with 2 options - 1. Get separated and live with a 'divorcee' tag. 2. Accept the girl as it is.

Movie shows a shameless girl who thinks a profession is good because she believes it is.

If this is the case, one day people will start thinking that p*rn is educational and thus a good profession, and there will be movies supporting that topic too.

This movie clearly sends a wrong message to society that a woman has full right to lie and destroy a man's life..

There is nothing this movie has to offer except vulgarity.

ILLOGICAL Storyline & Screenplay
agoel-964991 March 2023
I gave 2 star just because it convey good message about women health issue, but the approach is just illogical and pathetic. All women problem can't be solved by using condoms. Yes condom is convenient & cheaper way to prevent the side effects of contraception pill.

Otherwise the whole story & movie is like "kardo ye bhi kro, vo bhi kro, sb gud gobar karna hai"

I can't understand where we can find a shopkeeper who doesn't want to sell a profitable good, when demand is increasing, but here shopkeeper leads the anti commodity protest. Yes, sex education is important in the school, and many teachers skip that part in school, but whose project manager start teaching regularly?? Story writers should decide the character properly.
