I find it so frustrating when writers seem unable to move the plot forward unless they have otherwise genius level people doing incredibly stupid things.
I get people under duress make bad decisions, but Justin abandoning her unconscious & defenseless father & Faraday from a rather secure & defensible position, leaving the door wide open, to go bust out & wander around in the dark against multiple trained professionals isn't just stupid, it's potentially suicidal & reeks of white macho cowboy nonsense. They really need a Black woman writing her character. I just don't believe a brilliant Black woman/mother/scientist would do half the dumb panicky crap she does.
It's offensive to the characters, to the audience, & to the other characters who sacrificed in order for them to succeed. There are other ways to have the plot progress without throwing her under the bus.
The ways things are going, if Faraday, Justin, & her Dad succeed, it will be despite their combined intelligence, not because of it. On the other hand, if Clay succeeds, it will be despite his stupidity.
Overall, I'm enjoying the series. Just sick and tired of seeing smart women forced to do dumb things so they fail, while mediocre men do dumb things and somehow keep managing to succeed.
ENOUGH.
