Sex & Nudity

  • Some female civilians wear revealing clothing, especially in the nightclub level.
  • The nightclub level contains sexual themes such as suggestive neon signs and environment.
  • A few maps have a sexual background to them. In most cases nothing sexual is shown.
  • Sexual themes are in one level but no actual nudity
  • In the map, Port Hokan, there is a locked shipping container. If you're able to unlock it, there is a fully nude malnourished woman inside, sometimes several fully nude women (bare breasts and pubic hair/vagina) Semi-graphic as it is just a video game, but none the less very much there & extremely visible.
  • In the 23 Megabytes a Second mission, the main suspect's apartment is full of anime figures with revealing clothing. One of the pieces of evidence involves photos of children, implying the main suspect is involved in child trafficking.

Violence & Gore

  • The player controls a SWAT officer, tasked with entering an area filled with potentially hostile and armed persons. The player has access to lethal and non-lethal weapons, and can use them on humans. Killed characters form a pool of blood under them.
  • Some levels contain either several dead bodies, or few especially badly maimed dead bodies. Blood is to be expected.
  • After the 1.0 release, dismemberment was added. Suspects who are shot in limbs, hands and feet may have that limb mangled or even blown off of their body entirely, with strong detailing. Heads may "explode" when shot at, particularly if using a shotgun.
  • Downed suspects often scream, cry, or make another realistic and disturbing sound of pain upon being shot down. Suspects who are fatally shot may do the same, as well as make a horrible choking sound, as if they are choking on their blood or vomit.

Profanity

  • The suspects and civilians can say insults at the player when refusing to surrender, or while being cuffed.
  • "F---", "S---", "Damn", "Hell" and "A--hole" are sometimes used by the suspect and civilian characters when encountered.
  • The slang term "pig" is sometimes used to insult the player, as they are a police officer.
  • After the 1.0 release of the game, NPC Suspects upon being detained on the gas station robbery may use the word "n*gga" in a non racially aggressive manner (the suspects who may use this word are black).
  • Certain people within the game, most notably one of the NPCs within the "less lethal apprehension training" room, where players can test less lethal weapons on a suspect, or practice forcing compliance through other means, may spawn with Nazi tattoo's on their face and arms, such as forehead tattoo's reading "88" and Eagle badge tattoo's. The NPC does not otherwise exhibit any racist behaviour or language and merely serves as someone you can practice apprehension on.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Alcohol products, illegal drugs and cigarettes appear in the game, but the player can not use any of them.
  • Some NPC's in the police station/lobby of the game are smoking cigarettes. Both packs and individual cigarettes also appear in various levels as decoration.
  • Bottles of alcoholic drinks appear as decoration in various levels.
  • Packages filled with illegal drugs, as well as loose syringes appear in some levels. You are directed to secure them for extra points.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The game's main premise is based around the player being a Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) officer, whose role is to enter into situations deemed too dangerous or complicated for regular law enforcers.
  • Some levels are very dark, so suspects and civilians may be hard to see and might surprise the player.
  • Clearing the level of all hostiles can get intense, as the player will not respawn if they die.
  • Several levels tackle disturbing or frightening, but very real and possible scenarios, including but not limited to: Armed robbery, active shooters, drug trade, bomb threats, hostage situations, child exploitation, human trafficking, and terrorism. Some of the scenarios are just a backstory though, and may not be seen in-game.
  • Levels are very gritty, realistic, and dark compared to other games
  • Players may choose to shoot and kill civilians if they wish, the game does not encourage the behaviour and this may cause your single player teammates to gun you down on sight, however during online play beyond score reductions, taking this action would befall upon the responsibility of the players, with no score incentive or objective for doing so. During single player gameplay however, your AI teammate may shoot a civilian accidentally.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • On the gas station level, a room in the employee area has an especially gruesome sight where a civilian has been shot in the head, partially destroying his head. Gore is seen on the wall directly behind him.
  • The nightclub level's premise is a mass shooting committed by a group of terrorists. There are several dozens of dead bodies all around the club, especially on the main dance floor and emergency exits.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The 213 Park Homes level is about a raid on a large drug manufacture/distribution operation. The accessible buildings all have bags of methamphetamine and cooking equipment scattered around various rooms, and the inhabitants are likely also users of the product.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • In the 213 Park Homes level, on the "Barricaded Suspects" variation, one of the upstairs bedrooms contains a person who is twitching and convulsing on the bed. Next to her are some syringes, and an unopened condom wrapper. The player can only report her and move on.
  • The premise of the "Voll Health House" level is a police raid into the house of a porn star who is part of a CP ring. While nothing is shown, events are greatly implied to have happened within the basement.
  • Certain missions involve suspects who aren't really villains, and are just committing non violent crime as a way to make ends meet. An example of this is there is a mission where the sons of a cancer stricken old lady start an illegal operation of converting weapons to machine guns in their attic. When searching the house, you can discover medical bills showing that they are over $200,000 in debt due to her treatment.
