Absolutely stunning concert!

I had earlier bought Mylenium Tour on DVD and I thought that was a real hit, Myléne Farmer is quite a very special performer. When I finally bought the DVD version of this live concert "Avant que l'ombre" I was really stunned, how can a concert be so well performed, directed and set up? Still it seems like it is quite unknown to most people living outside France. In Sweden, Myléne is more or less unknown by most people. Even if you don't understand the language, her charisma and her voice really catches you. Just look at the emotions of the audience when the last song is finish, absolutely unbelievable. I wish more people discover this wonderful singer, because they really miss something special.

The best you can get

You might think this is just a recording of a Live Concert. But it is much more. Mylène Farmer is not just the most famous artist in France, she is a unique person in every possible way. To describe her is not possible, you have to see her for yourself. You do not need to know anything about the french language, to feel this women is different. You will love the music and the performance, but in every case you will love her . . . Every song is different and her voice will turn everything in you on. Don't miss to watch it. Francois Hanss did a great job to give the audience the right feeling..... almost in the center of the action. He was also the director of the "Mylenium Tour" and "Live a Bercy". Both are a "must watch".

Wonderfully kooky as always

From the very peculiar outset, you feel that's you're in for an unusual night with a Mylene show.

As always, l'Ange Rouge sings beautifully, perfectly, wonderfully well. Some of the lesser-known Avant Que L'Ombre songs get an airing in this show. Perfectly pleasant though they are, I did slightly prefer those from the Innamoramento album during the Mylenium show. The Spanish dancers also irritated me slightly, twice. I'd much rather have an Yvan Cassan piano interlude, but maybe that's just me.

I think my favourite part was when the young girl was invited up to share the stage with her idol. It's such a lovely moment. I can hardly imagine how it must feel for her.

This was the 5th of Mylene's shows that I've seen, and although I prefer various aspects some of the others, they're all perfectly enjoyable and pretty wonderful.
