A new Bengali deFective.

Gora is nothing but the beautiful result of perfect writing, casting & acting. From the introductory scene of the titular character, you'll understand that it's going to be a good series. Ritwick Chakraborty was the perfect choice for this character. Can't imagine anyone except Ritwick in this role.

Story is not that great, it's similar to other Bengali detective stories like Byomkesh. But, because of the entertaining screenplay you'll be glued to the screen. All the comedy punches worked perfectly. Ishaa Saha was looking beautiful as always. Suhotra Mukhopadhyay as Gora's assistant was very good. Their chemistry is another plus point. Also loved Ananya Sen.

I totally loved & enjoyed the show. Finally, Gora has everything that can make it a very successful & iconic Bengali detective in future. RECOMMENDED.

A flawed yet amusing detective thriller

An atypical murder mystery, a lunatic intellectual with his devoted deputy and a woman with a medical history of sleepwalking; together they formulate this flawed yet amusing detective story, that I'm certain would be applauded by many.

Albeit very much akin to Hoichoi's earlier ventures; the commitments and the urgency shown by the makers should be celebrated anyway. A sincere attempt at doing something along the lines of contemporary investigative dramas; while at the same time, stipulating some of their subjective originality here and there.

One of them is the affluent depiction of Gora aka Gourav Sen; a half-mad individual with an intellectual psyche. An effortless portrayal by Ritwick Chakraborty, who indeed deserves every possible compliment that comes his way.

Suhotra Mukhopadhyay as his loyal assistant Sarathi gets the job done as well. Ishaa Saha, on the other end, did all she could in her short-tenured screen time, but I must say, her part of the story doesn't carry too much weight. In all honesty, it all felt too far-fetched and insignificant.

So to conclude; I would say, despite a very much run-of-the-mill narration and the same old caricaturish humour; it's been quite successful in delivering just the right amount of uncertainty and thrill. Nothing unprecedented, yet a satisfactory outcome nevertheless!

Complete package of entertainment

Hats off to the casting. Season 2 especially the performance of Manali dey & Suhotra just unmatched. Ritik ruined this series with his overacting, usasi seems to be unfit for this supporting role.

I was blew away from the performance of Manali, never expected her in a negative role. She was just incredible. Supporting role of Suhotra, wow.

Series needs add more seriousness to male it a mystery thriller. Unnecessary messing up with names making it confusing.

Story is perfect. Mixed with comedy & mystery. I have watched both seasons. They're both best in market till today in bangla web series world.

Unexpected Detective Story

Ritwik da once again mesmerizes with a stellat performance. Simply one of his best works. What an amazing story. Sayantan Ghosal once again a remarkable job.

A fun watch with great characters

A well scripted story line, Gora and Agaa although feel to be inspired from Sherlock/Watson but they have their own eccentricities making it a fun watch. Ritwik is amazing as Gora; a character who is insanely fun to watch leaving you wanting more of him on the screen. Ishaa as Somlata also is charming and eases into the role. A well crafted season inter wound with fun, mystery and thrill. Look forward to season 2 .

A Definite 10 on 10

Loved the acting of Gora Da and Sarathi Da Loved the storyline.... A bang on start by Hoichoi this year.

Isha Di must not replace Suharta Da is S02 Will be looking forward to season 2.

The storyline of this series is good and The Acting is also good. There is little bit of suspense and thriller but could be more interesting. Overall good series..

This is complete masterpiece. Very well scripted, well played and chemistry between characters is also eye catching. I watched it in Bengali as I am a Bengali and I am really waiting to watch season 02 as soon as possible.

Good acting, but confusing storyline

It wasn't a boring series. There was comedy, thriller and suspense all the time. But how can a detective be so forgetful that he forgets everyone's names and clues? He has an friend/assistant to remember the clues whom he abuses all the time. Gora's character formation seems confusing, as a detective shouldn't forget incidents/clues/names if he wants to solve any crime. Also, what was the point of Somalota here? She didn't have any connection with the story. A completely irrelevant character Somalata was included in the story, don't know what was her part.

