In the barn, "Ed" (voiced by Allan Lane) complains about the heat. He has secretly ordered a shower installed, but Wilbur (Alan Young) puts a damper on the idea. Telling the horse they can't afford a barn shower, Wilbur offers to hose Ed down. Ed wonders if Wilbur would hose Carol down. Recently unsuccessful in business, Wilbur is advised by profound neighbor Addison (Larry Keating) to wear a mustache. Addison thinks Wilbur has too much of a baby face. When Carol (Connie Hines) doesn't like his new look or personality, a battle of the sexes ensues. "The Mustache" is smooth and funny.
