Kushi- Not so kushi
surajgorti2 September 2023
Kushi is a 2023 Telugu film starring Vijay Devarakonda, Samantha, murali Sharma, Sachin khedekar etc. Directed by Shiva Nirvana and produced by mythri movie makers.

Kushi as the name suggests, has fun elements, drama, emotions and everything that'll make you feel exaggerated. Now coming to the plot, Viplav, works as an employee in BSNL Kashmir branch. There, he meets Aaradhya and falls on sight for her. How he'll impress aradhya and what made the actual drama start is the whole plot.

The romance drama shown in the first half felt routine and forced. It's literally the early 2000s technique of making a girl fall in love. Vijay with his impressing skills made Aradhya impressed but not the audience. His tone and the cheesy dialogues can be irritating. Hesham's fresh tunes and bgm will definitely make us fall in the love trance . The Kashmir sequence was just to introduce the characters and the story. And not for anything else. The location was used for the best reason (love) but was not presented in the best way.

As the film is entirely about love and aftermath, the screenplay gets faster in the first half and again it gets paused. The entire story is presented in the trailer and the same way. Viplav marries Aradhya by opposing each other's parents and gets the drama started. The second half is entirely about the post marriage effects. They were shot well but were dragged. Overall, ends with a good note .

The bonding between Viplav and Zoya (Rohini) was shown well and she carries the best emotions in the entire Kerala sequence vis-a-vis Jayram.

Parallel Films like ante sundaraniki, has the same story with added caste element, but, this has something new concept which was interesting and could be liked by few

Music plays an important role in every films, hesham is the aboard for kushi. The bgm and the songs are definitely a huge hit. Still hits you differently when listening it in the hall.

The film is focused.lre on the self respect of every individual and it lasts till the last. The conflict between the fathers of Viplav and Aradhya can be a whole new plot itself.

Coming to direction, Shiva Nirvana directed it well and carried a particular emotion throughout the movie. My pov, Shiva Nirvana is the only director in TFI who can portray emotions and carry it in the best way possible. His previous films like ninnu kori, majili are the best examples of how emotions travelled with the screenplay.

Few sequences like the bike chase, metro fight etc didn't impress and doesn't have any entertaining quality esp the metro fight.

While the new romantic dramas are mostly focused on convincing parents and getting married. Kushi gets it done in the first half and enters in the unseen zone.

However, kushi is the drama needed for the present romeos and Juliets and not for the devdas. Singles might like it and enjoy but may not relate to it. Overall, Kushi is the much needed comeback for both Vijay and Samantha. Not a perfect comeback but yes, a new and good way to start a fresh, new journey.

Verdict, kushi is the wholesome entertainer for this season which can be enjoyed with the family, friends or even solo. It has all the qualities of how a romantic journey starts. Another reason is Hesham Abdul Wahab. Kushi is the perfect musical ride and enough to rule your playlists.....

Neither Here Nor There
murlimohanrao2 September 2023
I watched the first day first show with a lot of anticipation and the movie really disappointed me. Before I get to that, the positives, the cinematography, especially Kashmir mountains are a joy to watch. Devarakonda does well as a modern, besotted lover. Samantha looks ill and lazy throughout the movie. Maybe she just was looking to complete the movie and her health did not support. Beyond all this, the movie is narrated from the woman's perspective on marriage largely. That is what I disliked the most. In many ways, this movie is similar to Alai Paayuthey, the Mani Ratnam classic. The storyline bears an eerie resemblance of two couples from polarising backgrounds coming together and going against parents to marry. Reality hits them hard after marriage and with parents alienated, they have nowhere to go. It's then that a couple outside the family (here Rohini and Jayram) and their Arvind Swamy and someone else show them what a true marriage is. That was a big, big letdown.

A Shih Tzu was given away for FREE.

Viplav falls in love with Aradhya, THE Vijay Devarakonda style by chasing after her in Kashmir. The Issue is their respective fathers being rivals. His an atheist and her's a theist, who fought on a live TV debate. As Viplav and Aradhya's horoscope don't match, her father refuse to give approval for their marriage while his father refuses to accept a theist. The couple marry against the families' wishes and what challenges they face, that threatens their marriage and will love triumphs all, forms rest of the story.