Falls Short of Expectations with Unnecessary Detours in the Final Episodes

While the series had promising potential and a captivating storyline, it took an unnecessary turn that ultimately detracted from its overall quality. This review aims to highlight the flaws and missed opportunities that made Gora 2 a letdown for fans.

One of the primary issues with Gora 2 lies in the unnecessary plot twists and forced storylines introduced in the final episodes. Instead of building upon the existing narrative and developing the characters further, the series took convoluted detours that left viewers confused and unsatisfied. These sudden shifts in the storyline not only disrupted the pacing but also failed to add any significant depth to the overall plot.

AMAZING

First of all I wanna say I am a huge fan of rittik da . Nowadays bengali films and web series are developing in. Good way . Gora is beautiful example of this development. The sound track and background musics are amazing. You can't predict the main culprit in the whole series. Every second you will get the suspense and thrill. Every character has their own value in this series . Sarathi's acting I enjoyed the most ,he is polite ,can understand the situation and knows gora most , perfect assistant of gora. Isha Saha looked so beautiful in this series. I expect that they will make more amazing Web series like this .

Watchable

Watchable comedy. Don't expect suspense. Unrealistic story like most other Bengali craps. Didn't understand the role of Ishaa Saha in the series. Watch if you don't have anything else to watch.

Infuses originality and amusement, but falls short on suspense

Gaurab Sen, aka Gora (Ritwick Chakraborty) is a private detective specialising in serial killing cases who Kolkata Police often turns to. Why? Do they lack sleuths in the Detective Department? I am not exactly sure, but that's besides the point. Gora is eccentric, possesses a horrendous sense of music that can scare neighbours, and even influence local shop owners to shut down when he starts singing. He suffers from a strange problem of forgetting names, a state where he can simultaneously call someone by a dozen names other than the original one. It is an issue that's meant to evoke some laughter, but what the series does over its 8 episodes is that it takes the problem to such a high that it grates on your nerves and you pray silently that he doesn't repeat it in the next season. He also speaks so fast that often, you don't comprehend what he just said. But hey, all this goes into building the character of a new and original detective, who isn't a dapper like Feluda or Byomkesh, and certainly doesn't have their polish.

So when he lands this gruesome case of 3 celebrity authors having been murdered with their faces and torsos slashed by fountain pens, their teeth extracted forcibly and replaced by pen nibs, he has already joined the dots and found an incident from Facebook that connect the three. He then goes about meticulously identifying a fourth potential victim for murder and provides him protection from the serial killer in question. He now has to find the killer as he knows the motive and the modus operandi.

Gora never rises to any dizzying heights of mystery, but with the numerous characters associated with the case, it does throw far too many red herrings around. It's difficult to stay focused to the central story with Gora's antics and often incomprehensible dialogues, and then the director chose to inflict us with a somnambulist Somlata (Isha Saha), who approaches Gora to find out why she sleepwalks at her in-laws' place and not at her parents. Really? Hers is a role that almost had her linked to the central murder mystery, but was a near miss. We learn in the end that she stands a chance of becoming Gora's assistant. By the way, the curtain raiser on the real killer comes in a protracted drawing room sequence where Gora goes about methodically unmasking the criminal, a stock gimmick from Feluda, Byomkesh stories closer to home, and Poirot, Sherlock Holmes, Miss Marple a little farther away on the globe.

Nurses and Group D staff (Aya) are not same

The story is definitely good but I must say that How can they say Nurse and Group D staff are same. At first I thought that there is problem in subtitle part but not only the subtitle the Characters are also said that Nurses and Aya are same. They use Nurse and Aya word Synonymously. Nursing is a part of medicine line. They are struggling for 4 years ( B. Sc Nursing) or 3 years (GNM Nursing) and get 50% in each 19 subjects then we get Graduate Degree or Diploma certificate. How could the film Maker and the Characters use those word Synonymously. Please respect Nurses . Nurses and Ayas are not same.
