Death and the Maiden is a motif in Renaissance art, starting from the painting Death and the Maiden (Der Tod und das Mädchen) by Hans Baldung Grien (1517). The title has since been used in, among other things, music, film (Roman Polanski) and literature.

What a joke

Episodes like this is why no one will ever take CSI seriously. They force a stupid "plot twist" at the end which was so predictable a 6 year old kid could see it coming.

Basically the first 40 minutes of this episode was a filler and everything was "magically solved" in the last 60 seconds by a non-evidence where they found our "killer" who no one suspected except literally everyone with a brain already predicted it 30 minutes ago.