The celebration of Mani Ratnam - AR Rahman aside, Kushi lacked the touch of realism one gets to witness in a Mani's film. The film's first act set in Kashmir where Viplav falls head over heels for Ara, despite being told she is a Pakistani Muslim, felt too dull and it was mainly the actors who tried to salvage it. Sadly, the entire segment looked too bland. THE VD and Samantha's chemistry starts working but the director failed to explore the atheism vs theism concept in a better way.

The conflict point with a personal loss, fueling the fear of going against the beliefs was strong enough but it wasn't explored properly. The impact of the said conflict, was reduced with stale comedy scenes that followed with each fight. The reference to Arjun Reddy was okay for a quick laugh but sadly the characterization of Rahul Ramakrishna felt problematic to get those comedy scenes to work. Jayaram and Rohini's scenes bring in the emotion, taken straight out of a Mani's film. Sadly the whole third act falls flat and it's solely due to the writing. Someone like Lakshmi getting wasted in a forgettable role was sad.

Kushi is a bland affair and though making is good, it deserved better writing.

160 Minutes of Boredom.
best-review1 September 2023
The movie's plot may appear quaint, perhaps suitable for the 1980s era, yet it struggles to resonate in contemporary times. The screenplay lacks originality, with each scene and sequence treading a path of monotony and predictability, reminiscent of tropes prevalent over the past three decades. The dialogues, sadly, fall into the realm of familiarity.

Vijay Devarakonda's presence feels ill-suited, as he comes across more like Samantha's younger sibling than a fitting co-star. Their on-screen dynamic appears contrived, with Samantha's tendency to overact being a recurring issue, her appearance in this film is more artificial. On the contrary, the supporting cast executes their roles competently.

While the production design, costumes, and makeup all exude a sense of opulence, they lack vitality. The cinematography can be deemed satisfactory, though the editing could have been more succinct. Clocking in at a runtime of 2 hours and 45 minutes, the movie's duration is excessive for a romantic comedy and proves tiresome for an unengaging narrative.

Although a couple of songs manage to make a decent impression, the background music becomes overly pervasive in certain instances.

"This film portrays Orthodox Hindus as superstitious and unintelligent, while depicting Atheists as arrogant. However, it contradicts the idea that Orthodox Hindus are willing to marry their daughters to individuals from different castes and beliefs easily. It also suggests that Rationalists will contribute to environmental pollution and disrupt public peace by playing loud music, bursting crackers in front of government offices, and dancing."

Konda movie
yaswanthkc2 September 2023
One more kinda movie from Vijay Devarakonda.

Story line is combination of ante sundaraki and sakhi.

Unnecessary dialogues and background music was copied from old Kushi in some scenes. Aishwarya Rajesh has done better acting compared to Vijay and Samantha.

Not sure what they were trying to show to audience in this film.

The 2 rating I gave was for some jokes and one action sequence.

It is not a theater watch. It will be OTT soon. I felt like I wasted 3 hrs watching this film. Interval ads are better than the film.

I don't even understand why this movie was named as Kushi.

Going forward please don't use hit movie names for such kind of flops and ruin the names of those movies.

One time Watch
nsk-949083 September 2023
"Kushi," featuring Vijay Devarakonda and Samantha in lead roles, is a film that encapsulates the essence of youthful romance. While it possesses some commendable attributes, it also grapples with certain shortcomings. In this in-depth review, we'll delve into the movie's strengths and weaknesses, shedding light on why it stands as a one-time watch.

One of the most striking aspects of "Kushi" is its music. The film boasts a delightful soundtrack that not only enhances the viewing experience but also leaves a lasting impression. The songs are a blend of melody and energy, perfectly capturing the essence of young love. Vijay Devarakonda and Samantha's on-screen chemistry truly comes alive during the musical sequences, and these moments are a highlight of the movie. The music serves as a potent vehicle for conveying the characters' emotions and adds a layer of depth to the overall narrative.

However, a notable drawback of "Kushi" is its extended runtime. At nearly three hours, the film's pacing becomes a cause for concern. While certain portions of the story are engaging and emotionally charged, there are extensive stretches where the narrative slows down considerably. This extended runtime may test the patience of viewers, especially those accustomed to faster-paced storytelling. A more concise and tightly edited version of the film could have amplified its impact and made it more accessible to a wider audience.

