Miranda is genetically designed to be alluring, with her body having been engineered to physical perfection. This is discussed in game, though mildy.
Jack's default outfit is revealing and covers the bare minimum of her upper body to avoid explicit nudity.
The camera is often angled to show off a woman's buttocks. However, the legendary edition's camera angles are altered to avoid this.
There is no nudity but you can (male) take your shirt off. No sexual content except for in-game relationships which involves kissing.

Mild blood. Enemies burn slowly but not bloodily. Some humanoid enemies can be shot at close range with a shotgun and will have parts of their bodies removed.
There is a certain kind of enemy that may explode when killed. Not too graphic, but bloody bits are very briefly seen when the enemy blows up.
Blood occasionally splatters on surrounding objects when a character is shot.
There is an area on a Collector ship where there is a pile of dead human bodies, many with obvious dismemberment, though there is no blood; all of the wounds are blackened.

Similar amount of language to the original game. There are some uses of "Fuck", but are very uncommon (about ten uses overall) and most of them are said by one character.

Characters can drink alcohol, and sometimes this can visibly affect the character.
One man smokes in nearly every scene he is in. There is no implication this is anything other than tobacco.

A woman is graphically melted inside an alien pod, screaming and clawing at the glass with some blood spraying and severe burn wounds appearing before sinking offscreen into her own goo. Often regarded as one of the most disturbing scenes in the series. This is somewhat obscured in the legendary edition with less transparent glass.
There are death scenes that involve main characters being killed. This will upset some players.
It should be noted that the tone of ME2 is much darker than that of ME1.
The Overlord DLC content can be quite tearjerking due to violence against a savant with autism.
