Lockdown has narrowed my circle of friends and people so I loved engaging with this unique story of Sabi. They are beautifully complex and I was hooked from the first episode. It's clever in offering insights into the LGTBIQ community as well as pressures of migrant children. Support characters are also unique and engaging and I learnt how to use the pronouns 'they' and 'them'.

This is one of the few shows that is authentic to the gender-fluid/nonbinary experience. I found myself relating to so much of this even though I'm in a different stage of my life. We need more shows like these, with diversity, telling stories and highlighting voices that are not usually heard. The characters are flawed, but they also feel very real. I really enjoyed the first two seasons and I hope that they continue it with a third. The show tackles a lot of difficult topics and does a beautiful job of demonstrating how messy life can be for all of us. Great blend of family, friendship, and romance.

I wanted so badly to fall in love with this because I loved the character of Sabi and the story they were telling. I had a harder time with some of the supporting characters that just didn't feel very real. The last two episodes are really excellent, I think they might've found their groove and I hope next season builds on this.

Worth seeing Loved the plot and I kept wanting more 8 episodes wasn't enough.

What a fun and easy watch. This is a show that will have your smiling while you watch it. Interesting characters, cool storyline, diverse humans and engaging.

Ignore the negative reviews, give the first episode a go and decide for yourself. Whilst we humans come in different flavours....we all end up sharing the same issues in life.

What an incredible series.

I loved watching it from start to finish. The mix drama and comedy is perfect. I felt Sabi's journey of self discovery as a brown non binary person and their acceptance of self to be very relatable and beautifully portrayed.

I was very surprised to see the low ratings on here, don't let them deter you!

Urg what a perfect series.

I think for trans viewers this show offers a lot of representation around the different relationships we have in the world and around us. The show feels grounded in reality. I love the writing, and character development. It's nice to see our stories represented in a way that doesn't feel sensationalized for cis people. There is an earnestness, and genuine feeling to all of the characters. I think one of its greatest strengths is how regularly it shows people establishing boundaries. It's willingness to broach uncomfortable conversations around things that may seem obvious, but are so easy to avoid. It has the watchability of comfort TV, without feeling canned or too similar to any of its counterparts. It has heart, It's fresh, and smart. It feels like real life, and I love that. There's an ease, and effortless about it, even when grappling with real life's awkwardness. It's just a pleasure to watch. I'm so glad to live in a world where Sort Of exists. Make more of it, and support this show!

If you're watching this in hopes that it's a snort-your-beverage kind of comedy then look further. If, however, you enjoy a good dramedy this is a great one. I think some people may have missed one of the main tenets of the show.....that we're ALL flawed.

Overall this is an engaging watch and I looked forward to each season. Most of the best shows, regardless of the genre, have some aspect that's character-driven and feature characters who you come to know and that is true for Sort Of.

The one scene that I found lacking slightly was the one where Sabi gets the nanny job. I think they were trying to illustrate that they "see" one another beyond the first impressions but it could have been fleshed out a little bit to make it read more authentically.

The show illustrates the many layers that exist between friends, family, in relationships of all types. Some people might not directly relate to some of the gender stuff/pronouns/being the child of parents who emigrated/the characters' struggles- but we can all relate to the complexities of the world we live in today and how we are all trying to find our way and I think that is the point.

I seriously don't understand why people are rating this show so badly it is a good show indeed, The acting is great the writing is there too, there is some drama, there is comedy and the show is indeed different, The only thing that I don't quite understand is the end because there is not really an end and I'm glad about the show is refreshing.

The main character Sabi is very flawed. The issue is the acting, especially Sabi. They're very one note, montone and dont say a lot. It may have been a style choice to write them as a millennial version of Daria, but even Daria had more personality than this. The plot overall didn't deliver either. The first episode is by far the worst. I couldn't tell if the writers were aiming for comedy or conversational dialogue because the comedy lines were mainly insults. By the end of the season, Sabi is supposed to have had some sort of realization for their character, but its a "Blink and you miss it" fail. The show had an opportunity to build to something climactic after all this time of what felt like episodes of random stitched together scenes.

I turned on my TV to watch one episode out of curiosity and couldn't turn it off until the series finished. On a weekday. Which says a lot! Great acting and writing. I just want more.