"Kushi" firmly falls into the category of a one-time watch. It offers moments of humor, romance, and drama that can provide a decent evening's entertainment. However, it lacks the depth and innovation necessary to leave a lasting impression. The storyline, though relatable, adheres to a predictable trajectory, making it relatively easy to anticipate the unfolding events. While the chemistry between Vijay Devarakonda and Samantha is undeniable and adds charm to the film, "Kushi" ultimately fails to break free from the shackles of conventionality.

The central love story in "Kushi" follows a familiar and somewhat routine path. It revolves around two individuals, (Vijay Devarakonda) and (Samantha), who start off on the wrong foot but gradually develop feelings for each other. While the initial clashes between the characters provide moments of humor and tension, the transition into love and the subsequent challenges they face feel formulaic. Viewers who have seen similar love stories may find "Kushi" lacking in originality. The film misses an opportunity to offer a fresh perspective on the age-old theme of love.

One can't help but feel that "Kushi" could have benefited from a more impactful and innovative conclusion. The movie builds up a considerable emotional investment in the characters and their journey, but the resolution falls short of leaving a lasting impact. A more thought-provoking or unconventional ending could have elevated the film and left a stronger impression on the audience. Instead, it adheres to a somewhat conventional and expected conclusion, which, while satisfying, doesn't stand out in the crowded landscape of romantic dramas.

In summary, "Kushi" is a film with notable strengths, particularly in its music and the chemistry between Vijay Devarakonda and Samantha. However, its extended runtime and adherence to a routine love story formula hinder it from becoming a cinematic gem. It can be enjoyed as a one-time watch, offering moments of laughter and romance, but it may not linger in your memory for long. While the film has its merits, it leaves room for improvement in terms of storytelling and innovation, especially in its conclusion. Nonetheless, fans of the lead actors will find their performances endearing, and the catchy songs will stay with you even after the credits roll.

Mr Devarakonda please stop doing movies.. worst movie I saw this year
charanpavanje1 September 2023
Same usual storyline with this lead hero overacting, chemistry between lead pair not matching at all. However Samanth was good but this hero spoiled entire movie. Give some opportunities to newcomers instead. Wasted my time and money, will never watch this guys movie in my life. Boring story, no newness. Not even a 1% compared to Pawan kalyans old Khushi movie. Very very disappointed, another flop of the year he is a burden to the producer and other persons of the movie team. Story starts with some old routine 90s concept one good song and this guys worst acting no good reason to watch this movie. God know why this movie has got so much screens in cinema.

A middling romantic drama with exceptional emotional quotient!!
thottempudikiranprasad1 September 2023
Ordinarily regular story telling yet entertaining initial half!!

Simple intro to characters and their world... dives right into breezy love track!!

The humor is executed well and adds to the experience!!

Few unnecessary fillers during the movie setup are bearable... Exceptional production values... impressive in most of the parts, technically could have been better!!

Emotionally engaging later half!!

Throughly developed characters with perfect blend in arcs!!

Not so conventional conflict point, few forced sequences disrupt the viewing experience... Songs & BGM are the most impressive part of the film!!

VD & Sam nailed their roles, their chemistry is just perfect!!

Final 30min of the movie is where lies it's heart, emotionally exceptional!!

Although there are some drifts in the screenplay, resulting in a slightly lengthy narrative, anticipating these flaws makes the movie a good watch... 3/5.

Worst Direction, Screenplay and story
yashwanthpamulapati3 September 2023
Their daughters name is kushi... You'd expect better from a director of "ninnu kori". It's one of those movies where a song is added just cuz there has to a song irrelevant to the scene. Characters are not well written. Dialogues are the worst. VD's dialogues and his delivery especially are the worst. By the second half you'll think why did I spend money to watch this?

Second half ending.. lol.. story is soo bad that they just ended as school play. "Zero respect to women and is how the men are" Is what this movie tried to show. The lead actor is basically not matured and is a 20 year kid character with zero sense. Some of the dialogues doesn't even make sense. Watching this movie at this age of time is shame.

Kushi: A Rollercoaster of Comedy and Rituals with Mixed Messaging
bccnkiran2 September 2023
Kushi, a romantic comedy starring Vijay Devarakonda and Samantha, delivers entertainment with exceptional performances. The storyline, set against the backdrop of religious beliefs and atheism, attempts to emphasize the importance of rituals, especially in marriage. However, it falls short by neglecting scientific principles. The film shines in comedy and boasts impressive cinematography and visuals. While lacking memorable soundtracks, character development and relationships are well-executed. Ultimately, Kushi leans towards comedy, making it a decent choice for laughs but not for a profound narrative. I'd rate it 6/10stars.

