In war there are no winners

Warning: Spoilers
Firstly, I ship Caitlyn and Vi so much, their chemistry is amazing! Another solid entry, was interesting to see Mel and her mother interact with an introduction to Noxus! Jayce and Vi teaming up was really cool as well, and seeing him use the Hextech in combat! Can't wait to see the finale. Great dialogue and animation as per usual!

Damn best episode thus far. The animation is amazing. The story. The characters. The action. This is a masterful creation and it's everything I've expected from RIOT. Their short animations were already phenomenal and now they've blessed us with this.

Some build up, some pay off, tons of emotion
evansjoshyr20 November 2021
The characters, the action, the music, the visuals. This is what makes this show leaps and bounds ahead of most other netflix shows.

The music this episode is on another level. Many scenes take place without any dialogue and it's the visual storytelling and beautiful, powerful music that bring the huge emotional impact. The scene where caitlin has a shower shows this the most. On paper, it's such a simple scene, but the music and visuals give it so much tension and emotion that makes it such an imersive experience.

This show is unreal, and I desperately hope there's a second season coming because I just can't get enough.

Phenomenal

This must be the greatest animation i've ever seen my entire life, I don't think anything ever comes close to this. Those tense scenes in the last 2 episodes are as good as they come.

A buffet for the eyes
mattdavisdavis30 November 2021
The action in this series is phenomenal, probably the most entertaining sequences I've ever seen in anime. If you take your eyes away for a moment you're bound to miss a beautiful shot. Everything about this show is a win for me and I can't wait for more! Bravo Riot.

Not even sure how to approach this...
GraXXoR31 December 2021
The mix of high fantasy against a dark, painful truth make this episode a real rollercoaster ride.

Just when you think the story might be spiralling out of control, something crashes to Earth to bring home the painful reality of Piltover and Zaun.

Despite this series' increadible Steam Punk and HexTech background, the story never lets go of the characters and their plights.

Compelling, compulsive viewing.

I honestly think that in years hence, this will be looked back upon as a masterpiece in how a series should be composed, written and executed.

Introduction of Noxus

Warning: Spoilers
Introduction of Mel's mother brings us closer to Noxus which means there will be more for the future!! Honestly can't wait for it.

I sense some romantic undertones between Cait and Vi.. which is cool.

I love how they depicted Jinx's split personality almost and her conflict surrounding that. It gets a little old but it's done so expertly, especially her facial emotions, that I don't mind it at all.

Hyping up for the finale!!

Reality and fantasy
hoseani21 November 2021
Music and sequences convey emotions well, and dialogues convey concepts best. In moments, you rise with fantasy and fall with reality. The best combination for a great and appropriate feeling.

You will also learn about the past of some of the characters and the smooth and excellent storyline will move forward.

Singed the doctor knows Shimmer is going to warp Jinx but it's the only way to save her but at the cost of more of her sanity
Neptune16525 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I can't get over how this episode does such a nice job arriving at more or less unexpected, but in hindsight perfectly reasonable, character frictions. Just before, Vi and Caitlyn seem more than harmonious enough, at the very least with regard to goals and values. Then the council scene shatters this illusion. One is still a brawler despite Vander's "fists don't solve problems", and the other is arguably still a sheltered idealist with just as much to learn. Simultaneously, a similar-ish flip is happening with Mel and Jayce. And at this point, it gets even more unclear who and how, if anyone, can solve anything. Very cool. I think the implication is not that Silco is making children work in the factory (fair assumption to make) but rather it's what they have to do to survive, it's a sad reality in some places. Jayce now has a glimpse of how bad it is in the Undercity and to reference his line from the previous episode; "It's hard to believe what they're capable of", now maybe he understands a little.

Great prelude to what's to come next episode
suprmposng21 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Use of music was on point.

The ending culminations were massive How did scientist Jayce learn to fight? Especially against murderous shimmer minions Mel's mother made such a power entry - a true warlord Seeing Heimindinger delve into the Lanes makes a lot of sense the he needed to be pushed out his comfort zone Right now the chess pieces are being set up, convincingly so.

Seeing Viktor get a taste of a life he never had to then get consumed by the thought of having more was done so well. Seeing his assistant make her way unknowingly to encounter a nightmare of a scene and still try to save him at the ultimate price was maybe the best part of the episode.

Terrific world and worldbuilding

Greetings from Lithuania.

8th episode was very good, despite it's being so far my least favorite. And that is saying a lot of how great this show is if even this great episode is one of its weakest one.

All of the production values regarding the animation was superb as usual. Story moved forward. I can't wait to see next episode and as well it's last one. At least in season one. Amazing show so far.

Smells like teen spirit
noisetanklaw4 December 2021
While trying to expand world building into known and welcome territories for League fans, it neglects other important matters about argument. Despite this, it pushes new interesting views over imperialism, capitalism and fascism. Curiously enough, shimmer is a thing in real life.

Storytelling got kind of weak but f-cking hell, punk af Vi with gauntlets - I dig it. Also, Jayce with his hammer, finally... although it got dark too fast.
