All Dialogue is Dubbed.

Personally, I'll choose subtitles over dubbing every time. I adore the westerns directed by Sergio Leone, which are now over half a century old. Somehow, the dubbing for the dialogue in those films is more competent than this recently produced current day film. The simulated interaural intensity (loudness and frequency) and interaural time difference (arrival time) experienced when receiving audio stimuli with both ears is way off for this movie, especially the dialogue.

It's obvious the actors are delivering lines to a stationary microphone. Your eyes tell you the characters are moving around in their environment, but your ears tell you they haven't moved. Also, the intensity (perceived loudness) and direction of the dialogue doesn't change with camera positioning (editing) or voice projection in relation to the actors and the camera (turning away from the camera). It's really disorienting and distracting. The sound mixing and audio post production is woefully incompetent. All the dialogue was mixed to be mono, with only a few exceptions of stereo sound being used. Which means they didn't even try in post.

I know I haven't even covered any other aspect of the film is this review, besides the dialogue audio. That's because, this isn't an issue most films have, even low budget productions. I made it just over 20 minutes into the run-time before I stopped watching. Something very unbelievable happens just after the 20 minute mark, and no one in the scene reacts like a human being. Everything about the scene indicates utter incompetence, from the writing, directing, acting, audio, etcetera. That's when this movie confirmed that its issues went far beyond ADR dialogue, and it was only going to get worse.

Usually, I wouldn't score and review a movie I haven't watched to the end. Since this movie currently has no reviews on the site, I felt obligated to inform others about their potential wasted investment of time if they decide to watch it.

Stupid thriller

Warning, spoilers as I am a bit frustrated with this one. A woman out in the woods has some friends over and a bank robber who betrayed his accomplices and took all the loot is on the run looking for a place to hide. She soon discovers who he is, calls 911 but then hangs up before giving her address, takes a shovel and decides to deal with it herself. That's the basic plot which really annoyed me throughout the rest of the film. All her friends get killed including her neighbor but she does manage to kill him in the end. The end. It was mildly entertaining. This wasn't one of those really bad films that you want to walk out of, I did watch it to the end but it wasn't anything to recommend to anyone either. If you are bored and still want to watch it after I gave away the whole plot then it will pass 90 minutes without being too bored.

If Hallmark decided to make action/thriller movies: It would look better than this.

I found the poor sound quality very annoying from the first sentences on. It obviously didn't get better. Maybe if I had watched the movie with headphones I would get a better audio, but as it was, it was a complete turn off.

The cinematography was really weak too. Add to it poor scenery.

The story was not even slightly interesting plus meaningless dialogues on top. You'll spend the whole story screaming at the movie about how no adult would talk or act like that.

All in all a waste of time. I didn't have high expectations, but I think you can create a better movie than this with little resources.

IT SEEMED LIKE I WAS WATCHING DUBBED FOREIGN FILM

I was occupied with cleaning while I could hear the dialogue and I felt like I was watching Money Heist. Just an unbelievable horrendous piece of dog trash. Lol I watched the trailer and they made t seem like it would be good. Maybe because I didn't hear a word spoke lol Please....do not watch. If I can ever recommend a movie that no one should watch this would have to be it. There is absolutely NOTHING appealing about this. I still have it on in the background whilst writing this review. That's how much I don't care about this movie. It doesn't even seem like the actors are using there actual voices.

Very lacking

I watched it for 15 minutes before turning off.

The acting is poor and the dialogue on the audio track seeming like it was from a different film really distracted from what was going on.

I'm not sure how or why dialogue is dubbed on after completion of scene production, probably because the sound on the set isn't clear and sharp I expect, but they could at least have had the voice actors say the lines that they said when shooting the scenes. Were the actors' voices not good enough?

It was like watching an ad break where all the ads are foreign but dubbed into English to save money.

It's a one from me.

Badly written story and plot but realistic gore

This movie deserves one star out of ten but I gave it another star because the effects and fight scenes arrms good. The acting is good but the dialog and the overall story is poorly written. Such a waste of time and money producing this piece of trash. Using a flashlight on a daylight. The title doesn't even belong in this movie. The movie tried so hard to connect the quarantine, the virus and the fear of people being isolated to why it is happening to the main character. So many useless character in this movie. Stupid character flaws that even stupid people can see they are being stupid. The plot has so many holes and they overused scary music effects. The main character is useless too.

Just Uninteresting

There's not much to brag about here. In trying to find ways to compliment the film, I'm almost at a loss for words.

Let's start with the setting. I actually thought the house, where the majority of the movie takes place, was quite nice. The town backdrop and the virus scare was pretty lame. Some of the actors were okay but the others not so much.

The overall story is just not interesting. The dialogue is lacking and fails to really keep the viewer engaged. Our main character is a bit annoying and we don't really have much reason to care about what happens to her, her friends or the people who are after them.

Awkward and boring

This movie was such a waste of time. They clearly filmed this and then re-recorded the audio after and dubbed it over themselves. This makes an already awkward script even more awkward. Weird conversations, that due to the dubbing, have no emotion.

It's really hard to tell due to this if the actors are actually any good at all, or if it's just because it was dubbed over.

