When the man takes his tie off in the kitchen it is off, back on, then off again.
About 40 minutes into the movie, Michael Peyton removes his tie while in the kitchen speaking to his wife. Then, they cut back to him, and his tie is still on once more, before reverting back to being off for the remainder of the scene.
In the final scene, it appears there are two cars in the driveway. When Ava leaves, there is no other car, then it again reappears in a wider shot, on the opposite side of the driveway.
Although it is not specified where the movie is supposed to take place, it is implied that it is Washington state with all the cars shown having Washington license plates. However, there are many aspects of the movie showing that it was filmed in southwestern British Columbia, such as a Coast Capital Savings branch (a wholly British Columbia institution) and a real estate agent sign with a 604 area code telephone number.
On her cell phone, the Peytons' daughter's first name is spelled Ava. In the end credits, it is spelled Eva.
