So Disappointed. I quit. The phrase "jumped the shark" comes to mind. The symbology & interpreting clues & examination of oscure philiosophies is gone :(

Im a big fan of Dan Browns books about Robert Langdon - DaVinci Code, Angels & Demons, The Lost Symbol, Inferno and Origins. DaVinci Code was my favorite. I was also pleased with Tom Hanks movies even though they did water down some aspects to avoid angering the public. I was so excited to discover this series was airing on Peacock. But as of Episode 6 gone are Freemasonry, mysticism, mythology, theology, research into the power of the mind or any interpretation of symbols and solving of puzzles. Gone is the thrill of the hunt or joy of revelation. All thats left is an ordinary common dark crime drama. I dont care what happens anymore although I have an idea. Its been a long time since I read the book. Recently picked it up again. Its so much more satisfying.

Noögenesis

Well Mal'akh has been caught and his identity revealed. He was Zachary all along.

So this episode will have to be the backstory. How did the snivelling, pathetic Zachary morph into the buffed up bitter super villain.

This being only episode 7. It was a no brainer that Mal'akh will escape his consignment.

This might leave Sato in a vulnerable position.

Not something that needed a hour but this is the new serialised format of episodic television.

Four hours of television stretched into a silly 10 episode serial.

More of nothing basically.

So this series is meant to be about 'symbols and interpretation of the symbols'. What you actually get are more odd questions. Why is Peter Solomon still holding his stump? Get a bloody sling. Why does Sato run as if wearing clown shoes? Why when arresting someone does the person with the gun just keep orbiting the suspect? That's in the first 5 minutes. Then the big question, if you can't fulfill a series based on Dan Brown's writings why actually bother? Either forget the licence and brand it something else. Then people would be less critical or up the budget and bloody do something.

Why did they even make this show?

I gave it chance after chance. No character acts or reacts in any fashion that regular people do. It's as bad as old daytime soap opera melodrama. The best episodes were the first few.

So let me get this straight...

You capture a murderer and a complete psychopath. Then you put him in this room with no bars just him sitting on a chair in handcuffs and you leave him alone? Instead of watching him closely and guarding him you put a guy in another room with screens watching him and think 'yeah that should do it.'. Then when he starts huffing and puffing like that nobody thinks to go check on him? And that the CIA?

Wasn't too high on the show but gave it shot. The first few episodes weren't bad but they are starting to lose me.
