Movie lacks story line and direction , there are only couple of good punch lines in whole movie. Whole punjabi film industry contributed into this movie but could not make a difference. Storyline progresses very slowly with songs every 15 minute to stretch the screenplay time.

Characters played their roles well.

Full movie was boaring completed this movie in 5 days by just forwarding no storyline worst ending. Most irritating part of this movie is teeth of gippy garewal. He need to learn about comedy. I don't know how people rating this movie more then 2 star. Time wasting movie. Totally waste of time.

Gippy GREWAL at his worst

I cannot believe how this movie was released. This is an absolute disaster with horrible acting, direction, dialogs. And the overall content and storyline seems to be written by a kindergarten student. They are portraying old Punjab Only in aesthetics but not in culture. There was a lot of respect for females and what they are saying in this movie is not even remotely possible. Next line could not understand if Gippy is portraying a mentally retarded person or just a pervert. Every dialogue is absolute cringe worthy.

I have no idea how people are giving it more than zero rating. Apparently those are fake reviews mostly by close friends or people from production team itself Recently Punjabi cinema has produced excellent movies like warning and Panchhi but this movie completely crashed the standards to ground.

Absolute disaster of a movie. Don't even bother to watch it if somebody pays you. Such a double meaning dialogs and gestures that it becomes embarrassing. Where is censor board ...... oh I forgot that censor Board people can be bribed easily.

Something unique, fun and moralizing.

The main character played by Gippy Grewal is a character to remember for ages; 'Girdhari', the only unmarried brother remaining in the family seems to finally find a bride for himself and is basically the overall plot of the movie. In a very filmy way, Girdhari potrays what kind of a woman he seeks as her bride which then potrays glimpses of the ladies he was about to encounter in different scenarios.

Although the main protagonist will be seen generally passing a creepy smile and carrying a very straightforward attitude to which the movie changes its orientations around.

Watching it on prime video allowed me to skip through the songs occuring every half an hour or so but it is what it is.

Overall, its a movie not to be judged too soon, maybe not for everyone's taste, but I am writing this review because at one point, where Girdhari claims that I will invite everyone at my wedding, even the ones that I don't talk to much, that is the point where I literally fell in love with the character.

Plus, the ending of the movie is unique in its way so its definitely worth watching.

Poor acting and story

Surprised that Neeru Bajwa would sign for a movie like this. This movie fails to develop any solid story, does not elicit any emotion other than a couple laughs here and there and is cringe worthy over all - at the level of acting, location, storywriting.

Movie is good but the content & dialogues are such that can't be watched with family. Contains punches & dialogues that are double meaning.

You will not enjoy it if you will watch with family.

But with friends you will definitely welcome it.

I waited till the very end to justify the review. But I think some punjabi film makers are just churning out movies without any substance. No story no character arc, just to extract money from producing houses and viewers they make films which are worthless.kindly improve your skill if you have any.

Awsome movie. Everything is perfect from story to direction to acting... Gippy is amazing loved his jodi with himanshi . Himanshi was a surprise package not only she looked gorgeous but her acting part was just superb..love the song gori diyan jhanjhra and Jatt naal yarian.

So much cringe Not a family movie Gippy'S character is the worst ever so is karamjit anmol Guy is supposed to be a simple innocent guy but talks double meaning all the time The scene where he is describing the kind of girl he is looking for, even the wisest guy can't describe a girl like that. How is someone supposed to believe that he is an innocent guy. The guy never understands the situation or timing, he just wants to get the girl and then all the women also seem to like him even though most of the things he say are double meaning.

Overall what i would say is that movie doesn't make any sense . Not even entertaining Do better job making movies guys Absolutely dull movie.

Loved it and watched it for himanshi khurana. She had a very short screen time but as always she has made an impact. I have never watched any punjabi movie before this This was for the first time .Wanting to see himanshi more and more in films.

I see Gippy grewal's social media and he post videos watching great movies and web series but when he makes movies like this, its such a shame. Even his other movies like pani che madhani and warning also he wasted by adding his role to it. Just because he saw this webseries is running successful so he added himself without even any need for him to the film.

Intelligent ode to Girdhari Lal of folk lores

Not many can appreciate the ingenuity of film makers to bring one of the folk based character of Girdhari Lal on the screen. Gippy was successful in bring the life into Girdhari lal of whom we have heard in folk bolian since our childhood. A very light hearted movie to appreciate which you might need a certain wit. The character of Girdhari lal is explored like a study with introduction of 7 girls one after another. And like a short stanza of a poem all short episodes with various girls are laid out beautifully. A fresh story, I enjoyed this one, its one of tge gew good ones coming out these days.

Must watch with friends, I appreciate Gippy's direction and acting.

I loved the other two movies that Gippy Grewal directed, Ardaas and Ardaas Karaan -- I found both of them very moving. But I want to second the people who posted negative reviews of Shava Ni Girdhari Lal. The main character seems inconsistently portrayed, sometimes as a simpleton, sometimes as a wise man. In addition, despite her top billing, Neeru Bajwa only has a small role in the film. There is a lack of a compelling storyline as well. I found myself unable to concentrate fully on the narrative because I was bored. Also, the ending is either a masterful art-film type of ending, full of ambiguity -- or a cop-out. I vote for the latter. The cinematography and some of the costumes, however, were quite beautiful.

Great movie. Story line was just awesome. Great cast. This movie definitely have to collect about 30-40cr. But due to covid restrictions and less promotion it wasn't achieve it's mark. Seriously a very good movie with great dialogues and poetry. Just Go and watch now it on Amazon Prime.

Punjabi Musical movie - Beautiful portrayel of folk Girdhari lal

Loved the movie, Gippy Grewal played character of straight forward Girdhari lal very well. Challenges that Beautiful and honest people face such as being called simpleton are presented very well. At the same time excellent portrayel of time before partition. Finally all the songs in the movie are selected carefully and are sung in tune. Not like today's popular artists singing about violence that is far away from true punjabi culture but closer to Compton culture. You ll love this movie and songs if you really understand punjabi culture, or it ll be bouncer over your head.

Gippy acted really nice and natural. Songs are awesome. Cinematography is too good. All the actresses acted nice. Supporting caste acted very well too. Full entertainment. Recommended.