I'm seriously weirded out by some of the low scores and comments here. I hope that personal biases are not interfering in their perception of this series. It's one of the few shows that realistically & engagingly humanises some issues around gender, race, misogyny & family - that have been such hot topics and so clumsily handled by so many other shows. The lead character is so incredibly likeable & the feel of the show has so many comedic elements that it's easy not to get too weighed down or depressed by what actually transpires in an otherwise dramatic storyline. Perfect casting too! Everyone one in this show is unknown to me and everyone of them were superb & believable.

Congratulations! I look forward to Season 2!

It may not be perfect, but it's pretty good and probably just needs to get into a groove. The main character is flawed, but likeable. They have to deal with a lot of challenges that aren't easy. The kids are great. King is over the top and I nearly ff through those scenes. Still, interesting and compelling. I have high hopes it's going to get even better.

I was feeling just OK about ep's 1 and 2, but the third ep. Really found me getting into the character and identifying with their feelings and issues and struggles.

If you're unsure about this show after 2 episodes, I recommend sticking with it. It does get better, and it is well written and draws you in.

This show is wonderfully entertaining, wonderfully written, and wonderfully performed!

I have enjoyed how real and representative it is!

Unpretentious & fluid, I feel the rating should be higher, as it deserves better markings than these. It is a kind of 'coming of age story' presented in well-cut dynamics of situations and emotions.

This world needs more shows like this one! It's such a great indie cocktail consist of really important topics nowadays such as self-acceptance, LGBTQIA and the ways of finding yourself flavored with great amount of sadness and good sense of humor.

Highly recommended.

Amazing!!! Could not stop watching, great acting, great story. Seriously being underrated... Its not what you expect either, I really enjoyed it. Amazing soundtrack too.

Every once in a while, there is a character in art that I wish I could know. Count Alexander Ilyich Rostov, from Gentlemen in Moscow, Fleabag's main character and the refreshing lead character, Sabi, in "Sort Of." Sabi struggles with where to draw the line of showing up for others in need that you care about and excepting/valuing yourself enough to show up for your own best life. And the struggle of figuring out what your own best life looks like. For me this is the main question of the piece and the writing is pristine. It's funny, sensitive and poignant all at once. Biala Baig is a wonderful actress and writer. I can't emphasis enough how much I love this show!

Now you can't remove its core theme of playing on gender as the humour and how as a modern society are evolving in its acceptancy, but without this core feature, there is no humour.

All good comedies have layers. This does not.

I believe that the ratings of others are due to its theme, not its entertainment value. My view is that as a comedy it just can't be rather above average because it just isn't funny. The odd smirk that passed my face was shot lived, and there were no out loud moments for me.

Overall, a disappointed attempt to leverage off past, or perhaps even some current views on gender stereotypes, even using alienation off the Indian culture to almost racial effect. Not a fan.

How refreshing to see talented people of colour taking the stage! Excellent cast representing the culturally diverse lgbtqi community that actually exists in the western world. It's definitely not all straight/white in reality and it's about time that is clearly represented on screen. The actors are very likeable and believable. I had many laugh out loud moments. Watched season1 over two nights... Looking forward to more.

I really like Sabi's character and it's great to see such a diverse cast. Unfortunately the series does not pack as many laughs as I had hoped, and I find all the extra characters too, well, extra. Most of the characters are one dimensional, and there really isn't much to their dialogue (other than shouting a lot). I feel like they all have the same disagreements over and over again, and a lot of the queer culture jokes/references feel like they're shoe horned into the scrip - it comes across at times as forced and inorganic. I really dislike King's character, but I'm pretty sure that's intentional so I'm not holding that against the show. I just wish it would have been funnier, especially to counter the more tense and awkward situations between characters, because there are long lags between jokes which leaves the series feeling claustrophobic. I don't think it's a bad show, it's definitely worth a watch, but it wasn't what I was personally expecting and if they go in for a second season I hope they push things further and get a better comedic writer on board to help really make these characters shine.

Let's see. The lead character writes, directs and acts in this wonderful series and people are giving the series 1s, 2s and 3s?

WTF? Get over yourself and over your pathetic transphobia.

This is probably the best Canadian film / TV I have seen all year.

Simply exceptional.