Unlikeable characters, weird editing and a predictable and boring story make for 2 hours of... well frankly of confusion.

And the ending... NO just NO. Waste of time. Don't watch this unless you want a good laugh at how bad this is.

Just awful beyond words

This is the kind of film which really frustrates and annoys. It's not just that the characters do stupid things, much as we see in a great many films. No, it's that it appears these characters are deliberately doing stupid things, that's how it looks.

The overdubbing is bad enough, every line is uttered with a complete lack of any kind of human emotion, but to then add in the utterly stupid decisions made by the cast, elevates this film to a new realm of frustration.

This is an awful film, do not watch.

I'm 80 odd characters short of being able to publish this, so i'm writing anything to get this over the line.

Done. Avoid this film.

NOT thrilling whatsoever. And that was the whole point of this movie. Bummer.

The bad: a "thriller" that doesnt thrill. Not one bit. What do I need say more? The whole point of a "thriller" is that I get excited, that I live in great anxiety of what is gonna happen, that I am shocked. None of that.

Not any good? It aint a terrible movie, but I would categorize "In Isolation" as a tv movie, with below average tv movie actors, with a below average script and with below average technical details, like photography and sound.

In Isolation is just going through the motions. I wonder who this movie could best be suited for and I kinda veer to the tv soap audience, because the casual tv soap viewer doesnt mind below average quality at all, they just wanna see a mildly entertaining story.

Good action

What an incredible fight scene! It really captures the desperation of characters fighting for their lives. Also, I love the way the camera followed hero jump through the window! This movie had me waiting tensely for the next scene. It was entertaining with great action, mystery and subplots. From the action scene, to the adrenaline rush. Isolation although not super fantastic, but a good movie none the less. The editing could have been better along and been more dynamic. All actors were marvelous. A real fun to watch. When the movie ends, you feel like you want more which is the hallmark of a great production.

It is really really ugly

The film is truly horrible to begin the double dumping in English is terrible, I don't know where this film was shot but they seem to want to make it seem like an American film but for me it is not, but on this I could be wrong, there are 2 stories During the film an insipid and the insignificant atra, the acting is just enough, poor and meaningless dialogues in a situation where you are hunted in danger of life because of these people who have lost their reason they speak of trivial things that do not They are useless apart from irritating the viewer! With useless jokes etc ... etc ... this film is an insult the horror genre and despite all the votes received by friends has an average of IMDB of 3.6 !! Which is what it deserves.

Where do I start!

From the get go I was doubting myself as to whether I was seeing or hearing things ....was the film dubbed.... the words were coming out the actors mouths but it felt like they were just in a low budget dubbed film, I'm writing this review whilst watching the film....its that bad! .......I really thought this would be a fab thriller but its boring its made 100% worse by the dubbed voice actors, storyline crap, virus reference...nothing comes from it, its confusing its so fake the deep breathing onto the microphone its irritating and just plain bad.

In fact it's being switched off right now 🤣🤣

I couldn't make it...

I made it 30 minutes in before I couldn't take it anymore. I tried, I really tried. I have sat through some bad ones and there are very few I won't finish but this did not make the cut.

From the first five minutes I knew it was bad. It took me about 1 minute before I realized I wasn't watching a foreign film dubbed in the states. Just...wow. I figured when they watched the final movie, it didn't sound as expected but don't you figure that out ahead of time...like before the final completion? Well, it is super low budget.

I have said this before and I stand by it. Low budget does not equal terrible script, plot acting, directing, cinematography and so forth. This was absolutely awful. I honestly would have kept watching despite the dubbing because I'm a sucker for foreign films so I'm used to it, but everything else was horrible.

Please please take heed to the real reviews and save yourself from this one. If you read any of my other reviews I even sometimes recommend the bad ones but this one, I cannot, I will not, I absolutely refuse, to stand by.

Turn the volume down.

Lot of reviewers complaining about the terrible dubbing. Turn the sound down, and try not to look at the actors (if they were actors) mouths too much. As for the rest of the movie, it isn't the worst movie in my worst movie list. I liked the premise of the story, society breaking down amidst a deadly virus. Covid? Although it isn't specified, but you know, why not. People were being affected by the isolation. As well as this you have the main character, and the one I mainly rooted for, suffering from a phobia. The action sequences were done well, and I think the cinematography was fine for a low budget film. Definitely low budget,because I didn't know any of the actors or director. But,hey,it was a good time filler,and gets an average score from me for effort.

There's no reverberation off the environments, and there's no positional audio for the dialogue too. It makes watching the movie almost impossible, because it's so distracting.

Very good movie with good storyline. Quite well written characters. I liked the movie. I recommend for viewing. There are many interesting details in this film. Everything suited me perfectly. There is nothing to complain about in it. For me, this movie is one of my favorites. I have rewatched it many times. I highly recommend this movie. A very good movie. I like. Everything is pretty good about it. I advise. If you are thinking about whether to watch this movie or not, then you should definitely watch it. The storyline is very well written. There are practically no shortcomings. The film itself is quite interesting and addictive to watch. I'll say it again. The characters are well written, the plot is interesting, there are no shortcomings, the picture itself looks very good, I advise !!!!!!