Worst direction without basic research
kanth-sony2 September 2023
What kind of direction it is! He did not do a basic work on tracks like love, meaning less fight in kashmir, man's fertility, emotions of families from different religions, track in an office party , what else. How illogical the whole drama is. Love happens out of nowhere. Marriage happens in no time. Boring and boring emotions and irrational and senseless scenes. Overall you can look at your wrist watch many times thinking when will the movie end. Except BGM and Vijay, Rahul's fun track nothing seems interesting. Direction is the worstest that I've ever seen. Samantha looks so dull and pale..

Good comeback movie for both
ravimidda7 September 2023
Vijay delivers both laughter and action in 'Kushi.' The first half is a treat, with entertaining comedy scenes featuring Vennela Kishore and Vijay, along with impressive fight sequences. This movie showcases Vijay's versatility, adding fights and dance skills to his repertoire.

However, the central theme involving Vijay and Samantha's parents lacked the depth and seriousness it needed. The commitment to portraying this aspect of the story was somewhat lacking. Additionally, the portrayal of 'love at first sight' fell short in convincing the audience of a genuine connection.

Vijay's slick facial expressions before the interval set high expectations for the second half, but unfortunately, Siva's direction disappoints in the latter part of the film. The conflicts between the characters after marriage are not well-developed and leave the audience wanting more. 'Kushi' has its moments, but it could have benefited from a more thorough exploration of its themes and character dynamics.

Lag movie
yvksudhakar1 September 2023
With lot's of expectations, there is nothing in the movie. First half is just okay but coming to the second half director lagged the movie. Finally, it's your wish to watch or not. Vijay devarakonda acting is as usual and same kind of dialogue delivery and diction and he need to improve his acting skills a lot. Samantha looks like very aged in this movie and it's better to say goodbye to movies.

Music is somehow good.

Director didn't concentrate on the taking of the movie. Background music is okay and editing is also not upto the mark.

Final verdict - you can watch this movie at your own risk.

Replace Vinay Devarkonda with a better hero who can act
pratikdaftary17 September 2023
The story line is good, Samantha outshines the hero. Vijay as usual is dull , no command over his dialogues, fake attitude, lacks screen presence. The reason for the movie not doing well is 100% because of Vijay.

Direction is good, songs could have been better. Overall the film fails to connect with the audience. Samantha plays her part well on the other hand Vijay spoils the fun. He is needs to work on his dialogue deliver , acting the way he reacts to other actors.

Not even 1 time watch. Vijay Anakonda spoils it, if it was not him other hero could have pulled it off.

Overall rating 1.0000.

Disappointing
malavika-423081 October 2023
With such a strong star cast I expected the movie to out of this world but was quite disappointed at the level they've both stooped to. Who would say these are the same actors from masterpieces like Arjun Reddy and Family Man 2? All through the movie the only question I kept asking was why! Why did these two talented actors have to sign a movie like this? From the kashmir saga to the forced comedy, the chauvinism to the awful makeup! While the social issue highlighted in the movie is applause worthy, the dialogues, drama, acting were all below par. The songs were the only saving grace. And the beautiful locations of Kashmir and Kerala.

Love before and after marriage.
morampudipadmaja3 September 2023
Kushi movie covered Indian tourist places like Kerala and kashmir beautifully. It touched the love angle before and after marriage. The beauty of the story is that you can be happy only with your loved one but not without. Throughout the story the bonding between hero and heroine is so strong that they have succeeded all the hurdles in life like health, myths and difficulties in work life etc. It is a perfect icon of love for youth. It is our culture, unlike live-in together. You have to undergo all the stages of life like love, madness, quarrels, separation, on your own. Then only you will become a perfect couple. The story touched very sensibly the difference between science and spirituality. I like the way the difference is portrayed without annoying both concepts.

Routine boring and forced emotions..
jysnuhdn1 September 2023
Routine boring template movie..first half was decent but second half tests your patience to the next level. I would not recommend watching in theaters. The emotions were totally forced. The conflicts between leads are not convincing enough for them to show such extreme emotions. The song scolding wives was very cringe and was totally misplaced. Fight in the train was way over the top and was totally unnecessary. Justification for the title of the movie at the ending was not convincing. Felt like a cheap version of Maniratnam movie..not in terms of movie visual quality but story quality. However Vennela Kishore did very good and his comedy portion was decent.

The worst film I saw in 2023
aayaz1081 October 2023
It was the very worst movie that I had ever watched in my whole life; it was also the largest catastrophe that had ever occurred.

In what direction exactly are we going?

He did not do fundamental research on topics such as love, which would have reduced the amount of fighting in Kashmir, the fertility of men, the feelings of families who practiced various faiths, tracks at a workplace party, and other topics. What a ridiculously absurd drama this is. The feeling of love might appear out of nowhere. Any moment is a good time to get married. Uninteresting and uninteresting feelings, as well as foolish and nonsensical scenarios In general, you could find yourself checking the time on your wristwatch quite a few times, wondering when the movie would come to a conclusion. Nothing appears fascinating, with the exception of the background music and Vijay's upbeat tune. I cannot think of anything worse than the direction that is given.

a 3-in-one film from the Telugu industry
saru202029 October 2023
The first 20 mins felt like watching some crappiest content but then the film moved onto another zone when the lovers' parents came into the picture, but even that wasn't interesting enough and then the film took us on a completely divergent path of a typical family drama which was kinda different to watch yet not so entertaining as such but if you look at the overall arc of the film, it kinda makes sense to have watched it once since this one is more like a 3-in-one kinda film especially coming from the Telugu industry.

Overall, if you feel bored and want to kill the time, then it's for you for sure.

Enjoyable rom com
SonGoku5402 October 2023
The movie doesn't explore groundbreaking themes, instead focusing on everyday relationship challenges. The second half takes a light-hearted approach to these issues and is enhanced by great music and stunning visuals.

The interactions between the lead characters in the latter part of the film are perfect for family audiences. While not entirely original, they are convincingly portrayed. Vijay Deverakonda impresses as Viplav, shedding his mass image for the role and maintaining an uber-cool demeanor throughout. His comedic timing and performance in pivotal scenes are endearing.

Star actress Samantha shines in her role as Kushi, exuding charm and delivering a nuanced performance. Her chemistry with Vijay Deverakonda is palpable, and she handles emotional sequences with ease. The humor is decent, and the emotional moments in the latter part of the film are well-executed. Supporting cast members including Sharanya, Murali Sharma, Rohini, Sharanya Pradeep, Sachin Khedekar, and Rahul Ramakrishna also deliver commendable performances.

The movie becomes somewhat predictable, which affects its impact. Knowing what's coming next can make it less engaging at times. The Kerala episode could have been better executed.

The film is lengthy and could benefit from some editing, particularly in the extended Kashmir sequences. The first half lacks momentum, but it picks up after the pre-interval scene. While the director mentioned the film addresses a sensitive issue during promotions, it doesn't offer a particularly fresh perspective and feels reminiscent of other films.

Hesham Abdul Wahab's music shines as the unsung hero of Kushi, with superb songs beautifully captured by cinematographer Murali. The rich visuals elevate the overall viewing experience, thanks to Mythri Movie Makers' commitment to production values. However, there's room for improvement in the editing.

Director Shiva Nirvana handles Kushi decently, opting for a relatable concept that resonates with married individuals, delivered in his signature style. His films consistently address everyday life issues, and Kushi is no exception. The casting and technical team are commendable, showcasing the director's skill in assembling a talented crew.

In summary, Kushi is an enjoyable romantic comedy with a strong second half. The film's central theme comes to life in the latter part, delivering compelling drama and emotions. Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha deliver charming performances, well-supported by the rest of the cast. However, the film's initial portions are less impressive, and a shorter runtime could have had a more significant impact. Nevertheless, Shiva Nirvana presents a relatable film for family audiences, making Kushi a worthwhile watch.

This movie not represent reality.
salimulmd2 October 2023
This movie have so useless thing . This movie very badle damage our world.

So I think please band this movie.

The special effects were outdated and unconvincing, making it hard to immerse myself in the supposed fantastical elements of the film. The cinematography was lackadaisical, lacking creativity and leaving scenes feeling dull and lifeless. The soundtrack felt out of place and did nothing to enhance the overall viewing experience.

Ultimately, "Disasterpiece" failed to live up to even the lowest expectations. I would strongly advise moviegoers to steer clear of this film, as it simply falls short in every aspect of what makes a movie enjoyable.
